Dreams
Only managed a quick alcohol marker doodle since I caught a cold and work has been crazy. The likeness got messed up because working with markers feels like drawing with my feet. It is... Approximate.
I chose poppies for two reasons, their symbolism for dreams and because Hans makes Henry pick poppies for his bouquet to give the bath wench.

Prompt #14: Attrition
For FFXIVWrite2022 Character: Erjon Sjadarwesfv Warnings: None
It was endless.
The constant feeling of death. Of pain. It was all around. It had been like this for more than forty years now. Viera may live long, but it was still a long time.
Erjon felt tired. So tired of this. This life. Endless battles, endless conquest, endless sorrow and fear wherever they went. âGlory to Garlemald.â Thatâs all that mattered in the end.
It wasnât often he thought back to the time before he ended up here. But now, when he was the only one left, it suddenly came to him. It was a faint memory, but a good one. A simpler life.
He truly was alone now. Everyone he had ever cared aboutâŠ
They were gone.
He was so tired.
âYou donât belong here, babyface.â Tiberius, his centurionâs voice, echoed in his head. âYou act tough, but itâs easy to tell. Itâs destroying you. If youâre now supposedly so damn smart⊠Get out of here while you still draw breath. You bunny folk are supposed to live long lives, right?â
Right.
Thatâs what he had said.
Erjon had been sitting behind one of the barracks for a while now. The gun rested in his lap. He could either grab it and head back out into the commotion, confront the enemy like he always did, throw his last care of life asideâŠ
No. He had made a promise.
He would not join them for a long⊠long time.
He got up.
And left.
Welcome to the Family V
âYou didnât have to kill her.â
Chris wasnât trying to challenge her. Just a comment made under his breath. Barely a whisper. But loud enough to break through the utter silence that had filled the car. Loud enough to gain Lazuliâs attention. Blue eyes now staring at him blankly.
âAre you defending . . . a serial killer?â
âNo, Iâm not.â
The answer came out almost immediately. To a question that was probably meant to fluster him in some way. Judging by the amused smile on her face as he returned her unwavering stare with one of his own. Even as his knuckles trembled and the lump in his throat grew.
âIâm just saying that there are other ways than vigilantism. You couldâve turned her in or something? Let the law take care of it.â
Her smile fell as her eyes darkened with disappointment. Leaning back in her seat, she turned her attention to the passing buildings outside.
âYou have any idea how naive you sound right now? How long do you think before she would break out, taking down as many officers as she could on the way out? You humans always seem to overestimate yourselves.â
âSo . . . youâre doing all this to keep us . . . safe?â
A laugh. Not every loud, but still sounding obnoxious as she turned back to him.
âIs that how itâs supposed to go in those picture books youâre obviously reading? Hello Nurse back there was making things difficult for us. Humans may be weak, but they can sure as hell be pretty damn annoying when stirred into a frenzy.â
The car halted as it pulled up at Chrisâ home. He moved to exit.
âBesides, it served a pretty good lesson I think.â
Hand on the handle, he froze in place. His neck putting up resistance as he peered over his shoulder.
âLesson?â
A smile. Innocent and child-like. Paired with her white hair and youthful face, it could almost be described as angelic. If he hadnât known better.
âJust a peek at what awaits you if you decide to out us. Of course, I canât imagine you or the other two putting up nearly as much of a fight.â
We interrupt your dead-Jesse-McCree-angst with some singing and dancing penguin entourages.

and you think "shit too far too far, let's take it down to forty"
