Hey I was just wondering how u read his relationships with river and rose an stuff? Or if u just ignore them (cus thats also chill I do that too lol)

ahh, good question! the answer is that i 90% ignore the romantic overtones in both those relationships, and 10% factor those overtones into my personal interpretations

like for doctor & rose, i 100% read that relationship as Quasiplatonic As Hell on the dr who’s part, but not so much on hers. way i see it, they look at the relationship as a sort of vaguely-quasiplatonic thing, while rose sees it as vaguely romantic. i get the feeling they’re only vaguely aware of her view, while rose is…..not aware of theirs at all lmao

anyway so that + the idea that dr who doesn’t view certain actions/gestures as inherently romantic + the idea that dr who sorta….follows rose’s example in these things because Why Not = basic interp summed up

for doctor & river, that relationship also reads as Quasiplatonic As Hell on dr who’s part to me. buuuuut i also feel that river’s keenly aware that the doctor’s feelings are platonic (just doesn’t grasp the intensity or the equivalence of that intensity to her own romofeels--hence part of the sadtimes in the husbands of river song)

at the same time, i do get the feeling eleven specifically is a little...uncertain what exactly their feelings are for river. that they’re maybe a little bit the flavor of aro that goes “do i love them platonically? am i in love with them? what’s the difference? how do i tell???” and their response to this great big puddle of ?????? is to go “does it even really matter in the end?? probably not!! love is love is love is love, we both care about each other, that’s the main thing, who cares how we label it!!! not me!!”

whereas twelve i feel is...not at all wtfro, but has jUST as strong of love for river (which combined w/eleven’s [shrug emoji] attitude i think gets confused for romance? but...on its own doesn’t seem v romo to me At All)

anyway that’s!! basically it for how i read those relationships (and tbH for any other dr who ship imaginable i’ll generally approach it in one of those 2 basic ways, or some combination thereof)

aaaand at this point i’ve gone on long enough soooo  !!

TL;DR: i read all ships involving dr who as quasiplatonic. i view dr who’s feelings in some as plain aro/strictly platonic (as w/rose), some as wtfro/alterous (as w/river), and some as a wibbly combination thereof. interp of companion awareness of dr who’s aroness varies (rose no, river yes)

my dad lived in this house in wicklow in his early adulthood n there was a lil girl who always ran up n down the street singing this song "marionina please don't turn us into foam" smth about a sea witch my dad thought it was from like an anime? anyway he lived there a good 8 years or so and the girl still was there in the crack of dawn singing that song, her voice never got any lower. one night like 30 years later he was at a site n a dude was telling stories round a fire. 1/2

So, about the Italian Illuminati children flick with a torture/diet rape scene...

That’s kinda what happens when you grow up in a family obsessed with obscure Soviet flicks with no known English translations.

So, the movie’s called “Magical voice of Gelsomino”, it’s mostly about a kid with some fuckall strong voice that can break the buildings and bring things to life and it’s all cool, so he fights the establishment who wear shit like that:

And like their mcfucking insignia has eyes, keys and hands an shit

And like, it has no impact on the plot, they’re just some evil rich to overthrow, who happen to be an Illuminati order (also ye, the director made a boring-ass adult flick about Italian Masonry a few years later).

But that ain’t the most fucked thing.

The most fucked thing is that this kids flick had a scene where a king orders some lackey’s tongue mcfucking torn out. And like the last we see of the guy is a closeup of him writhing in a torture chair with two men forcing him to stay still. 

Ya kno, dat shit was disturbing as fuck, triggering afuck, so now we have a whole cluster of alters from this movie.
