We got a happy, friendly, but lonely girl who tries to avoid being spotted in public. (Ruth)

Then we have a not-so-happy student that becomes protective of the loner after meeting her. (Cassandra)

The loner is pretty much the only person that can get her to smile.

Some Ruth back story:

She doesn't really have a 'home', more of a 'safe spot' where she lives. She ran away from home during her first year of attending Hexside after over hearing her parents talking about her (about something I'll talk about more later).

She's pretty much been getting by in a cave while doing odd jobs to get money for what she needs. She doesn't go to school anymore, she hasn't had any kind of communication with her parents since she left-

She's alone.

Some Cassandra back story:

She decided to go exploring one day, looking for different plants in a book that she had about potions. She ended up needing to take shelter in a cave that she found because it started raining. Ruth was in there, sitting at her 'table' (a rock that was flat enough to safely put things on) while her dinner was boiling over a fire.

Cassandra was considering running away from this, but she clearly wanted to avoid the painful rain more than she wanted to run away from this girl.

Ruth told her that she could stay in the cave as long as she needs and invited her to dinner.

The rain didn't stop for a long while, so she ended up accepting her offer and they ate together while they chatted.

She ended up becoming curious and interested in her. She even ended up traveling back to the cave every Friday after school and Saturday around noon to visit.

Learning about the reasons why she ran away and ended up living all by herself in this kind of situation caused her become protective of her.

She secretly studied different kinds of magic in an attempt to gain more magical skills that can be used for a variety of things that can come in handy for her and Ruth.

Once the school allowed Luz to study all the different types of magic, Cassandra managed to do the same thing. Before that, she was in the Abomination course. Now that she's allowed to study more types of magic, she can freely practice at home. Before that, she would only practice the different types of magic out where Ruth lived, where she had more privacy. But since the school is allowing her study more types of magic, her parents decided to let her practice more at home, too.

She works herself to get better and better with her magic, especially healing magic for Ruth. She does her best to find more ways to use the different types of magic for self defense and battle, so she can protect herself and Ruth from anything or anyone that might want to hurt them.

As you might imagine with all that was said, she doesn't want to join a coven, because she doesn't want any of her magic to be locked away. She wants to be helpful and useful in as many ways as possible and having access to all of her magic will make things much easier.

She's not really admitting this to anyone but Ruth, but you can imagine what problems might pop up for her by just looking at Eda. Aside from the whole...curse thing.

I'll talk more about Ruth's reasons for running away and the effects that they had on her that ended up attracting Cassandra in another post.

Here's a doodle of Ghirahim and one of my OCs!

I almost never draw my original characters, and I almost never draw more than one person in any given picture, so this has been a fun little way to challenge myself!

It was also fun to play around in my art program rather than just sticking to the same brushes and techniques I always use.

I begin this ask by paying the Lime Tax (tm) but I’ve been in a OPOC discord server for a little while now so I have New Fun Ruth Things to share

Ruth finds the fact that so many people are so freakishly tall very annoying. She’s alright with people being a bit taller than her but this is excessive. (This is part of the reason she hates Doflamingo)

She’s also wary of Den Den Mushi. Doesn’t like how their little eyes follow you or the fact that they seem aware all the time…

Also canonically her original Universe is now different than ours in that Dodos and thylacines are still around, at the cost of two sea sponges.

Extra host club thing because the Genderswap thing bit my brain- Ruth’s allowed in those nights but she has to wear a muzzle. Because her Zoan instincts get amped up when she’s a guy, she ‘accidentally’ might have bitten a guy who tried to feel someone up (nonconsentually ofc) before any of the bouncers could handle it and now the owners insist on it. She usually just hangs around the club during hosting hours though (she supplies rare liqueurs at suspiciously low prices, so they’re happy to keep her happy)

I love Ruth. I too think there are entirely too many freakishly tall people in One Piece, and not nearly enough ladders for which to climb all of them. XD

And yeah, I could see the muzzle requirement being put forth. She's probably not the only one that has some manner of limitation during specific events. The Owners don't often outright ban or bar someone from the Club except in rare circumstances.

being blacklisted can be a real issue for some people, and many business won't do business with anyone the Club has turned away that harshly. Not by request of the Club, but just because they have that much impact on the social and market scene.

Quill's not officially in the Host Club AU, but they'd be happy to "walk" Ruth around and find people who want to be bit, to help sate that need during Get Bent! events /nod nod/
