Random Rumi headcanon: she can do VAST impressions, give her a character and she can voice the hell out of that bad boy
Rumi's yuriful fanbase
I keep seeing people trying to pick between making Rumi a morning person and a night owl and have not seen NEARLY enough people consider the option that she is simply both.
She stays up working until 2am, and then just. naturally wakes up at 5am. No alarms or anything, she just Does That. No one can figure out if its because Rumi is just Like That or if it's somethig Celine engrained into her or if its a demons need less rest than humans thing. All anyone knows is that Rumi's sleep shedule is insane and she is physically incapable of sleeing for more than like 4 hours at a time. Like, she's literally been that way since childhood and never even realized it was weird till the girls were like "how are you alive???"
Mira and Zoey are constantly trying to make her wake up late in the day or go to bed early because they find it insane that she's never had a lazy day and slept in. They have never been successful.
The insides of Rumi’s hoodies and long sleeves being covered in a fuckton of makeup-
Rumi probably had to use makeup to cover up her patterns whenever she was forced to wear shortsleeves. So after a photoshoot, she just immediately looks for her hoodie or something, paying no mind to the fact she still has all her makeup on.
So now I’m just imagining its a cold day, and Zoey goes to steal one of Rumi’s hoodies and she puts it on. Then later, she’s getting too hot, so she takes it off, only to realize her own long sleeves are covered in makeup.
Another thing with the makeup:
While Rumi has it on, one of them casually touches her arm, and Rumi just flinches. Not excessively, but the girls can feel it. And then when they eventually pull away, they feel something on their hand, but it doesn’t look like it. They try to wipe their hand on something, maybe their own clothes, and they see there’s a fricking makeup stain on it now.
I want it to be known that in my fic I have a head canon that Rumi is 100% a plant mom, did y'all see her balcony? As someone who loves plants a lot y'all don't know how hard it is to keep a few of those alive 💀
Mira also has a plant in her room that is somehow still alive and is actually doing phenomenally well despite the fact she always forgets it's there and every time she remembers it, she just looks at it and goes "nice"
Zoey cannot keep a plant alive for the life of her and sis is trying so hard 😭
Should I share more of my head cannons? I made a list
Something, something... About Demons and their way of communications... Something that Rumi may or may not had done for a while now wether she realize it or no.
Except the only way of communication she really do with the demons are to gives them warning with her growl that will absolutely intensify if her girls are hurt because of them. Maybe her eyes will flash gold, her left one especially and her aura just became so heavy for the demons - but Rumi is also half-hunter so plush point for if Mira and Zoey can feel the thickening tension and Rumi's heavier, more protective aura. This particular skill she has always manage to glued the demons to where their stood in fear, some even run away before she can kill them.
Post Movie however, her patterns will also flash a dangerous colour - maybe purple, but deeper, or maybe gold. Either way it makes her much more terrifying to her opponents.
So anyway.. You guys know how Rumi is half demon and half human - except the human half is also a hunter - right?
And than there's The Hunter's Lullaby that might be a prophecy
The line: ' 'Till Darkness finally meet the Light' might doesn't mean banishing the dakness with the light, instead it has a more similar (or even the exact same) meaning as 'I should've let the jagged edges meet the light instead', and than the last two line, 'Truth after all this time, our voices all combined; When darkness meets the light, this is what it sounds like.'
Now, with this idea, than Rumi is the child of prophecy with her parents being the catalyst who finally opened a new road for the hunters and the demon. The Honmoon purposefully choses her to fulfill the prophecy.
Except Rumi is also a demon, something that is also very taboo, by the way. Hence why Celine was very conflicted when she has to take care of Rumi and raise her. Even to the end of the movie when Rumi came to her to 'fix her mistake'
I don't blame her, Rumi's shame probably doesn't start from Celine's hurtful words that are purposefully directed to hurt Rumi either. Instead Rumi start to feel her shame because Celine spoke of Demon in such a hateful way and keep on telling her just how bad the demons are - indirectly accusing Rumi, although only half of her. Which make her patterns grow.
Except even with her growing patterns, Gwi-ma could never reach her - maybe it's because of the Honmoon who chosed her and protected her. Honmoon does meant a veil, a divider. The very connection that Rumi has with the Honmoon is probably in a shape of a very thin veil in her mind, keeping Gwi-ma's influence far away from Rumi. Plus under Celine, she's protected - no one will know unless fate said otherwise.
Talking about fate, what if everything that happened does meant to happen? What if everything that Rumi had to gone through, even the growing of her patterns was meant to happen? Like, even if she was accepted in her youth for what she is and therefore supposedly stop the patterns from growing, fate will find a way to make it grow anyway because she was the child of prophecy?
Because when Darkness meet a too much light than it will begone anyway, banished by the light in a way that the Hunters probably had been interpretate and that is not what the prophecy meant (not in this post, at least.)
However, due to her being half human, she never truly become a full demon - only has her claws on her right hand and only has one golden eye on her left eye, adding it's own kind of barrier as to not overwhelm the light with the dark either which make her well balanced between dark and light..
So, in a way, fate had made some kind of a barrier to keep both sides of her to grow while also not to overwhelm either side by letting just one part to grow more... Cruel, I know. But has fate ever been so kind to us when it come to reach the best and kindness outcome there is?
Which got me thinking that perhaps the time will eventually come for Rumi to learn on how to use both sides of her. How interwine both power.
Like how her demon voice can shook and destroy the Honmoon - or maybe it's just her normal, hunter voice laced with her demon voice. Twisted in a way that it turn from protecting and weaving and connecting to destroying and becoming the calamity of the Honmoon itself.
Maybe in the future she will learn how to coat her claws with the newly weaved Honmoon, adding more efficiency when she doesn't have her sain-geom with her and only has her claws. Or maybe she can lace her hunter power with demon power in the shape of her sain-geom turning black with glowing blue patterns - or purple patterns, or simply iridiscent like the patterns on her body.
This is delulu and my own theory though.... Hmm.... Definitely HCS...
Rumi Chronic Pain Headcanons
Rumi’s patterns ache regularly, especially when her shame is the worst but sometimes for seemingly no reason.
The pain ranges from a sharp sting to a deep ache that reaches the bone.
At it's worst, it's all the patterns but sometimes it can be in a specific place, often correlating with an insecurity.
It’s been there for as long as she can remember and just like hiding her patterns, she also tries to hide the fact that she’s in pain.
She believed that she ‘deserved it’ for being a mistake.
She developed a high pain tolerance and while fighting demons she’d miss that she’s been injured until Mira or Zoey pointed it out.
After accepting herself at the end of the movie it doesn’t happen as often but it doesn’t entirely go away.
Going to the bathhouse becomes her favourite way to relax and to relieve the pain both because the heat soothes her and because being with her friends is a good distraction.
Admitting that she’s in pain is quite hard for her.
Mira is the fastest to notice and will always ask if she’s okay and will bring her honey and ginger tea even when Rumi tries to brush her off.
She discovers that the pain is relieved when someone touches them. Massages, especially in the highest pain areas, are really soothing.
Zoey uses this as an excuse to hug Rumi even more.
Opening up to Celine is the hardest. Rumi finds it hard to comprehend that Celine never noticed the pain throughout her whole childhood. Or did she also think that she deserved it?
On the worst pain days Mira and Zoey make her sit out dance rehearsals to focus on herself. Sometimes they all skip and have a bathhouse or couch day.
Bobby being the chillest manager ever is obviously fine about this. In general, he becomes an awesome advocate for her, along with Mira and Zoey, when she struggles to ask for accomidations.
Once she gets more comfortable with the concept she starts to open up on talk shows and advocate for disability awareness.
