Leonetta or Lutteo - Which couple is more toxic? part 2./part Lutteo. (SECOND SEASON 41.-80. ep.)
Then they meet in the park. Luna thanks him for being brave. Matteo says he loves her, and the magic words are, "This time nobody will separate us." I realized that whenever they say these words, something will definitely happen, and they will break up. Happens in Violetta, happens here. They get back together, and they kiss. It's good to see them back together, but I unfortunately know it won't last, which sours the whole thing for me. But it's a cute scene; I love that at the end Matteo was capable of risking it for her and their relationship. I also love how he saved her life, and I'm glad at the end he realizes he made a mistake. I also really like when he says that he loves when she says things that don't make any sense. And this whole "rey de la pista, chico fresa, chica delivery" thing. It adds so much to their relationship. He also confesses it here that the kiss in the first season, at the end of the competition, wasn't part of the choreography like he always said, but I think this is something we all have already known. Luna knows if this time he is sure what he feels because he doesn't want to get her hopes up like she did during the summer. He says that he is sure that he knows he was wrong and that since the first time they saw each other, he knows what he is feeling for her. I find her phrasing a bit weird here, because it's never been about his feelings. He wasn't staying away from her because he wasn't sure in his feelings for her, but because he thought he needed to go to Oxford and didn't have any other chance. He says the magic words again, so now we can be sure they're not going to stay together.
Luna then talks to Simon and tells her what happened with Matteo. Simon then talks about their friendship, that they've been through a lot, and that he wants to play her a song that reminds him of her. Then he proceeds to play a song that is basically about two best friends, one of them comforting the other one because of a love interest, but in reality, they want their best friend to be in love with them, to feel those things for them. This would already be alarming to me if I were Luna, because we all know Simon had feelings for Luna in the first season. Nobody asks Simon to immediately get over her; I know it's not that easy. And nobody asked them to not stay friends because of this, especially since they've known each other since they were kids, but I feel like they have zero boundaries. Neither of them has any, and it's not a healthy thing. We will come back to this later, because I have more thoughts on this.
Then the Vidia contest starts. Basically, they will be broadcasting the participants performances via streaming. The people's most-watched videos get the most likes and views and will be the finalists. After that there will be a duel on the Roller Jam; the winner can record their own album. Matteo obviously gets immediately excited, because this is his opportunity, the one he was looking for. Simon is also excited since this could be his chance as well. You see, the Roller Band broke up, and Simon is now looking for another opportunity. Matteo joins Luna's and Simon's conversations and says that this could change someone's destiny. At this point everything seems okay, but it won't stay like this.
Then we see Luna and Matteo talking, and when Simon looks at them, it seems like he is a bit sad. Luna even asks him if he is okay. I assume he isn't over Luna yet.
We then see Gaston and Matteo talking. Matteo is really happy, and we can all see that his mood is much better than it was throughout the first part of the season. He says that his music is also important and that the best decision of his life was to tell his father what he actually wants. They then talk with Luna, but she gets a call. So Luna has been trying to find out who her real parents were since the very beginning of the season, and she gets a call from someone who wants to talk about this with her. She promised Matteo when she almost got hit that she would tell him the reason why she ran off, but she didn't do that, and she doesn't do it here as well. Matteo asks her what's going on, who it was, but she says it's no one. This is important to note here, because this will cause some troubles for obvious reasons.
Then we see them skate together and then talk in front of the lockers. I just really love these little teasings they do. When Luna says that it was great to skate with him, but the other times are unbearable. Or when she teases him with him being a bit better at skating now. Or when he says that she falls is art. I just really love this dynamic between them. They don't say hurtful things to each other but have these inside jokes and little sallies. Ambar sees them and obviously doesn't like seeing them together. Her goal is to tear them apart.
Then Matteo finds a little gift in his locker, a T-shirt. He gets a note that says something like, "For the best skater, thanks for always teaching me something new." He obviously thinks that it is from Luna, and he is really happy. When they meet the next time, he says thank you for the gift, but she says it's not from her. Matteo then shows the letter to Luna, and she says that she didn't write that. He doesn't really understand the situation; neither does she. She asks him if he's taught someone else to skate as well, but he says that he hasn't. Matteo asks Luna if she knows that he wouldn't lie to her. And after everything, this is a hard one to answer. I mean, Matteo did lie to her at the beginning, so what should Luna say? Matteo says again that he doesn't know who sent it to him, and it makes sense. If he knew or even just suspected it could be from someone else, he obviously wouldn't have shown it to Luna. Matteo asks her if she is okay, and she says she is. Matteo says then that he doesn't care about anyone else but her. Luna believes him, and it seems like things are okay between them. This is a hard situation, because we all know why it could be hard for Luna to trust Matteo, but at the same time it's not Matteo's fault if someone sent him something. The problem is that even though Matteo never actually liked anyone else, and he's never forgotten Luna, he still lied to her. Since they've met, he has no place for other girls in his heart, but Luna. But I do understand why it's hard to trust someone who's lied to you, even if they lied to you about something that's not relevant to the situation, since he didn't cheat on her or anything like that but still lied to her about something that involved her as well. They then have a fun little chat again, and I just really love these little conversations.
Luna then shared the whole gift situation with Nina and said that she trusts him because he's changed a lot and proves this to her every single day. And she is kinda right; she doesn't need to be afraid of Matteo starting to love someone else, because that's not going to happen. She then gets a voice message from Matteo. He says that he misses her a lot and loves her. Then Matteo plays a new song he's written, and Luna says that seeing him sing and play always excites her. Matteo says that seeing her skate makes him feel the same way. Luna says that she loves how he sings, and this way he can truly connect with the audience. He says that he is going to follow her advice because this is a huge opportunity for him, and he's needed to go through a lot of stuff to get here. We can see since the very beginning how much pressure is on Matteo, how much this whole Vidia thing means to him. He thinks of this as a chance to show it to his father that he can live from this. He says that he is willing to leave behind everything for this, to achieve his dreams. He cracks a bad joke here about them breaking up, but the joke's on him, because Luna will actually break up with him in a few episodes. I feel like these scenes really foreshadow what's going to happen in a few episodes. This whole thing is really important to Matteo. He thinks this is his chance, the only one. If he doesn't win now, his father will never believe him, or worse. Maybe he will force him to go to Oxford. This is his chance; if he doesn't succeed, he failed. Himself, his dad, and he won't be allowed to do what he wants. He puts an immense pressure on himself, and his dad's words are still there with him. Ambar sees them and says that her plan of breaking them up is already in motion.
Matteo then gets a message from a fan; Luna asks him if she is the one who sent him that terrible shirt, and he says yes. He doesn't answer them, though, because he doesn't have time for that now, since he is with Luna. This fan, however, doesn't stop, but Matteo just wants to be with Luna, so he turns off his phone.
They then talk again a bit later, and Matteo says that he is very nervous and wishes he had more time to practice. Luna says that everything is going to be okay. Jazmín then pops the big question for Luna and asks her whether she wants Simon or Matteo to win, since only one person can win. She tries to save the situation somehow, saying she wants Yam to win, then that she wants everyone to win, but Jazmín doesn't let it go. Eventually Matteo saves her from the situation, saying he wants to show her something with his song. Jazmín asks him if he isn't interested in who she prefers, and he says no. They then leave.
They also have a cute conversation in the school and then in the roller. Matteo confesses to her that he is nervous, and there is one he doesn't like how it comes out. She tries to calm him down. He says thank you for being with him, because it means a lot to him. Then Simon arrives, who also wants Luna's opinion of his song, but she told Matteo not so long before that she will help him. Matteo says that he is fine with Luna helping him first, that his song is almost done, so he can go and help her friend. Gaston then arrives, and Matteo tells him what happened. Matteo seems understanding and gets that they are friends and Luna wants to help him as well.
Matteo then also tells Gaston before his performance that he is worried. Gaston is surprised since he is such a confident guy, and he is usually not like this. Him being self-conscious and worried shows how much this whole thing means to him. He says that he doesn't just do it to prove something for his father, but also for himself. We can all see that this isn't just about his father, about proving himself that he is capable of living from this. Ambar then enters the dressing room and takes Simon's tailpiece. Luna goes and helps his search for it, and while doing it, Juliana announces that Matteo is the next one to sing. Simon says to Luna that she should be there, but Luna doesn't want to leave Simon alone. Simons then says that he is her boyfriend and that it's important to Matteo for her to be there. Matteo immediately sees that Luna is not there, and Ambar is happy that her plan worked. Luna gets to the second half of Matteo's performance. This is a hard situation again, because I get that she wants to help Simon, but we all know how important it is for Matteo to see her during the performance.
Then Simon is coming, and guess what he is singing? If you guessed that he is singing the "We are best friends, but I want you to be in love with me" song, you are right. And look, I love their friendship, but this is a bit too much. I wouldn't be comfortable with my best friend, who was in love with me, singing a song about him wanting me to love him, especially not when I'm dating someone. And yeah, he was singing it to Luna. And no, I don't think it was right, or that Luna should be okay with it. Their friendship has always lacked boundaries, and this is the best example. Matteo then compliments Simon but asks Luna whether he wrote this song for her and whether he is still in love with him. She says no and asks Matteo whether he is jealous or not. He says no, but I can definitely understand him in this situation. If I were him, I would also be concerned. It's not about jealousy, but Luna shouldn't be okay with her bestie singing a love song to her.
Matteo then tells Gaston that his fan organized an interview for him. Gaston says that he thought that he didn't need anything to win, but Matteo says it's for practicing. I don't think he is telling the truth here. I do think that he is afraid he won't win and tries to use every opportunity to make sure he wins because he thinks he doesn't have any other chance. If he doesn't win, his career is over. He will disappoint his father and himself. He doesn't know whether his father will send him somewhere to learn. For him this is the opportunity, and he doesn't think that even if he doesn't win this he can still prove a point or can have other chances. Then his fans write him again, saying that he shouldn't say a single thing about the interview to anyone and that he should go alone. Then Nina writes a post about Ym, and it worries Matteo a bit because he is afraid that he is going to lose since Nina's fans will vote for her.
Matteo then tells Luna about the interview, who doesn't really like how much this fan writes Matteo, but it's more like a playful conversation. Simon then arrives and congratulates Matteo for his interview and asks him if he could help him to get in so they would ask a few questions from him as well. Matteo says that he is sorry, but he can't help. Luna ten asks him why he can't help him. Matteo says that they are competing for the same prize and that it's not like he organized the interview for himself, but a fan, and it would be weird if he appeared with someone else. Luna immediately calls him selfish, but Simon says that it's okay. Matteo offers to give some contact, but Simons says that it's not necessary. He then leaves, and Matteo asks if Luna is mad at him; she says no, but they think differently. Matteo says that he understands that Simon is her best friend and that she wants to help him, but this is a huge opportunity for him. He's risked everything for this, and he asks her to understand him. They also talk with Nina about this, and she says that for her, friends are the most important, much more than a prize. She says that she is sad because he's lost an opportunity because of Matteo.
Matteo does a lot of things with which I don't agree, but this time I think he is right. First of all, this interview was organized for him, not by him. That fan organized it for him to participate, not for other people. What would it look like if he went to that interview and brought Simon with him? A person who wasn't even invited? It's not like you just can involve other people as well. He doesn't have that kind of control and upper hand. This selfish thing also bothers me because Matteo actually offered to Simon to give him some contacts, but he refused. Why exactly? Like he could've called them, or something like this. Why is this whole conversation happening if Simon refuses the help that Matteo is offering? He isn't that selfish then, right? And Luna doesn't even question why Simon says no to this or mention this detail to Nina. As I said before, Matteo does a lot of things I don't agree with, and I will call him out on those, but I agree with him this time. Simon didn't lose any opportunity; he was given the chance to call other people himself, but he didn't want that. He could've had his own interview. The problem here is that Luna doesn't even try to understand Matteo, because Simon always comes first, because Simon can never be wrong. I would probably have a slightly different opinion if Matteo hadn't offered to give him the contacts, but he tried to help. Yeah, obviously we could argue that he could've called them and asked them if Simon can get an interview as well. Or that he didn't give their contacts, but I assume he didn't have that? Since he didn't organize that interview for him. I don't really know whether he has their numbers or not. I do think he tried to help. First season Matteo would never.
Matteo then checks and sees that he is the third, but more accurately the fourth. He says that he hopes the interview will help him. Gaston actually jokes with him needing help, and he tries to joke with the whole thing as well, but I do think he is afraid he is going to lose. We can all see he isn't as self-confident as he used to be and that he really wants to win this. The problem is that he thinks this is his only chance, which is not true, but he doesn't see that because he thinks if he can't prove to his father right now, he is not going to support him. Never. And won't even change his mind. He also tells Gaston he is thinking about Luna and the whole Simon situation. Gaston says that it must be hard for her because on one hand she has his best friend and on the other her boyfriend. Matteo asks him whether he thinks he should've helped him, but he says that no. That they are both competing for the same prize and nobody is asking their rivals for help. And I agree with Gaston.
Simon then gets to the first place, and Luna is obviously really happy for him. Matteo obviously hears when Jazmín is happy because of that. Ambar then joins in, saying he's going to win and that this is what Luna wants as well, right? Matteo asks her if she wants that or not. Snot. says that that's not the case, and then the girls try to help her out as well, but he just says it's okay and that he needs to work.
Luna then tells Nina it was really bad to celebrate in front of Matteo, but at the same time she was a bit angry at him because he didn't help him, and that way Simon got fewer like. I still don't understand why she keeps saying this when Matteo tried to help, but he didn't want the contacts. Nina then says that it was logical, and I agree again. It seems like everyone can see Matteo's point but her. She says she wishes both of them could win. Nina says that's it's impossible. Luna says that she really wants Matteo to have a successful career and also worries about Simon. Nina doesn't really understand; she is worried for Simon, who has a lot of experience with the band. She says that because of the band, he needs to find his own way. Nina says that this applies to Matteo as well, that he also needs to launch his career. She says that he is different because he has a lot of self-confidence. I don't really understand why Simon would deserve the prize more because he isn't as self-confident as Matteo, and Matteo actually showed signs of not being as confident as he used to be. She also says that Matteo is used to winning and that people need to know Simon. I also don't really understand these points. Every time Matteo won something, which didn't happen that often, he did because he deserved it. Same goes for all of them. And didn't more people know Simon because of the Roller Band? And she also mentions that sometimes Matteo thinks he is too good for others. I can't say that is not true. She then says that this is why she got mad at him when he didn't want to give him the interviewers contacts. And she is technically right, since Matteo didn't give the contacts to Simon, but he wasn't asking for those, right? He wanted to give other people's and magazines' contacts, but he didn't want that. Could Matteo have immediately offered that instead of other contacts? Yes. Could Simon have accepted Matteo's offer? Yes. I'm not saying Matteo isn't faulty at all, but Simon isn't that innocent as well. The problem is that Luna doesn't see that, and only thinks that Matteo is always the bad guy. She then continues that that was the reason she was so happy when Simon got to the first place. Ambar obviously recorded this part and will use it to try to break them apart with Matteo. Luna then says that she wants the best for Simon and Matteo as well, because he has risked and gone through a lot of things.
Then we see Matteo again, being worried about the votes. Then his big fan (Ambar) sends him the video of Luna talking about him and Simon. Matteo is sad about the whole thing. Gaston says to him that maybe the fan faked or edited the video, but he doesn't really think it's a misunderstanding. Matteo then asks Luna if it's true that he wants Simon to win the contest. She says that she wants both of them to win because they are really important for her. He then shows her the video. She asks him where he got it from, and he says that it doesn't matter, but her preference is shown in that video, and whether she is going to keep lying to him. She asks him again, and he says it's from a fan. She doesn't like the fact that she is being recorded; he says that yes, it's not right, but he still wants an explanation because he is her boyfriend. Luna says that she can't believe that he rather believes Fan than her. He asks her to not change the subject. She says that she doesn't do that, and that maybe that fan actually tries to separate them, and then she walks away. And look, I do agree that it would be a huge problem if a fan was secretly recording her (we obviously know it's Ambar), but at the same time she did say those things, and based on her facial expression, she knows it wasn't that right. She is truly changing the subjects and tries to turn it around. Matteo didn't even hear the whole conversation where basically Luna listed several (not so valid) points why Simon should win. It definitely seems like Luna wanted Simon to win. Maybe she doesn't even recognize it, but it does seem like that. What she said wasn't nice, especially when she knows how much Matteo risked for everything. It kind of feels like gaslighting what she does here, and she is purposely changing the subject and trying to shift blame. Being secretly recorded is a huge problem, but that doesn't mean what she said was okay.
Then we get a sweet moment between them when they are announcing the two finalists, and Matteo stands next to Luna, who goes and holds his hand. And who are the two finalists? Obviously Matteo and Simon. Everybody is happy. They both congratulate each other.
Then Matteo tries to talk to Luna, but she isn't really receptive to it. I get why she is angry, but I don't understand how she doesn't see that what she said wasn't okay as well. He is trying to apologize and says that he thought after the celebration everything was okay. Luna says that her anger won't just go away. He says that he knows he was wrong, and Luna says that his fan only sent a small portion of the video. She is right, but that still doesn't make better what she's said, and before that she even said worse things. He apologizes, and she forgives him. She says that he needs to trust her. The problem is that it seems like Luna wants Simon to win. The way she behaves, the things she says. And she knows that what she's said was wrong. We all could see it on her face when Matteo asked her about it. She says she supports both of them on the same level, but it doesn't seem like it. She basically listed a bunch of reasons why Simon should win, and neither of them was convincing or okay. I get that this is hard for her, but it doesn't seem like she wants them to win on the same level. And with getting mad at Matteo, she basically achieved for him to forget about a thing that bothered him, for obvious reasons. Nobody asks Luna to not support Simon; Matteo wants her to not take sides because it's hurtful for him. It would be for all of us.
Then we see Matteo and Gaston talking about the end of the competition. Matteo is really nervous, and Gaston doesn't really understand why and how, since he never really does. But Matteo is afraid of the whole performance and of forgetting the lyrics (foreshadowing), but Gaston tells him that everything is okay to be okay. Matteo cracks a joke about Simon getting out of the competition when he hears him sing. Luna overhears it, but Matteo tells her that it was just a joke. Luna says it's okay, and I like that she doesn't take it too seriously. I also don't think it was more than just a joke, but maybe he shouldn't joke with these kinds of things. They talk about the competition, and Luna is also nervous. They then share some cute moments and hugs in the background while Nina and Gaston talk.
Then they sing the same song, but Vidia can't decide between the two of them, so they need to sing another song, but with someone. They then both say and name Luna at the same time. And look, I get that Simon's best friend is Luna, but he knows Matteo is going to name her, since they are the ones dating. Sorry, but I don't think he should've said Luna. He very well knew Matteo was going to say her, and sometimes I feel like Simon is looking for trouble. More specifically, to create trouble between them. People say he is so mature and the greenest flag, but to be honest, I don't think he is that perfect. Luna then says that she doesn't know what to do and that she is so tired that he has to choose between the two of them. I think this would be the perfect time to set up some boundaries with Simon. I do think she should be singing with Matteo, and Simon should try to move on from Luna, because it seems like he is still in love with her. Juliana then asks Luna with whom she will be singing and says that if she can't decide, she will, but Matteo doesn't want that. Both Simon and Matteo ask Luna who it is going to be. She says that they don't put her in this situation, but Simon put her in this situation. It's normal that Matteo wants to sing with his girlfriend. Matteo says that he wants her girlfriend to be next to him in this moment (which is valid) but doesn't want her to agonize herself. He then leaves Luna and Simon to talk. Simon then tells Luna that he thinks Matteo is right and she should sing with Matteo. And I'm like, then why was this whole thing needed? Simon very well knew Matteo was going to say her because they are dating, and now he is trying to tell me that he didn't think about that? For me this whole thing feels a bit manipulative, as if he wants to be the good guy in her eyes, the one who makes the sacrifice, the not selfish one. Simon knew what was going to happen, and again, I don't think he should've put Luna in this situation. They are dating, and it's normal Matteo wants to sing it with her. Both Luna and Simon should have more boundaries and should accept that Matteo is now part of Luna's life, and no, their friendship won't be the same anymore, which wouldn't be a problem since it wasn't a healthy one. Luna says that he doesn't want to leave him in this moment. Simon says that he is not alone, even if they aren't together on the stage. I like Simon; I do think he is a nice guy, but it definitely seems like he does these on purpose. Something similar happened with the interview thing, but Matteo was faulty there as well. Here, though, he wasn't.
Simon then sings with Ambar, and Matteo with Luna. Then both of them win, which is good, I guess; both of them deserved it, and it's great that they both have a chance to record an album. Luna then goes to Matteo first; they hug, and then she says she is going to Simon to congratulate him; he says that it's okay. Matteo then talks with Gaston, and he says he would've loved to be the only winner. Gaston asks him if it bothers him that Simon won as well, and he says that he doesn't have a problem with that or with Simon. He says that he just has waited a lot for this moment and really wanted to be able to call his dad and tell him that he did and that everything is okay and to trust in him. Gaston says that he still can do that, but Matteo says that he technically didn't win. We can all see how big of an effect his dad's words still have on Matteo. That his number one priority is to prove to him that he is capable of achieving his dream, and unfortunately this desperation will influence him to make some bad decisions. Then they share a sweet moment with Luna, and she congratulates him again. He says that without her he couldn't have achieved it. I just really love this whole fan thing that Luna is going with. I think it's really sweet and amusing.
Then Matteo and Gaston talk about Simon. Matteo says that he won't get as far as he does because he is still missing a few things, like charisma. And I don't really understand these roller coasters that Matteo goes through. Like a few hours ago, he said he doesn't have a problem with him, and we've seen him saying nice things about him, so I don't really understand why he has to be like this sometimes, when he is capable of being nice. I think these comments are so unnecessary, and this isn't a competition anymore, and he should realize that too. People can be both of their fans. I get that this is important for him, mostly because of his father, but he doesn't need to put others down to succeed. Luna obviously overhears this and doesn't like it for obvious reasons. Luna asks him why he keeps comparing himself to Simon and that the competition is over. And she is right; it is over, but I think him comparing himself to Simon is also because of her behavior. I think Matteo feels like he constantly needs to "fight" for his girlfriend. I think she played a part in this, especially when she said those things in front of the lockers. Luna keeps comparing and making comparisons between the two boys. Maybe she does it unconsciously, but Matteo could very well feel like nothing is good enough for what he does, because Simon will always be the better in Luna's eyes. And now he is afraid of the same thing happening in his career. This obviously doesn't excuse his behavior and words. He says that even though the competition is over, their albums will be released around the same time, so there will be a little competition. Luna says that even though that will be the case, they are two completely different people and that there is place in the world for both of them. Matteo says that yes, but he doesn't want to lose this opportunity, and he wants to stand out. Luna says that she just wanted to say that this is really important for Simon as well, and that he has opportunities as well. Matteo says that then Simon will stand out as well. The biggest problem is that I think neither of them sees the other point of view. Matteo doesn't understand that it's not okay to say and do the things he did and will do, but Luna doesn't understand, or rather can't imagine how important this is for Matteo, and that she kind of fuels the competition between the two boys by not setting boundaries with Simon.
I want to note here quickly that it's interesting to see how much Luna is bothered by her boyfriend not being nice to his best friend. Meanwhile Simon is more than okay with pining after Ambar, knowing what kind of stuff he did to Luna. And Ambar did much worse stuff not just to Luna but to others as well than Matteo.
We then see Matteo and the Vidia guy, Bruno talking about the business a bit. We can clearly see that he sees Matteo as a product, as someone they need to sell. This is why he isn't happy when he gets to know that Matteo has a girlfriend. He says that the girls, his fans, need hope that he is available and that they can get together with him. Matteo says that his girlfriend won't be happy to hear this. But Bruno says that his number one priority is to not disappoint the fans, because they will be buying his album. We can clearly see that the manipulation starts here. However, Matteo doesn't really think this is the best marketing. Bruno says that if he wants to get far in the industry, he needs to listen to him. So Matteo listens to him and says in the interview that he doesn't have a girlfriend, and Luna hears it as well, since she is watching the livestream. I really feel sorry for her, because she doesn't deserve this. I also feel somewhat sorry for Matteo, and I'm mad at him as well. I know he is being manipulated; I know the reason why Bruno can get to him is because he is desperate. He believes Bruno and thinks that if he doesn't listen to him, it's over for him. No album, which means he's let down himself and his dad. That it would mean he's failed. But I'm mad at him because he let himself be manipulated. I know and I understand why and how important this whole thing is for him. But he is hurting people who he loves and love him as well. It's not okay that he lets Bruno get to him this much. I know it's mostly happened because of him wanting to prove it to his father that he is capable, but he should know better by now. At the same time, I feel for him. He is desperate, devastated, and feels like he needs to do what he is being told or it's over.
Matteo and Luna then talk in the school about the situation, and Matteo tells Luna that Bruno told him to say he is single as a marketing strategy. Luna asks him if he is comfortable with this whole thing, because he doesn't need to invent things about his personal life to be successful in music unless he is willing to do everything. And unfortunately, he is. This is his big chance; he can't fail. The weird thing is that one of the reasons Matteo wanted to not go to Oxford was Luna. So now he thinks that the only way he can do whatever he wants with his life is if he records this album. If he fails, his father might send him to Oxford or to another school; either way, he will force him to do something he doesn't want. If he fails, his dad won't ever believe in him anymore, and he will lose everything. But what he doesn't realize is that he is losing Luna, slowly but surely. The problem is that he should've talked to his father, who probably would've let him know that it is not the end of the world if this whole thing doesn't work out for him, and he can't record the album. That way he wouldn't feel this desperate to achieve his goal. He isn't in a rush; the only reason why he wants this whole thing so much is because he wants to prove it to his dad, so he won't make him do what he wants. This is the root of every one of his problems: his dad.
They then talk with Gaston, and Matteo tells him that Luna wasn't happy, but Bruno's strategy worked because a lot of people watched the video. Gason says that he needs to set his priorities straight and that people will follow because of what he sings, not because he is single. Matteo says that Bruno has said to him that in show business, it's different who he is and the person he presents himself as. Gaston says that he gets that Bruno knows a lot about the business, but he doesn't know what it cost him to be with Luna. And this is the number one problem here as well, that Matteo is really dependent on Bruno. He is afraid he is going to lose this oppurtinity and he is new in the world, so he think he has to do eevrything he is being told, or they gonna drop him, and the nigthmare starts all over again.
Jazmín then tries to make a video with Luna, where she asks her when they broke up with Matteo. She tells her that they are still together. Matteo and Luna talk again; Matteo says that she was right and that he was wrong. That he should've told that he is the happiest because he is dating the most beautiful girl in the whole world. Luna says that he should correct himself, because everybody thinks that they aren't together anymore. He says he doesn't care about what people think; he only thinks about what he feels, and he feels a lot of things for him. And I can imagine how uncomfortable this whole thing is for her; I mean, why would she be okay with people thinking they aren't together anymore when they are? They then have an interesting conversation about the Juliana thing, but it's basically about trust. Matteo says that it's really hard to maintain a relationship when there is no trust. Luna says that trust is earned day by day, and then Matteo says that if you have to keep showing it, you will get tired. But the reason why it's hard for Luna to trust in Matteo is his fault. If he wasn't lying to her and making up a fake girlfriend, maybe she would have an easier time trusting him. It's also annoying a bit that Matteo is always the bad guy when it's not always the case. Sometimes he is stupid and he has to be called out, but sometimes he is not. I think if both Matteo and Luna could see the actual problem (him needing to prove something to his dad), they probably would both handle the whole thing differently.
Matteo then goes over to the mansion with a big bouquet of flowers. Luna's parents think he came over to Ambar, who enlightens them that Matteo is Luna's boyfriend now. Why she didn't say anything about them being together is beyond me, but Luna keeps a lot of things from her parents, so I'm not that surprised, and it's relatively a new relationship, I guess. Luna asks Matteo what he is doing there; he says that he missed her and wanted to see her. They then talk, and Luna asks him why she gets the flowers, and he says because he loves her. Matteo then asks her if that's not a good enough reason, and she says that she thought it might be because he realized it was wrong what he had said about Simon. And look, I get it; it wasn't nice, but why do we need to keep bringing him up? It's like Matteo is in a relationship with Simon as well. He kind of jokingly says no, and then they share a moment and he leaves.
Bruno and Matteo then talk, and Matteo tells him that he had problems with his girlfriends because of the interview. Bruno says that after he is famous, a lot of girls will be available for him. He says that he doesn't want a million girls; he only wants one and doesn't want to be on bad terms with her. Bruno says that nobody said it would be easy, and he has to do whatever it takes to succeed. Bruno's mentality doesn't really help his case. Matteo is desperately trying to prove that he is capable to his father and Bruno, telling him that the only way he is going to succeed is if he does everything he can, just makes things worse, and fires his toxic mindset. Bruno says that they need to sell an image, an idol, and that in his private life he can be whoever he wants and can date whoever he wants. He also says that these kinds of things, however, don't sell, so he has an idea. He introduces a famous singer to Matteo, Camila, with whom they will record a song for his album. Luna then arrives, and after a friendly conversation, Bruno tells her that he hopes she won't interfere in Matteo's career. Luna doesn't really understand why Bruno said this, and Matteo doesn't as well; he says that Luna always wants the best for him. He tries to talk himself out of the situation, saying he meant that girlfriends tend to get jealous; Luna says she isn't like that, and Bruno says it was a joke and then leaves. Luna is bothered by this, saying it seems like she is seen as a jealous girlfriend who doesn't want her boyfriend to succeed. Matteo tells Luna to not pay attention to him, but Luna says that it seems like he does, because he didn't refuse to say no when he asked him to say he doesn't have a girlfriend. Matteo says that next time he will tell the truth, that he is taken. Luna says that she doesn't trust Bruno, that he makes weird decisions. Matteo says that nothing is going to separate them (the famous words, when you know they will break up). Luna is obviously right, and Matteo shouldn't trust him as well, but as I said before, he thinks he has no other choice. He either does what he is being told or loses his chance and disappoints his father and gives him a huge weapon to use against him. Matteo probably thinks that his father, every single time he will try to bring up this topic again and say he wants to do music, will say that he's had his chance and failed. That he told him so. Does this excuse his behavior? Obviously not. But Matteo doesn't do these things because he is selfish or because he is that bad of a person. He does it because he is desperate.
Luna then congratulates Matteo because of his practice with Camila, and they have a good chemistry, which is important. And I do love Luna's reaction. I love how she doesn't freak out because they sing together or make a scene. I just love that she isn't jealous. But I guess Matteo doesn't really give her a reason to be jealous. Then Matteo wants to skate together with Luna, and they share a humorous conversation about him not having a girlfriend and about his fan. He says that there is a girl he adores, who is really beautiful and skates really well. And I love these moments. I love these funny and humorous moments when they share these inside-joke-type of things. I really love this side of their relationship. They both get into the skating team, and they talk about this the next time they skate together in the park. Matteo says that he is sad because of their other teammates who didn't get in the team, and Luna says they maybe should just tell Juliana more. Luna tells Matteo who she actually is, a famous skater who got injured and had to give up her career. Matteo says that now he understands why she is so bitter, because she failed. Luna says that she's won a lot of awards, but Matteo says that maybe it's true, but nobody talks about her anymore. Luna asks him if success means being popular, and Matteo says that it means to triumph. Luna says that yes, but it's not just based on applause but on being happy. Matteo says that he doesn't really see her happy, that he would miss the applause. Luna says that she was happy when she was doing something that she loved, but Matteo says that for him it seems like she didn't achieve something that she wanted, and she is being frustrated because of that. She says that she thinks it's because she needed to give something that she loved doing. Matteo says that he would be so happy if he became an artist that all of his dreams would come true. Luna asks him if he isn't happy now, and he says that he is, but he would be a bit happier than that. And Luna really takes this to heart; I assume she thinks she alone can't make her happy, but this isn't about her. It's about his father. I've said it many times and probably will repeat it, but he thinks he will be forced to do something he doesn't want if he doesn't succeed. And that means losing everything he wants. His choice, his future, people he loves, and especially Luna. I think these moments should be the wake-up call for people like Luna and Gaston that something is not okay with him, and he isn't in the best mental health and state, and due to this he is making huge mistakes and bad decisions.
Bruno then has an offer for Matteo that would make him go viral: get into a love triangle with Simon and Camila. Matteo says that he has a girlfriend, and Bruno says that it's okay since it wouldn't be a real love triangle. Bruno says that being Camila's "boyfriend" takes him to a different level and would make him leave Simon behind. He says that the rivalry is over, but Bruno says that it continues in real life. They are going to launch their careers at the same time; they have the same opportunities, and wouldn't Matteo like to be a bit ahead of him? But Matteo doesn't really want to get involved because of Luna and asks Bruno if there isn't something else that could make him famous, other than a relationship. Bruno says that that's what people want, that this sells albums and fills up stadiums, and Matteo is surprised by this statement. I assume he thought his music was going to be enough, and it should be and would be, but not for Bruno. Matteo says that he will think about this. Then he says yes and agrees to this whole thing. And I'm mad at him because of this; he hasn't learned a single thing. But at the same time I feel sorry for him. I do think he is doing all of this because he is being desperate. Bruno keeps telling him that if he doesn't agree to his schemes, he won't be successful. And obviously now we can ask that if Simon could say no, why couldn't he? And I get that it is important for Simon as well, but it's not as life-changing as it is for Matteo. If Simon doesn't accept these things and doesn't get a chance to record the album, it won't be successful. What's going to happen to him? Nothing. He can stay in Argentina and could get back together with the band and etc. What would happen to Matteo? His dad would probably force him to go to a school he doesn't want to, move away from those people he loves, learn something and have a career he doesn't want. I think we can all see here that Matteo has much more at stake. Obviously, this doesn't excuse his behavior, but this is why I don't like when people try to make a correlation between the two guys. Their situation is different; Matteo is in a much more vulnerable situation than Simon; it's easier for him to say no to things like this.
Simon then asks Matteo if he thought about Bruno's offer, and he says that yes, he has already made a decision. Luna overhears this and asks Matteo what kind they are talking about, but before he can say anything, Juliana appears. Then Gaston asks him whether he talked about it with her or not, and he obviously hasn't. Gaston asks him if it's because he knows Luna won't like it, but Matteo says she is going to understand it, and it's fake after all. I mean, I get that it's fake, but I understand why it would bother Luna. I mean, who would be happy if their partner was in a fake relationship with someone? No one. Gaston says that he is talking like Bruno and that he has to be himself. He says that he just has to be alone with her. But before he could say anything, the news is out that Camila and Matteo might be dating. This happens solely after a few minutes Luna says he trusts Matteo, so the timing is not the best. Nina says that she shouldn't worry about the whole thing because the picture was taken during rehearsals, but Luna says she is hurt because how could Matteo let this happen? Luna then goes to Matteo and asks him about the whole thing. Matteo says that he has nothing to do with Camila and that it was Bruno's idea to launch his career. Luna doesn't really understand what this has to do with his career; Matteo says that neither does he, but Bruno said it, and he knows he shouldn't have listened to him, but… And this is one of my problems with Matteo: he impulsively makes a decision and then he regrets it. Do I believe that he regrets these decisions? I do. But that doesn't make anything better, because the damage is already done. His "but" is really loud here, because we all know he does all of this to prove his capability to his father, so he can stay and do whatever he wants, but I wish he would realize that this is not his only chance, or he would talk about this with Luna. Maybe being honest with himself and her would make him realize that he is on the wrong path. Luna asks him why he couldn't tell her, and he says he tried to, but then Juliana appeared. Luna says that it's another excuse, but Matteo says that it isn't. That he couldn't say no, because that would mean no album, no career. And this shows again how easy it is to manipulate him. That album, that career means that he can finally do whatever he wants, that his father can't control him and his life anymore. That he can stay with those people he loves. For him this means everything. And even though Bruno doesn't know this, he sees that he can easily be manipulated for whatever reason. So Bruno keeps saying that this way he can be more popular, that he will be 100% successful with these schemes. So he is afraid that if he says no, he's going to get dropped. Because of what Bruno told him? That only losers think about these things. And again for him this isn't just an opportunity; this is THE opportunity. He either becomes successful, or his father will be deciding over his future and life, just like he always did.
Simon and Luna then talk. Luna says she isn't okay; Simon says that Matteo is not a bad person, and Bruno is really manipulative. He also lets her know that it was supposed to be a love triangle. Luna obviously didn't know about this, and when Simon says that he said no, she is obviously really surprised by this and tells Simon what Matteo told her. Simon says that this whole thing is really complicated and isn't as easy as she thinks. Luna says that Simon said no and still has the chance to record an album, and that Matteo only wants to take the easy road. And first of all, just because Simon was "allowed" to say no, that doesn't mean Matteo was as well. He could've said no, obviously, but again, it's not about the easy road; it's about the fact that he thinks he can't lose this opportunity and that he is afraid of that happening, and he keeps telling her that, but she doesn't hear it. Obviously, Luna has every reason to not trust him and to feel betrayed. But she still thinks this whole thing is happening because Matteo is selfish, and he wants to take the easy road, when in reality he is at a really vulnerable place right now, and it's much easier to manipulate him when he feels like his life and future are at stake. The same doesn't apply to Simon, and she keeps comparing the two boys when she shouldn't do that. And she does it again when she says that the whole thing is really important to Simon as well. But it's not the same for the two boys; Simon doesn't have a dad who wants to force him to do something he doesn't want. Or sent him to a school in England. Or Simon didn't need to move to a different city a lot of times. And Luna doesn't see this; she thinks he is a bad person, and that's it. And Simon is the good guy. But the two situations are completely different, and you can't even compare them. She thinks he only thinks about himself and no one else, that this whole thing is happening because he only thinks about himself, which shows that she just thinks that when he brings up his dad, it's just an excuse when in reality it is a huge problem. Matteo can't just do something because he enjoys it; he needs to prove that he is capable of living off of it and have to prove it to his father, who isn't like Luna's parents.
They then meet in the school, and Luna tells Matteo that Simon was offered the same thing, but he was able to say no, once again doing the comparing thing that I hate. Matteo tries to talk to her and wants to explain the situation, but she doesn't want to hear it and wants him to leave her alone. Matteo then talks to Beruno and tells him that he didn't expect it to happen this fast and that he didn't have time to tell his girlfriend. Bruno doesn't really care and says that his career is the number one priority. He says that it's important for him as well, but he doesn't want to lose Luna, and he feels that when they agree on something, he doesn't do what they agreed on. Camila then appears and calls Bruno out. This is when Matteo realizes she didn't agree to this whole thing. They then talk with Camila, and he apologizes and says that he didn't want to hurt anyone. Camila says that she knows because Matteo is a good person who listened to the wrong one.
Luna then talks to Nina and says that she doesn't know whether she should forgive him or not because she is afraid that he is going to hurt her again, and I get her. This whole thing must be really hard for her as well. Things keep happening one after the other, and I can imagine how tired she is of all of this. She also says that he thinks the whole world revolves around him, with which I don't really agree. I still think she doesn't see what the actual motivation is behind Matteo's actions. They then argue in the park, and Luna says she doesn't want to continue it like this. Matteo asks her if she means she doesn't want to be his girlfriend anymore. She says she didn't mean this and tells him again what Simon said. Matteo says that he wanted to talk to her but Bruno uploaded the picture before he could. Luna asks him again why he didn't tell her the truth, and Matteo says he was afraid of her reaction. She said that obviously she wouldn't like it, but he could've told her at least. He apologizes again and says there won't be a secret between the two of them anymore. He needs to go back to the Roller, so he leaves. They then talk to Gaston about the whole thing, and Gaston says that if words don't work, he should take some actions. And he does that. He records a video with Jazmin where he says that the relationship with Camila was fake, a misunderstanding, and that he has a girlfriend, Luna, and he wouldn't change that for anyone.
Everything seems to be okay, but Simon tells Matteo that they've been investigating Luna's past, and Matteo obviously didn't know about this. And watching this scene I'm like, Does Simon do it on purpose? Like he saw Matteo not really getting what he was saying, but he didn't stop but kept continuing after it seemed like they were okay again. Obviously, he probably didn't know about it; at least let's hope he didn't. So Matteo gets angry, and I get him. When he asks Luna why she didn't say anything, what does she say? She didn't have time to explain things. And I'm really side-eyeing this because she got so angry when Matteo said this and called it an excuse, but it's okay when she says it? She had way more time explaining this to him, the whole fake dating thing, for example. She says that a lot of things happened between them, but Matteo says that she should stop with the excuses. I mean, he is right; at the very beginning of their relationship, things were okay, and she kind of promised him after he had saved her that she would tell her why she ran away. And when Luna wants to explain the whole thing, Matteo leaves, just like she does almost always. She is the one always talking about trust and telling things to each other and getting mad at Matteo when he doesn't do that, but it's not a problem when she does it, right? And it's also interesting that Matteo mentions that she didn't tell him the whole thing, but Simon obviously knows about it. Luna says that they had started the whole thing before they got together with Matteo, and that's why he knows about it and not him. But he is right when he says that she had way more than enough time to tell him this whole thing. And it's visible how much the whole Simon thing affected Matteo, and I get him. They clearly have zero boundaries, and now even this. She is okay with him singing a love song to her; she constantly compares the two boys and doesn't even tell Matteo important things like this but then gets angry at him for the very same thing.
Then they try to rehearse together, but it doesn't really work out for them because they aren't on good terms. Luna says that they are a couple and that he can't just think about himself. And I have to defend him again a bit, because every single time they had bad blood, she didn't want to skate with him and acted up, but when Matteo does, she gets angry with him. It kind of feels like things that are allowed for others aren't allowed for Matteo. He says that he was the only one trusting her and that from now on he will think about himself, not about the two of them. I wouldn't say I completely agree with him, because Luna did trust him, but after everything it was harder for her. You can't expect her to just forget about the whole thing, and all the lies you told her. And I do think that one of the reasons why he stood up against his father was because he wanted to stay with Luna, and while I wouldn't call him selfish, I wouldn't also say that he was just thinking about them. But I do agree that Luna is the one always having speeches about trust, and then she acts like this. I think this is also one of the reasons why Matteo is really angry and disappointed, because she keeps getting angry at him for not telling her stuff, and then she does something like this.
Then Luna and Simon talk and apologize, but Luna says that it's her fault. That they are different with Matteo. And to be honest, I didn't really understand this whole we are different thing. I'm not saying they are the exact same people, but I wouldn't say that they are not similar in some things. She says she sometimes feels like Matteo has two sides: an affectionate one that cares about people and the conceited guy who wants success. And I understand why Matteo's actions come across as being selfish, but I do think that if people would take whatever happened with his father seriously, they would see that it all happens because of that. Does that justify everything? Obviously not, but I do think there are more reasons for Matteo's actions than just being selfish and wanting to be the best.
Bruno then has an amazing idea, once again. He wants Matteo and Simon in an interview together, but he wants Matteo to say the opposite all the time because rivalry sells better than love triangles. Matteo doesn't really want to have an argument with Simon and do the whole thing. Matteo says that Simon won't agree to this, and Bruno says it's even better because it will look more natural. Matteo is still not convinced, and Bruno starts with his manipulating tactics again. That he needs to make sacrifices to become successful, that he knows him and asks him if he wants to be the number one? And he doesn't know him, because if Matteo wasn't desperate to make that album, he wouldn't be doing this. But he needs it because of his father. He says that he wants to be number one, but because of his music. Bruno says that it's just a little fight; it's just acting, and he asks him if there isn't something that bothers him about Simon, and we all know there is. Matteo is still not convinced, but then Bruno says to him that he doesn't have what it takes to be a star and that he is saying goodbye to his career. He obviously can't let that happen, because what is he going to say to his father? He is clearly afraid of what's going to happen to him and what his father is going to say if he fails.
The Roller then wins, so they will go to Mexico. They share a few nice moments afterwards. They then try to talk in the school, but it doesn't really work out. Luna says that she's sent him a message, and he is trying to be jokey with the fan thing again. Luna says that lately they have a problem with communicating, and Matteo says that it's not him who is hiding stuff from her, which is a bit wild thing to say because he's kind of been doing that. He also says that Luna trusts her best friend more than her boyfriend. Luna says that she is tired of his jealousy, but to be honest, he has every right to be that way. Like your best Luna, you know the one who was and kind of still is in love with you, is still around all the time and even sang a love song to you, and you are completely okay with it. You also keep comparing them together, so what are you expecting? They were never really on amazing terms, and Luna doesn't see that her behavior just fuels this drama between them. Matteo says that he has a lot of things to do because he doesn't want to talk.
They then do the interview where Matteo kind of does what Bruno told him to do. At the end he tells him that he just afraid, and asks if him if he is afraid to admit that he is a coward. Obviously, this wasn't nice, and Simon didn't deserve that. I think it wasn't just the Bruno thing; I do believe Matteo was angry at Simon because of the Luna thing. Look, I get that he is feeling forced to do it, and I do agree that Simon has done some questionable things, but it's still not the way to go about it. I do get why Luna gets mad at him because of this. It was way too much, and it was such an angering scene.
Luna and Matteo then talk in the park, and Luna asks him why he wanted to fight with Simon. Matteo says that they just disagree on things, but Luna says that he was looking for a fight. And what I don't understand here is why he didn't let her know what Bruno told him. But I guess every single time he tried to explain it to her that he didn't really have a chance, because if he didn't do what he was being asked, he wouldn't have a career, she didn't believe him, so he probably thought it would be useless. He says it was just an interview, and Luna says that it wasn't and that he causes a lot of damage with his words. She brings up everything that happened, and what I don't like here is that when Matteo brings up what she hid from him, she acts so annoyed, as if she is angry because he brought it up, but if you can bring everything he is allowed as well. Matteo says that she doesn't trust him, and Luna comes with the whole "I didn't have time"—you"know, the very same thing she calls an "excuse" every single time Matteo says it. Luna says that she apologized to it, and Matteo says that he did the same thing, that he even declared his love in front of everyone, but nothing is enough. It seems Luna expects Matteo to immediately forgive her and forget about these things, but she can bring up every single thing Matteo has ever done, and he has to be okay with it. But Matteo has to understand that he does things one after the other, and apologizing won't solve everything. The things he has done and said have weight. It's not just like Luna can forget them and move on. And she tried to do that, but Matteo kept making mistakes. I do believe that he is not a bad person, and probably all of this wouldn't have happened if he were a better person. And I know he does everything so he doesn't need to move away, so he can finally do whatever he wants, because once in his life he stood up, and he doesn't want to waste his one chance (this is how he feels about it), but he still hurt people, which is not okay. I do think he means well, but he only realizes the damage he's done after he did it. Luna has every reason to not trust him or question things he does. Luna brings up Simon again, that he is her best friend and it won't change. Matteo says that they always have to talk about him, the perfect boy. He says that if she likes him so much, why doesn't she date him, because no matter what he does, he is always better. Luna says that she's never said this, but Matteo says that she makes him feel this way every single day, and he is tired of it. He is sick of Luna always criticizing him and pointing out everything he does wrong. Luna doesn't really take his words seriously and doesn't think about the fact that maybe she is faulty here as well. And again this shows that Matteo feels self-conscious when it comes to Simon, because he feels like he feels like Luna prefers Simon over him; whatever he does, he can never be as good as Simon is, and while it's not Simon's fault, he had the chance to say no, because his father is not like Matteo's, but I do think that the lack of boundaries in their friendship, alongside Matteo's decision due to his father, ruined their relationship. Luna should stop putting Simon on a pedestal, because he is nowhere near perfect, and that's okay. Matteo then says she might be jealous of him, which is funny, but he can't find any other explanation for it, but I could think about a lot of things other than this. Obviously Matteo is wrong here, because she wants him to succeed just not this way. He says that he wants his girlfriend to be on his side, because otherwise it doesn't make sense to be together. She says that he is right and that they should break up. Matteo asks him if this is truly what she wants, because he just wants her to understand him. She wants the same and says that it's really hard to talk to someone who only thinks about themselves.
And to be honest, I'm kind of tired of this whole selfish and conceited thing. It's so repetitive, and most of the time it's not even true. And sometimes Luna is selfish as well, when she wants everyone to skate and doesn't really care if other people are not that interested or want to do something else. Luna then says that it wasn't just her who talked about breaking up, and Matteo says that it was just a phrase and that Luna gets angry at him for everything. Luna says that it's not true and only the way he thinks, and the things he says that bother her. He says that she just confirmed that she basically doesn't like anything about him. She says that Matteo promised her that he is going to fight for their relationship. But lately the only thing he cares about is his album and career. But what Luna doesn't realize is that Matteo connects the two things together. He basically thinks that if he doesn't have a career and doesn't release an album, his father will force him again to do something he doesn't want, and if he has to move away, they can't be together. I understand her points, but at the same time, Matteo has so much at stake. Obviously, this doesn't validate all of the things he has done, and a lot of them were more than questionable, and Luna has every right to be angry because of those. I can imagine how hurtful those things were for her, but Matteo is right about the Simon thing and about her always talking about the bad things he does.
I think the biggest problem is that they don't see each other's sides. Luna doesn't see how important this whole thing is for Matteo, actually, the pressure that comes from his father, the whole Simon thing, that she isn't innocent as well, and that she is sometimes doing the exact same thing she gets angry at Matteo. But Matteo doesn't see how hurtful everything is for Luna and that it's understandable she has a hard time trusting him.
They then talk with Nina, and Nina says that maybe Matteo is just jealous and that she understands him, because Luna and Simon actually dated a while ago. Luna says that it's been a long time ago, but Nina says that maybe not for him. She says that Matteo is probably just afraid of losing her. And even though Nina is right, she misses the point as well. It's about Simon still being in love with Luna; it's about Simon singing a love song to Luna; it's about Luna always comparing them. Matteo and Gaston then talk, and Matteo says she will eventually come back and that he thinks he is doing everything okay, which is a reach, and I can't agree with him here. He is faulty here as well. Luna then gets to know that the whole interview thing was Bruno's idea and Mateo agreed to it. She goes and questions Matteo. Matteo says it was just for the show, but Luna doesn't see his point of view, telling him that it's not funny to make fun of someone. Then they argue with Simon as well; it's a whole drama now. And I understand why Simon is angry; I would feel the same way. Luna and Matteo then talk to their friends, and both of them say that they still love each other, but Matteo says that Luna doesn't want to do anything with him.
Gaston and Matteo talk about Juliana and Luna's idea, and Matteo says that he believes in her idea because she is clever, intelligent, and determined. Matteo then says that he is in a period of luck and that he is sure that they will get back together with Luna because she is crazy for him. And I can't stop laughing at these scenes because I don't believe for a second that he believes what he is saying. But then he also admits that he is in love with Luna, and he says that he thinks they will be together again soon. They also share a few glances while they are doing the Juliana project.
Matteo then tells Gaston that he is anxious because he is waiting for a call about his album, but he hasn't received it yet. He also says that he is not interested in Luna anymore, because she is more interested in Sebastian than him, and tells him that he's overheard her saying how excited she is because Sebastian is visiting again. He arrives and wants Luna to sing a love song, but she doesn't want to do that. He convinces her, though, and they share a hug, and that's when Matteo arrives. Luna explains the situation; Matteo says that it's great, but next time she can spare him from the explanation. Matteo is clearly jealous, probably because he knows that Sebastian had and probably still has feelings for Luna. But they broke up, so…Luna then tells Nina what happened and says that she is tired of him being jealous and doesn't understand him. First Simon and now Seb. Nina says that she doesn't understand what she doesn't understand, because Matteo loves her, and that's what it's all about. I don't get why Luna doesn't understand the situation, though. Simon was in love with her even up until the middle of the second season; they also dated a bit, and she was completely okay with him singing a love song to her, not even once. She keeps comparing the two boys, and every single time he calls Matteo out, it always goes like, "Yeah, but Simon did this or that". How doesn't she realize how hurtful and damaging this is? And now she is still hanging out with someone who clearly had feelings for her, and she asks why Matteo is jealous or bothered by the whole thing. Wouldn't she be? Because she would definitely be. Matteo then tells Gaston that he saw Luna with Seb and that they looked happy. He also says that Luna forgot him really quickly.Gaston says that he should be doing something if it bothers him, but he keeps telling him while trying to convinve himself that he doesn't care about it.
Matteo then tells Gaston and then Luna that he has the date for the recording of his album; they are both really happy for him. Matteo says that he can finally show it to everyone who criticized him that he can achieve whatever he wants if he keeps going. Luna obviously brings Simon up again, because whenever Matteo says something bad about someone, it must be about him. He says it's not about him; he is just talking about himself. They kind of have a little disagreement here, which is the same thing we've heard a hundred million times at this point. She congratulates him again, and he says thank you. Jazmin then arrives and starts talking about Sebastian, and that's when Matteo leaves. Matteo then quits working in the roller to concentrate on his album, and Luna asks Simon whether he thinks fame has already gotten into his head. And I don't know if this is the case. I'm confused about his feelings just like he is probably. I think he is going back and forth and doesn't really know what he is doing at this point. Luna then asks him why he quit, and Matteo says that now suddenly she cares about him, and she says that she is worried about him. She asks him why he's been rude to her, and he says that it seems like everything he says bothers her. But, like, she is right. I mean, I wouldn't say he's been rude to her; this was probably the second time after the breakup, and they had relatively normal conversations. I think they should just keep their distance at this point and take an actual break. Right now, Matteo isn't himself, and Luna is also jumping at everything he says. It would be better to just not have conversations right now. Matteo then doesn't understand why Luna didn't even look at him at the rehearsals, and I feel like we completely lost Matteo. He's lost touch with reality and makes bad decisions after bad decision. Gaston then tells him that he's been really selfish lately and asks him if he still loves Luna. He says yes, and that it really hurts him that he's lost her. But lately the only thing she's been doing was pointing out his mistakes, and she didn't really see anything from his point of view. And I kind of agree with him, because I feel like Luna didn't take his whole issue with his father as seriously as she should have, but at the same time Matteo didn't really do that many things correctly, so. He again says that he sacrificed a lot of things for this, and even though people say they know, it seems like they don't get how hard this whole thing has been for him. Luna obviously overhears when he says that now he only wants to focus on his music and that's it.
They then share a little funny conversation in the school again, and the same thing happens after the rehearsals. He mentions the album again, and Luna is a bit annoyed by this, that he can't talk about anything else. I mean, she is the same with the whole skating and Simon thing, but okay. Then Matteo asks her opinion about a song he wrote and whether he should put it on the album or not. He then sings Siento, and Luna says that her opinion is not needed because he does everything perfectly. This is when Matteo finally tells Luna that he actually wrote this song to her. Luna doesn't really believe him, because he said it was for someone else at the time. He says that he couldn't confess his feelings at the time; that's why he said that, but Luna thinks he is lying. Luna says that he can lie to his fans, but not her, and that he only thinks about himself. He says that he is wrong because he also thinks about her. Matteo then kisses her. She says it shouldn't have happened; Matteo says that he knows, but sometimes it's hard to escape what they feel. They almost kiss again, but Luna says that it's not worth trying anymore. Luna then tells Nina and confesses that she still has feelings for him; the same goes for Matteo, who tells Gaston what happened but tells him Luna doesn't want to be with him.
They then rehearse together, and Matteo gives Luna a ring, telling her it's going to bring her luck. He then asks her if she truly thinks their relationship is impossible. Luna says that he is really important to her, but lately they have only been fighting and nothing else. Matteo says that this is their way of communicating since the day they met. That they love each other and that it should be enough. The ring then lights up, and Luna changes the subject. Matteo says that she didn't answer, but she just says that they continue rehearsing.
Then Matteo gets the bad news that he won't have a chance to record his album. Gary says that he is going to receive a huge compensation, but he doesn't care about that; he just wants to record his album. Gary says it's how business goes, but Matteo says that it's his life, that he quit his job for this. Matteo is obviously devastated; I'd be too. Luna tries to talk to him, but he doesn't really want to; the same goes for Gaston. Gaston says that he shouldn't be like this and that he hopes he will go to the meeting. Matteo says he just wants to be left alone and that he just wants to concentrate on the exams. Gaston says that he will do that, but he should change his attitude because if he won't, he will be left alone.
Matteo then tells Luna what happened. He says his career is over, that Gary told him that he won't have a chance to record an album. He says his dream is over. Luna says that he shouldn't say this because he is a really talented boy, that he will have a lot of opportunity, and that he should just be more positive. And I get her, but being positive won't help him when he has to face his father and tell him what happened. He was happy because of this opportunity so he can prove it to his father that he is capable of all of this. His father told him he is alone, and prior to that, he wanted to force him to learn something he doesn't want. He is clearly afraid of that being the case again. Luna tells him that why doesn't he concentrate on something else like the competition? He says that he doesn't care about that right now and that why doesn't she understand what happened to him? She says that she gets it, but they can't do anything right now to solve it, and other than that, he is an important part of the team. And this is when I say that Luna is sometimes selfish as well. He doesn't care about that right now. That obviously doesn't mean he won't be there or won't participate, but this speech is not what he needs right now. Sometimes the only thing she can think about is the competition. So Matteo should just stop being sad because the team needs him. He sacrificed a lot for this whole thing, and she doesn't get it. He thinks this is it. His father won't let him pursue his dreams, and he needs to move away or go to a school he doesn't want to. And it's not even like she doesn't know this. He says that he is tired of everyone and mentions Simon again, which obviously triggers Luna. Matteo says that he is the reason why Bruno left, because he dropped out. Luna says that it's not true, and Matteo is angry that she is defending him again. He then says that he hopes they lose the competition and that Vidia and Gery leave. This is obviously a really mean comment, and it's not like it's their fault his album won't be recorded. I assume this is how he feels and is angry at Luna that she doesn't even try to understand it, so he wants her to experience it herself so maybe then she gets it. It's not right, and it's still an unnecessary comment. But I would be really curious if it was the other way around and Matteo tried to do this; wouldn't she call him selfish? Like telling her to concentrate on something that is more important to him than to her. While I don't agree with Matteo's comment, and I think it was unnecessary, and again it's not her fault, I do think Luna was selfish here and cared more about how this will affect the team than about Matteo's feelings. Luna then continues with the same thing, calling him selfish. Matteo says that he can never say what he thinks, and that she always criticizes him. Luna says that it's not their fault, and she is right in that, but then Matteo says that everybody is washing their hands, and he is left without a career and an album. That if nobody cares about this whole thing, why should he care about other things? She then says he is still the same guy; he says that she always tries to change him, and if she actually loved him, she wouldn't try to do that. Luna says that it's not true. And she is right; she just wants him to become a better person, but I do think it would be more efficient if she just did it without comparing him with Simon all the time. Matteo says that she should stop wasting her time on him and go to Simon, the perfect boy. And that's why I say that her trying to make him a better person would be better than comparing him all the time, because it's not a good and healthy thing to do.
Luna then tells the whole thing to Nina and tells her that she gets that he is sad because of the whole thing, but what he said was too much. But it's still not about the album or the career; it's about his father, and I don't understand how they don't see this. But she is right that what Matteo said was way too much. Matteo then talks to Juliana, and she says that she tried to help him, that he defended him, but they can't do anything right now, and he needs to look ahead. But this obviously doesn't go well, because again, it's not about the album or the opportunity, but about his father. If he is forced to go to a school or do something with his life he doesn't want, he won't have another chance. Matteo says that he is tired that he has to understand everyone, but nobody understands him. Juliana says that she gets him, believe it or not, but the world doesn't revolve around him. It's just so great that in this show everyone is so selfless and everyone is capable of putting everybody else but themselves first. Matteo then brings up the skate accident and her reaction. She says that it was different because it represented the end of something. But for him, it's the same; this represents the end of it. Because of his father. Obviously Juliana doesn't know that, so maybe if Matteo had shared that with her, her reaction would have been different as well. She says that she won't let him hurt the team, though.
They then talk with Gaston, and he says the same thing to him as Juliana and repeats a few of his words again. That the team needs him, that he is going to lose his friends. And look, I understand them. It's not their fault; it's not the team's fault. But he just wants some compassion, some understanding. But what he hears only: you are selfish, the team needs you, be positive, look ahead. Luna and Gaston talk about him again; they say they understand and feel bad for him a bit, but it's not their fault. And they are right, but it's beyond me how they don't see the actual problem, especially Gaston, who knows what went down between Matteo and his father.
Then Matteo finally has a conversation with his father. He tells him what happened and that he was right; he won't be able to dedicate himself to music. And I feel like this is the moment when we can all see that this is what he was worried about all along, why he was capable of doing everything. He wanted to prove to himself and his father that he is capable. His father says he wouldn't say this and that he believed in this whole thing so much. He says that he is happy just because he didn't leave behind something he really loves. Matteo then asks him if this means that he won't force him to go to a school like he did. And this further proves that this was what he was worried about all along, that he will be forced to go to a school he doesn't want, that he has to leave behind everything and everyone, that he will be forced to do something he doesn't want. Obviously, he's made mistakes, but it wasn't because he is selfish, but because he was desperate and afraid. His dad says that now he can see how unpredictable the whole industry is; that's why he wants something else to learn. He says that he could go and take some courses to become a manager. This way he could have his own record label, publish his own album, and give a chance to others as well. So he would have something safer while doing something he loves and he is good at. And that he is supporting him. They agree on doing this, and I feel like this is when Matteo is feeling that huge weight falling off of his shoulders. He is relieved that his dad is supporting him, that he won't be forced to go and do something he doesn't want. This scene shows that all of his bad decisions were made because of this. Because he was afraid, devastated, and desperate. Obviously, he hurt a lot of people along the way, and it wasn't okay. He should've handled this whole thing better, but I do think people didn't take this whole thing as seriously as they should've. We can see his mood instantly changing, and he is much more at peace, which kind of surprises Luna at the rehearsal. Luna then takes off the ring Matteo gave her, which makes Matteo sad, and Luna is also feeling bad because she took it down. She then says to Nina that after she took it down, she messed up the steps, and for this reason she won't take it down until the end of the competition.
Matteo then apologizes to Gaston for everything, and they make up. Gaston asks him if he is going to apologize to Luna as well, but he says that it's different because she wasn't that kind to him as well. I don't really know what to say; she made mistakes as well, both saying hurtful things, especially Matteo, and we all know it's coming because he will eventually do that, so. They then skate together, and it doesn't really work out for them, so Juliana obviously wants them to work on that. They then keep rehearsing, but it doesn't work out for them. They are kind of going back and forth between this we are fighting, we are flirting thing. Luna says he is not that important to make her nervous, and Matteo asks her about the ring. Luna says she wears it because it brings her luck, and Matteo says that it's working because it lights up every single time he thinks about her, but it won't light up ever again. And I don't know why he felt the need to say this; I guess he didn't like and hurt him when she said he isn't that important and that she just wears it because it brings luck.
They then go to Cancun, and he sees Luna and Simon hugging, and it obviously bothers him. He says to Giaston that she is just in the past, but it's obviously a lie. He then sees her skating at the exact same place where they met for the first time. They share some funny inside jokes and flirt a bit, but when Luna brings up that they met there for the first time, he acts like he doesn't remember. But that stupid Matteo remembers obviously. That was the reason why he accidentally crashed into her. I He is sad and mad because of Simon and everything; that's why he says he doesn't remember, but it's just so unnecessary and tiring at this point. Then Luna almost goes to say something to the Red Sharsk, mostly to Ambar, but Matteo doesn't let that happen.
They then have a conversation after the competition. Matteo says she was really good and that she did a really hard step. She says they (she, Matteo, and Simon) did it and that they are a good team. He agrees. They talk about the ring, and Luna says she has a complaint. Matteo asks her if it broke, if it doesn't light up every single time he thinks about her, and she says that it was supposed to bring her luck. Luna then wins the diamond skate, or whatever it is called in English, and we can see Matteo being really proud of her. Matteo then tells Gaston that he was right, that he was wrong in everything, and that he wants to change for Luna. And yes, he needs to change, and he did some bad stuff, but Luna did some bad things as well; sometimes Matteo was right. Both Simon and Matteo go looking for Luna, but Simon finds her sooner. They hug, and Luna sees the ring glowing up, realizing that Matteo is thinking about her. Then the season ends.
This season was a disaster. And it was a disaster to watch it again. I said it before that I think Matteo was the worst self of his in this season, but I do think that Luna wasn't the healthiest as well, and Simon did some annoying things as well. Obviously, Matteo made the most mistakes, and he needs to change a lot, but I do think that most people, including Luna and the viewers as well, think everything happened because he is selfish, but they don't see the bigger picture that everything happens because of his dad. Obviously, he still hurt people, but I do think that most people said he is just selfish and moved on without trying to understand what he was going through. They said they understood him, but they didn't. And I'm not defending Matteo, because he was messy and an asshole in this season, but I do think that a lot of people solely focus on him and his mistakes, but not on the actual reason and that Luna made mistakes as well. I was tired of the Simon talk, the comparison, but also of Matteo keeping making the same mistakes and not communicating properly. I remember finishing the second season and feeling a bit empty because they didn't solve their problems or end up together. But after watching the third season, I do agree that this was the best decision. Things needed to change; Matteo needed to change, and so did Luna and their dynamic with Simon. I do think them not getting back together was the better decision.
Which couple was more toxic? I don't think I can decide. It's much easier to do so in the first and the third season but not here. While Luna and Matteo said some hurtful things to each other, I think Leon's victim blaming and Violetta calling Leon the worst person ever is much worse.
What I really like in this season is that despite everything that happens between Luna and Matteo, they don't get together with other people. They love each other even after everything, but even when they aren't together, they don't pursue other people to make their lives miserable as well or to play with their feelings. Something that comes a bit close to this is the whole Sebastian and Fer situation, where both have feelings for the two of them, but Luna never gives him any sign that she has feelings for him, and Matteo is really straightforward with Fer, telling her that he doesn't like her that way.
Bad season for both couples, so it's a tie this time.

Karol posted a Instagram boomerang story in a lift (elevator) with a message saying 'Good Morning'. A few hours later, Ruggero posts a very similar boomerang story in a lift as well saying 'Hola'. They both even used the same Instagram filter. What do you think? Alongside the recent unblocking, coincidence? Or they're talking again? They also both liked a photo of them together posted by the Soy Luna director on Instagram a few days ago.
I honestly don´t know what to think of it but I wouldn´t look too much into it. It´s possible they´re just past whatever drama they had and are just living their lives. It doesn´t have to mean they´re friends again. The elevator could just be a coincidence. Liking that picture could just be nostalgia, as far as I know they liked more pictures the director posted where they were in.
They could be friends again but they seem to be busy with their own lives.
i just, humanly, really miss Ruggarol... u know? it's like... it's like missing the person you hold dear. i miss their friendship, their pictures, their joint laughter, jokes, videos, hugs. And it hurt me very much😭
