Today I started Phase 2 of my 2017 wellness plan... by getting up at 4am to go to yoga before I ran. I have a great yoga studio right down the street, and I joined as an “unlimited member” this week. That means every day I am home I am getting my butt up at 4am to go to yoga, then run and walk the dog... all before 9am when I clock into my “real” job.
Running has given me really strong legs and glutes, but my upper body and core need some help... and of course, there’s my pesky left hip... grrrr. Yoga works all of that for me.
At this point, when I’m home i’m doing about 2 hours of work out every day. I can’t do that when I’m on the road, but I can when I’m here, and it feels really good. All of this is about prioritization and committing to meet my obligations... professional and personal. I still need to log my 8+ hours of work a day... which means I’m getting up at 4am to do the personal stuff. If I don’t do it early it won’t happen.
