Had a time off my life standing in that line for 3 hours just to draw a dick on a piece of paper
Russia Presidential Election Endorsement (satirical)
Sigh, it's time to vote for your candidates for the stupid fucking russian election that you can finally vote for because you were 16 last time
Putin - fuck no, He knows what he did
Kharitonov, some old dude who pretends to be Marxist for Soviet nostalgia - nope
Dude named Slutsky who has three different sexual harrasment cases (don't laugh it's not THAT funny) that were swept under the rug - FUCK NO, GET CANCELLED
Davankov, pseudo-liberal dude who is strangely progressive but in a Vermin Supreme kinda way (he promised every resident of Moscow a set amount of tile so they could re-brick roads themselves) - Sigh, I guess
Pretend you are a citizen of Russia who would YOU vote for?
Putin
Kharitonov
Slutsky
Davankov
President Vladimir Putin is yet to formally announce his plans to run for re-election next year, but he might already have an unlikely poten
" ...Why did I make this decision? I love our country, I want Russia to be a thriving democratic and peaceful state. But right now our country is moving in a completely different direction,” ... as an independent candidate with a pro-peace agenda, Duntsova is likely to face an array of challenges on the path to securing her place in the presidential race.
Russian electoral law first requires Duntsova’s candidacy to be backed by a 500-strong special interest group that must gather in a single place to endorse their nominee.
Duntsova’s team, which plans to hold the meeting in Moscow, doesn’t rule out that it could be broken up by the authorities, ..."
If something surprised me in the latest elections, it was not how Putin forged the results, but how obediently the almighty Big Tech turned into his accomplices. The giants Apple and Google have complied with the Kremlin's demands and removed our app from their stores. My beloved YouTube has deleted our video, and the Telegram messenger has blocked our bot. These programs, which Putin calls "extremist", only contained information about opposition candidates in your constituency. By law and common sense, each of us has the right to campaign for voting (or not voting) for any candidate. In our case, the very intention to organize voters in order to put competitive pressure on the ruling party was declared criminal, and Big Tech agreed with this. This means that it recognizes the right of an authoritarian thief to subjugate the Internet, turning it into an instrument for seizure of power. It's one thing when the Internet monopolists are ruled by cute freedom-loving nerds with solid life principles. It is completely different when the people in charge of them are both cowardly and greedy. One of the modern challenges is that false prophets now come to us not in sheep's clothing, but in hoodies and stretched jeans. Standing in front of the huge screens, they tell us about "making the world a better place", but on the inside they are liars and hypocrites. The media write that the Kremlin forced Big Tech to make concessions by showing them a list of their employees to be arrested. If so, then keeping silent about it is the worst crime. This is encouragement of a hostage-taking terrorist. I know that most of those who work at Google, Apple, etc. are honest and good people. I urge them not to put up with the cowardice of their bosses. I can't help but say that I am terribly upset and disappointed with Pavel Durov from Telegram. I didn't expect to see him on the list of Putin's "blockers". Not too long ago, I spoke at a rally against the Kremlin's blocking of Telegram itself. And I would have done it again, by the way. The fact that someone betrays their principles does not mean that we should doubt ours.
Alexei Navalny in a Twitter thread on September 23, commenting on the cowardice and greed of Big Tech companies who blocked SmartVoting materials from the Internet at the behest of Vladimir Putin. This cowardice helped the widespread cheating during last week’s parliamentary ‘elections’.
Fun Fact 405
Until 2006, Russian voters had the option of voting “against all”, a special ballot option open to voters in some countries to allow voters to indicate their disapproval of all the candidates. It is usually used as a protest vote, not against democracy, but against the way politics is run in a country. The option was removed in Russia after the 2003 legislative election as it was becoming too popular with only one party receiving more votes than it in the elections for single-member districts.
Ok so is gonna win Putin or Putin?
One of these things is definitely not like the others:
Russia and Belarus are authoritarian states that haven't held fair, free elections in decades.
Vladimir Putin is a dictator who maintains his power through intimidation, political assassinations and sham elections.
And Putin's puppet, Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, literally described himself as "Europe's last dictator."
And anything bad you can say about Ukraine goes quintuple for Russia and Belarus — except for the fact that the Ukrainian army isn’t bombing & mass murdering innocent civilians, and they haven’t invaded another country; and they aren’t committing mass rapes in the cities of their adversaries; and the Ukrainian army also is not abducting thousands and thousands of Russian children and placing them into filtration camps to “reeducate” them into a foreign culture; and and and
Ukraine was not in NATO nor was it applying for membership when Putin invaded. And God help you if you’re dumb enough to believe Putin invaded because he wanted to “denazify” Ukraine. JFC. Do you believe George Bush invaded Iraq because he wanted to find WMDs and spread democracy too?
If you can just hand wave & excuse away all of those Russian war crimes because “communism” or “NATO expansion” or “America bad,” then maybe you should re-examine your priorities.
