t'pol: efficiency on the ship is down 3%
t'pol: the logical conclusion is that you all need to get laid.
t'pol: we must proceed to risa. at once.
odo is in enterprise???? not as odo but like the guy who plays him is also in one (1) episode of enterprise as a one-off character
i've never seen the guy without his odo face on before but i'd know that voice anywhere
Freaking out
Do you usually put margarine/butter on your bread before you make a sandwich?
Yes - USAmerican
No - USAmerican
Yes - elsewhere
No - elsewhere
See results (don't make sandwiches, etc)
the doctor from star trek enterprise should be shoved out the airlock
star trek enterprise is Obnoxious about vulcans so far but that is true of nearly all star treks at one point or another, and at least this one has the excuse of being way sooner after first contact than any other series, and the bigotry seeming to be the point, instead of just an impassioned argument that Emotions are required to be compassionate and treat people with decency
so i think my actual biggest complaint at this point is the theme song. what the FUCK is that. thats not star trek music. and why are there lyrics. how do i make that man shut up
some times your coworker is hideously late on a task and you can't do your task til they do THEIR task and they're so horrifically overworked that they don't get til their task til well after hours and a resource that YOU need to do YOUR task once they do THEIR task stops working at a certain time each day and SOME times they don't complete their task until after your resource stops working so you (already staying late because you are waiting on your coworker to finish their task) have to stay even later than you were already anticipating because you then have to do your work completely manually without any of your usual tools because all your tools require that resource to be working, and it isn't, because it's Too Dang Late
and on those times it is so very tempting to be mad at the coworker. but you must resist this. you must be mad at management instead. you must egg management's houses. you must arrive with pitchforks. you must demand that management cuts your coworker a goddamned break because it is THEIR fault your coworker is so hideously overloaded with tasks that you both had to work so fuckdamn late
An example of why one should use the Oxford comma.
LOL. I think they tried to fix it.
Nice try. Still no.
Wake up, babe, a new example of why the Oxford comma is a really good idea just dropped...
[Image descriptions: Image 1 is a Toronto Star book review headline that reads, "Sylvia Plath, a New York vigilante and Shah of Iran featured in latest historical fiction"
Image 2 is a retooled headline for the same article, now reading "The latest historical fiction books take inspiration from Sylvia Plath, a New York vigilante and Shah of Iran" with the subhead "We review 'Daffodil Days,' 'Lady X,' 'Love Lane' and 'Mistress of the Persian Boarding House.' Highlighted in yellow is the note, "Updated 16 hrs ago"]
It is amazing to me how many people in comics or shows discover a superhero's secret identity and then REVEAL it! Like???
If I found out my nice neighbor who helped me jumpstart my car at the god awful hour of 5am was Superman? NOBODY'S GETTING SHIT FROM ME I KNOW NOTHING!
a) bro can shoot lazer eyes
b) bro is minding his own business, I can do the same
c) The moment I start blabbing I get involved and I DO NOT want to be involved with the day to day life of a fuckin superhero. So I don't know shit, okay?
My lawyer's some vigilante. Sounds like a conflict of interest but what do I look like? A cop? My trash collector is a superhero? Anyway, thanks buddy, have a great one, say hi to the kids for me. I watched my waiter at McDonalds absolutely throw hands with a supervillain. That's crazy, anyway here's a 30% tip in cash. Good luck with those student loans.
Like I am not getting involved with ANYYYYY of that. Uh uh, no way, I don't see shit. I am just trying to make it to the end of the day without being kidnapped, held hostage, tortured, or interrogated and the best way to do that is keep. My. Damn. Mouth. Shut.
ate a lot today (actually a normal human amount, but a lot for me) and was beaming to myself about how im going to get a good grade in food, a thing that is normal to want and possible to achieve
happy Tuvok Tuesday, lads
[Image description: an edit of Tuvok from Star Trek: Voyager. He has flames and lightning all around him, one of the flames forming a growling tiger on his shoulder. He's been edited to be wearing black sunglasses as he looks at the viewer. Text above and below in a yellow to blue gradient says, "It is indeed Tuvok Tuesday." /end image description]
What do you think you're trying to understand about your story?
Dimension 20: Neverafter — Episode 9, “Origins”
#the allegory to Black boyhood Lou brought to this character is simply unmatched by any other adaptation of pinocchio. it's That Good.
almost said tuvok is the only motherfucker here i respect but thats a lie i also respect harry kim
everybodys so mean to my friend tuvok that when he wrote a holonovel security training exercise, he had it open with somebody calling him insufferable (the thought of spending years on a spaceship with him gives him a headache, holo!chakotay says), and when various crew members got to that bit none of them disagreed and when he revealed that HE was the one who wrote it and that he strove to make it as realistic as possible nobody seemed to register even in hindsight how sad it was that he thought it was realistic for others to laugh about how insufferable he was behind his back
how many times is star trek going to try to validate the personhood of a nonhuman character by way of romance arc. so far i count 2.5
So the thing you have to understand about doctor who the movie 1996 is that it isn't good. But it is the best film ever made. It has little to no outstanding qualities as a narrative and is such a wild read of doctor who that if you replaced a few proper nouns throughout it would just be a regular bad sci-fi movie. The fact the series survived it is the reason i'm not worried about canon or the shows future in the slightest. The pitch for it consists of some of the most insane lore retcons i've ever seen in my life, and the only major one to make it into the movie is generally considered so out of left field that people refuse to acknowledge it to this day. Literally nothing matters. The master is goo and also a lizard, seven gets gunned down in the street, paul mcgann is the first doctor to canonically get bitches. There's a motorcycle chase. Bad 90s cgi. the regeneration is a frankenstein reference. its camp. eight has his dogs out. it is somehow more american than you would expect. it features by far the best rendition of the main theme in the shows history. Who fucking cares man. 11/10
what shall i throw at ryland grace...

vasovagal syncope maybe. for fun. he's completely fine with needles but not so good with the sight of his own blood. i think he's never fully fainted about it, just sometimes gets woozy and has to Sit or Lie Down Immediately but he's still conscious and i think that technicality is very important to him because he's a little (a lot) embarrassed about it. definitely been teased for being such a delicate flower
once he's on the mary it switches. he's more OK with his own blood and wayyyy less okay with needles
after the physical + emotional stress of the Space Horrors i think he can develop Dizzy On Standing (this gives rocky several heart attacks)
osteoarthritis, because erid gravity hates human bones so bad
migraines
even after erid cures him of his eight thousand nutritional deficiencies i dont think his system ever fully recovers
