WYRD RINGS FUTHARK CIRCLE
Elder Futhark Rune Art 2020.
These images continue an impromptu second cycle of rune art designs.
'Futhark_Runes' was the title of rune art originally created in 2003. In March 2020 the Red Runes Cycle were shared as the "Wyrd Runes Futhark Ring" collection scatter-shared across various social media platforms. Subsequently, in July 2020, these designs evolved once again into the 'Blue Runes Cycle: Wyrd Rings Futhark Circle Blue Runes' collection.
These images are shared to reflect a quiet emotional commentary to initiations / transformations experienced during 2020. What felt right creating the 'Red Runes Cycle' did not feel right a few months later. Thus, some suble new wood & blue bitmap textures later, a new Elder Futhark ring took shape with intriguing changes. This was particularly so with Inguz cast for the first time as the Anglo-Saxon stave design combined with a powerful calling from Ingvi/Freyr which is still being nurtured.
The central nine staves Wyrd at the centre of the design was inspired by an original by Jan Fries in "Helrunar" (Mandrake, Oxford1993). This unexpectedly became the new logo for Gifts of Heimdall Runes in July 2020.
Backgrounds for all the images were sourced from Tumblr, Pinterest and Flickr with kind appreciation to any originator if they recognise their picture. Images were created via Serif DrawPlusX8. All rune art shown on this blog & elsewhere were created for personal enjoyment and to honour the Runes deep "in my bones" with enduring inspiration provided by shared life footsteps with The Old Gods.
