Okay, so my Nana is clearing things out of her house, and among the things she was encouraging - okay, forcing - people to take was a ton - and that is only a slight exaggeration - of rum.
I guess my grandparents accumulated a lot of it over the years and then barely consumed any of it. They liked to entertain (unlike their granddaughter), so I suspect a lot of it was gifted from guests. My brother had first pick and took most of it, but when my parents visited, they brought me this:
And like, I'm not exactly complaining. Stuff ain't cheap, and I'm not gonna scoff at free alcohol.
However, I'm not a frequent drinker, and when I do drink, I'm typically one-and-done. Also, I prefer dark rum - my bro does too, so I suspect he took it all, damn him. This stuff is going to last a looooong time if I don't find something else to do with it.
And this brings me to the point of this post: does anyone have any good recipes that call for white rum? Not just drinks, but soups, desserts, dips, sauces - anything. I'm open to suggestions, especially if they involve my slow-cooker.
