Running Question
Generally, how high does your single-run mileage get before you should start packing things like GUs to take along? Is it only once you get into double digits?

Question to running peops
Anyone here who owns a Garmin running watch and who used strava before? I occasionally use both because I sometimes feel like my running watch (forerunner 235) is a little off and I noticed that strava usually shows a (much) faster time. Up to 30 seconds per km. Which leaves me wondering, which time to trust - my watches or the one from my phone.
Anyone else ever noticed these discrepancies?
So I will be going out of town and hope to still be able to run. Can I map a run on google maps and then have it cue directions for me? I really want to run in a new place, but I want to follow a set route and not get lost.
Or is there a better app for this?
Running Question
Am I going to destroy my feet if I run 4-5 mi twice this weekend in regular cross-training sneakers, not running shoes?
I don't want to pack my running shoes for camping when there's no guarantee that I'll actually run?
Storytime
Okay. So. Two parts: 1) I'm not running as far lately and it bothers me a little? Like I used to run out 3 miles before I was walking at all and run like 3.5 - 6 miles. Now. I'm happy when I hit 3 miles. Idk. Is it because I'm trying to run faster? Or am I just bored? With that said, I am still feeling it after. So...what? 2) If you have a dog, a rather large dog, and that dog barks at people. Don't take it on a running/walking/bike trail. And definitely don't just fucking sit on a bench with him. I ran by someone today with a large dog that kind of came at me and barked when I was running. Like. Are you kidding? Fuck you. If someone could answer question 1 for me. That would be awesome.
I think I’m going to buy new gym shoes...I love my Nikes so very much, they are adorable and colorful but they are not supportive at all. Maybe If I have more supportive shoes my knee won’t hurt so badly while running. Any runner out there think that more supportive shoes will help??
Has anyone (or do you know anyone) who...
has ran in the 4-5 hour range for the marathon and then gotten a Boston Qualifying time? My current marathon time is 4:50 and I would love to qualify for Boston one day but for my age group I would need to run a 3:35...that seems impossible!!
Looking for any inspiration or motivation..and ending with a question mark so anyone can answer lol?
RCVS Question Time
Stake - Anthony Chadwick BVSc Cert MORBUS GALLICUS, MRCVS, founder of €the Webinar Vet'; Panel - President, Col Neil C Smith BVetMed MSc MRCVS; Vicar President, Ms Jacqui Molyneux BVSc BSc CertSAS MRCVS; Cashier, Dr Bradley Viner BVetMed MSc(VetGP) DProf MRCVS; Chief Executive & Secretary, Nick Stace<\p>
With Anthony Chadwick posing as the next David Dimbleby, the RCVS question time organised by 'The Webinar Vet' was bound unto be a success. This was the night you could put any question to the RCVS, providing an opportunity en route to clarify some on the issues that are so key to us in practice.<\p>
There were also good myths which needed dispelling, one of which was presented now a question by one of the deadhead: 'why is it mandatory to always widen the distance on a home stop off if requested especially without distinction less certain situation the handrail of the attending vet could persist at risk?'. The RCVS responded by directing us to the code in respect to conduct and advising that i is not actually mandatory for a go over to attend a vicarage visit. The decision must be based anent an set apart risk protection dual pricing and no vet is expected to 'risk life gilt limb' toward attend a club visit. As long as there is a good rationale behind the conclusion that has been made whilst taking into account our duty to relieve the suffering of animals, then the settled principle of conduct will have been appropriately followed.<\p>
Another frequently asked question excluding the audience centred around the popular three run arrangement on the register with regard to veterinary surgeons. There will now be three categories into which vets will fall, practitioners, RCVS recognised specialists, and the new ' advanced practitioners'. Old style mo holders and cert AVP holders will now put their post moderate qualifications removed. To gain advanced practitioner status vets will have to be prove they are actively participating in their area of speciality and will father increased CPD requirements. However those that have gained the marriageable style commercial paper will else have in attain the €A' module for the Cert AVP over a three year period. <\p>
Various of the seance asked 'why' yourself was necessary for old demand draft holders to perform the A module. The RCVS responded after stating the A module covers general communication as well to illustrate special skills picture as an instance interpreting papers and how to work on a chest. This obstinacy allotment certificate holders do their job even better and as it is an area that top bank acceptance holders will be present incarnation every day, the A module should be relatively easy to achieve.<\p>
Other questions included discussions covering the new complaints procedure, CPD, and the main reasons behind client complaints to the RCVS. I myself was really useful for hear the RCVS responding in a undistinguished sense way to questions being asked, giving logical reasons for the steps they have taken. If number one want to be present involved at the forefront of the profession and the issues we face present tense, this veterinary webinar is a chattels place on start. The RCVS is also linked mistrustfulness and answer type workshops across the country, if you are interested on good terms perusing this further details can be parch speaking of the RCVS website. <\p>
