FUCK GUYS FUCK LOOK AT THEM. LOOK. AT. THEM. HSIAO LOOKS HOT NO- THEY ALL LOOK HOT (minus Aura) AND I AM REVIVED. THIS IS CONTENT REMINDING ME TG IS ALIVE I AM SCREAMING.
Nicole, i just caught up with whole rushima arc, and, was it because Ishida wanted to end vol9 with Furuta's declaration as king, that the pace felt a little rushed? Like,Ishida cut many scenes, to cramp it all up in 12chapters.. it's a shame imo, rushima had many potential plots to be explored, i wonder about many things there.. (well, at least he gave seiaki one chapter :D)
I was pretty much salty through out the rushima arc tbh. I was waiting for it for a while and the part with Tatara and Houji got on my nerves the most.
I won’t complain much. I know things were rushed, and little answers were provided, nevertheless, I still have hope that light will be shed over these details.
I doubt Higemaru will die until at least after there's been some sort of arc related to his sense of justice being challenged.
Maybe. But then, I think there may be plenty of opportunity for that waiting for him on Rushima...
I dunno. I just feel like the New Qs won’t be around for that long. They’re late additions and they haven’t really made much of a dent. They feel like the kind of characters who are introduced just to be killed off in the next big arc, tbh.
I don’t think that means they’ll be pointless - I think if nothing else, if they die it’ll deeply effect Urie and Saiko.
But also, Aura being a Q might be used to give us more of a glimpse into the higher echelons of the CCG. Kiyoko is the division leader of Division I. That’s an incredibly high up position. If something happens to Shinsanpei, we might get to see more of how the politics look that high up. We know little things - like that there’s a simmering Washuu fight, and that Yoshitoki doesn’t really trust anyone at the top other than Marude. That Matsuri is trying to make a power play and that he’s already insinuated as much to Marude at least (they are both Division II). But it’d be great to see a bigger picture, and Aura being a Q might be a way Ishida plans to segue into that part of the narrative.
And Xiao is from the garden, which needs exploring. So there’s that.
Higemaru only has this “sense of justice” thing going for him, but he is particularly close with Saiko, so anything that happens to him might effect her particularly strongly.
If you want my frankly messed up and twisted predictions, well --
Hmm, if Hachikawa's team was in danger, why didn't they just make a phone call to CCG to give the info before they K.O.? Why isn't any marine or helicopter backup to respond to any S.O.S signal? Heck, why didn't CCG use satellite to scout the island?
Yeah, I mentioned in my other post that the CCG doesn’t seem to be using tech to its fullest potential. Drone tech is at the point where they could have sent some pretty quiet stuff by land and/or air from a tiny boat pretty far out to get audio and visual.
Satellite imaging and high flying aerial photography could have, if nothing else, gotten them heat signatures. Because they were trying to be sneaky and not let Aogiri onto the fact that they were aware of activity on Rushima, a helicopter might have been out of the question, though cooperation with a civilian company could have easily made it look like they were doing a quick scenic tour if they wanted helicopter support nearby.I can understand why they didn’t make an actual phone call. They probably couldn’t have spoken clearly or loudly enough without getting detected, and once they were detected, they wouldn’t have had time to actually make one and talk clearly. But they probably should have had an SOS button or some other way to communicate yes or no information in life threatening situations. I mentioned in a post a while ago that the CCG also seems to skimp on camera and other recording tech as well. Investigators only have cameras or any recording devices on them if they are in full raid gear with helmets that include cameras. If Kaneki had had a recording device on him during the Tsukiyama Extermination Arc then they would have had Takatsuki right away. Really, Mutsuki and Hogi should have called while they were bandaging themselves up. There wasn’t any time before then. I don’t know if they did, but we certainly aren’t shown it.It would then come down to what the CCG training is in terms of what to do after escaping from a ghoul encounter. Is it first call for back up then tend to wounds or first tend to wounds and then call for back up. Assuming that they had any service in a cave on an abandoned Island, that is.I don’t know if this is just the culture in Japan* or if the CCG actually doesn’t have the budget for that kind of tech expansion, or if V doesn’t want the CCG to have the upper hand because of this kind of tech or what.Or it might just be that as an American, this kind of tech is so common place because police and private security militarization is so normalized. Politics aside, I can’t really say if my expectations for what kind of surveillance or weapons tech an organization like the CCG should have is really just based on the fact that the US is very, very invested, culturally in this kind of thing - both in real life and in media. All our TV shows give the heroes drones, so we kind of come to expect their availability. But that might be a very US centric bias.
*I apologize for once again using Cracked.com as a source. The article is from 2012 and probably not the best source for actually understanding Japanese culture, but it was what my mind pinged for the source of my information on the fact that some companies in Japan are not as tech crazy as the internet might make us thing Japanese companies are, so it’s the source I’m giving you in the name of intellectual honesty.
