[ Note: This started as a joke because I felt inspired by this photo X ; It made me think about Mary returning for her husband's funeral in Arkansas. ]

The sudden death of Mary's husband, Johnathan "John" Hollis, was an absolute shock to everyone in town. One day, John was perfectly fine and the next, we all heard that good o'l John was gone! He even helped Ms. Betty Landry with her flowerbed that same Wednesday! Dr. Williams done told Paul Landry, you know, Ms. Betty's husband, that Mr. John must have been so frightened. He looked like his blood had been drained out of him. Said the man died of a heart attack alone in his bed. Poor Ms. Mary, she done went out to bury her mama only to return to bury her husband.

Ms. Betty had mentioned that Johnathan died Wednesday night after he went home from the prayer meetin'. But I'm not too sure because I saw some lights flicker on and off at the Hollis house late Thursday night as I left Ms. Betty's house to head home. I had finished my cleaning for the day. And you wouldn't believe it...this nice brother dressed in a fine suit with gold in his mouth offered to drive me home. I had never seen him around town and don't take kindly to strange men askin to drive me home no matter how nice they seem. He said he was concerned about me walkin past the tracks to get home safely but I assured him I would be okay. tsk* Would you believe that the man followed me until I crossed the tracks? I looked back one more time and he was gone!

Now, when Ms. Mary appeared that Thursday, she was said to have been covered from head to toe; Grief will do that you! There were no trains available Wednesday night but Ms. Mary made sure to make it back for her husband! I can't imagine the grief that Ms. Mary was feelin'; it can bring on such strange behavior. Judith, Dr. William's wife, didn't challenge Mary's request to discuss arrangements after sundown. Ms. Judith mentioned that Mary had asked that she be present for the conversation but Ms. Judith was more concerned with the complexion of Ms. Mary's skin. "I tell you, it's down right ghastly how pale she is, Lord knows I hope Dr. Williams doesn't plan to drop dead soon. I'd hate to think of what would happen to my face!" I made sure Ms. Judith's silver tray was clean enough for Jude to see her own reflection as ghastly as it is now...

Apparently, Ms. Mary had asked for Mr. Hollis' service to be held after sundown at the funeral home. No one understands why Ms. Mary made this request but those who were able to attend, certainly did to support her. Some mentioned that maybe Ms. Mary's grief gave her some reprieve at night as Ms. Mary spends her days locked away in her home. No one questioned why Ms. Mary felt the need to cover herself from head to toe after ensuring that all windows and curtains were properly closed. Some kind of illness of the blood, you know I don't know all the terms!

Ms. Mary stayed long enough for her husband to be buried and left town soon after...they say grief of being alone in that big house drove her away. I watched her leave town in a little taxi cab, drove right over the train tracks off to who knows where. That reminds me, that's also the last time I saw that brother in the suit too. He seemed to be driving through time and waved at me one good time...I figured it couldn't hurt to wave back...and if YOU tell Mr. Jones, I will deny it!

Lore fact: Gordon Gordiacea ( @consciousgordiacea ) has not addressed the rumors that they were related to the sinking of Atlantis.

It was confirmed to be fake and right now fans are just reposting the ye old “my name is Caine and I am your bitch” and going back to the “written by vivzipop meme” but for a minute I got scared because I could see a possibility of them working together but I don’t think Goose would do that to Michael, Ashely or Dave. Make them work with someone who treated them like shit and went behind their backs to sabotage them

I agree. I considered the idea being more like Medrano discussed ideas with Goose more informally or distantly but I also think that trying to loop her in would be a Trainwreck of a production pipeline. I also always think you never know. Wilder things have happened, but I agree that I doubt Goose would risk hurting people who worked far more closely with her for Medrano's image.

There have been a lot of rumors swirling about GG performing for Dragon TV's New Year's Eve event this year (these same rumors happen every year). Fat Shrimp* has released a statement refuting those rumors and saying GG has no plans to perform for NYE this year.

This is pretty typical when rumors like this begin to catch fire, because there have been issues in the past with fans buying travel tickets and scalped fake tickets to go to events. GG has actually reimbursed fans in the past for money they spent to try to go to an event he was not going to be at.

This doesn't mean we will see nothing from him for the rest of the year. Presales for the physical copies of his album will be starting in December and promo for LOCH will also be ramping up in the next couple months.

He's also always great about sharing content with us even when he doesn't have any public appearances planned.

I wouldn't worry too much. We will likely still get our customary Yibo Hunan TV NYE stage, and that's always exciting. Even if we get no public events from either of them, we will still see their faces in various contexts. They keep us well fed.

Might I suggest a Wicked AU where everyone mistakenly thinks Dorothy is Nessarose's daughter?

Series: Wicked AU Criteria: Mistaken identity can happen to anyone, especially young girls crashing a house down upon an evil despot AU title (optional): Rumor Mill

After Dorothy stumbles out of the house, she is greeted by a village that are very curious about her. In particular her lineage. Whens he tells them she lived with her Auntie Em and Uncle Henry, and didn't know her mother or father, they note she sure looks like the wicked witch of the east that is currently… flat.

When Glinda gives the witch's shoes to her, the take it as confirmed that she's the daughter of Nessarose, and was secreted away because of the fall to wickedness, just like her sister.

The house was a way for Dorothy to act without being directly involved in the death of her own mother, so as she was not wicked, despite her young age. She had to be protected from her aunt, and sent to the Emerald City so Oz can help keep her as a good witch.

Elphaba at first is out to kill the girl, but then hears the rumors and… has been on the run for so long she could neither confirm nor deny until she meets with the girl. So instead of being out for her blood, she is out to find out she is of her blood.

Upon Dorothy finding the Tinman and their friendship, Elphaba assumes that he is the father, and that the secret was to protect the girl from the growing unrest after she was chased out of Oz.

Glinda is trying to quell the rumors and mistake, however the people do not seem to want to listen to her on this subject.

Summary: Erik is the grumpiest, most foul tempered worker at Stark industries. His grumpiness is the stuff of legends. So it's obviously the talk of the office when Erik is being made to go to the company party and he's bringing his husband. There's rumors flying round about how much of a masochist or equally antisocial bastard Erik's husband must be to put up with him. Others think he must be a meek mouse perhaps bullied by Erik. What they weren't expecting was the confident, charming, adorable and unbelievably nice Charles that turns up on Erik's arm. What they certainly weren't expecting was how much Erik obviously adores his husband and how happy he is to let others see this.

Have some fics where a rumor gains some serious traction or gets the truth really twisted or both. Basically, underserving or deserving, some poor character runs afoul of the power of rumor mill.
