The technique: via the combined pressing of the correct finger joint, visualisation of the corresponding rune form while holding in mind the meaning you wish to call upon, including the sound of that rune, the practitioner has (literally) at their fingertips a method of "sending" runes in secret, for privacy's sake or when overtly using magick would be undesirable.

And as I stared into the crystals’ surface, I saw beside me two beings of great power, wreathed in smoke and the wriggling roots of great trees. When they spoke, it was guttural and dark, and a chill had filled the room, darkness creeping in from the corners.

“Temper your chaos, lest you lose control,” said the creature on my right.

The creature, left, spoke at distance, tasting foul, “Your chaos is a gift-“

“-CURSE!” The creature right screamed in my ear, “And one that will see the ruin of all!”

“Chaos is not a curse, Brother,” says the great spirit left, “You can use it-“

The voice came closer, hot breath in my ear, “TO START A WAR!” I flinched back, but my eyes never left the surface of the crystal, fearing what I might see, “Get revenge on those who have hurt you-“

I began to imagine it- to see a world left to burn in the wake of my revenge, my pure chaos. A power surged up inside my chest, burning hot like the fires of a great forge. I felt anger deep within my bones, ready to wage this war the creature spoke of.

“WOLF!” I hear the cry like shattering glass in a cave. It’s my familiar, an Owl, pulling me from trance. “It’s time to focus on a different rune.”

And here’s another of the planned rune-stave tattoo plans I’ve got. Oss, oration’s origin, the mouth from which wisdom flows. Also got a key image worked in there. So, between this and the torch imagery in the Cen image, I’ve got some Hekatean vibes going as well.

Low energy kitchen witchcraft idea:

Make small little thumbprint style cookies (even I, as messy and slow as I am take only an hour including cleanup and baking for these) and use a fork to draw runes or sigils on to them. You can interpret the runes when they come off the tray by where they land (if you flip the baking sheet over to dump them on the counter to finish cooling) and eat the ones hot that you wish to take in the properties of.
