Thrawn: Alliances
Tales of the Empire Spoiler:
The way I was like RUHK?
Hwooooof! I sure did post this smartly and on time when the embargo lifted... not! Nevertheless, here, finally, is the full piece I did for ‘Of Mitths and Legends’, the Thrawn-themed zine I was very fortunate to take part in over the last year. I struggled a lot to do a more serious Thrawn piece, I seem to view him almost entirely through a comedy lens? In an affectionate way! In the end, I found inspiration in Haruchi Furudate’s fabulous work on Haikyuu (again), and tried making a spread on the potential paths for our Master of Perhaps (and maybe got inspired a little too hard, as this reads better right-left rather than left-right xD) Text lifted from two different chapter openings in Thrawn (2017)!
Okay, I'm just now getting into the Star Wars Legends universe, and I have to say that this stuff is 110% better than the sequel trilogy. There's so many amazing characters and great story lines! So many epic things happen, and it's not afraid to go a little darker into Star Wars. Its just... so much deeper and more epic than the sequel trilogy. It makes me even madder when I realize all the epic characters and storylines we could've had...now I beg you Disney, brand the new trilogy un-canon, and bring the legends universe to life!
I'm reading Thrawn Alliances and it took me a moment to remember who Rukh was. I was like... This guy sounds familiar but from where? Then, it hit me. Oh, Rukh! That Rukh! I'm an idiot 🙈😅
