Make the treadmill your ally and you will get through the winter no matter how tough it is.
At some point this winter, almost all of us will get stuck on the treadmill. Here are some ways to make those workouts count just as much as your outdoor runs.
Oh..... Mike :)
Run Log
I ran week 4, day 3 of C25K today. The time change totally jacked up the beginning of the week for me, and today was the first day when I was able to wake up before 7.
It was kind of a bad run, so I tuned the speed down and just went.
I ordered some protein powder in peanut butter flavour from Quest Nutrition, and that arrived yesterday (I've been adding peanut butter to smoothies for a little fattiness and flavour, so it seemed appropriate). I also got a sampler pack of bars, since people seem to like them. I'm not a huge fan of drinking my meals, so bars may work better for me than smoothies. I'll try some of that out today. I haven't been getting enough protein and it has a profound effect on my skin and hair, so I need to do something about that. Fortunately it's egg season again so that will be a convenient source of protein.
Time: 32:00
Distance: 2.22 miles
Shoes: Altra
Pain: left knee was tweaky at the beginning of the run, warmed up by the first walk session so that's OK.
