finally played around with a huggins design!! ft some writing !! bc i was thinking to myself. what if huggins looked a little bit like kai and rhat’s why grif took a liking to her !!
“Well that’s a bummer!” Huggins said, woefully undermining the entire situation with just four words.
Grif tore his gaze away from the now empty cliff, an afterimage of the portal lingering in his eyes when he blinked and affixed his attention on the alien hovering nearby.
He swallowed dryly as he took in her form, it was glittering. Almost brighter than the portal.
Apparently Huggins took notice of the scrutiny and turned to face him, a somewhat sorrowful smile on her face. Hesitantly, as though approaching a wild animal, she drifted closer, dimming her glow as Grif squinted.
With the alien no longer competing with the blackpool illuminations, Grif could take a moment to figure out what he was actually seeing.
Suspended in the air by some inconceivable alchemy was a being with the appearance of a relatively young woman. The areas of visible dark skin were warm and positively full of energy, complimented by a somewhat chubby frame that implied a comfortable life at the very least.
Across rounded cheeks and the gently sloping bridge of her nose were a myriad of shimmering white freckles like stardust had fallen from the heavens. They complimented irises of shifting hues, cycling through pale shades of cornflower, lavender and buttercup.
Similarly, the tips of her hair shifted in the same fashion, akin to a chameleon the strands faded between the pastel shades and twirled in the air on some unseen current about her shoulders.
Crowning her head were two shapes, seemingly approximations of spacebuns. That nearly made Grif laugh.
Space. Aliens. Really, when did his life get so strange.
But instead of hair, they appeared to be flares of light themselves, too bright to stare directly at without wincing.
Grif wouldn’t have been all that surprised if the being before him suddenly sprouted wings and a halo, it seemed as though she was one wary look away from proclaiming ‘be not afraid!’
And yet, there was still something oddly familiar about her.
Grif couldn’t place his finger on it. Perhaps it was her cheeky smile, innocent enough on the surface but hiding more intelligence than she let on.
Maybe it was her ridiculous response, goading him into agreeing only to utter confusion moments later as the full comment sank in.
Or it could’ve just been the similar hairstyle.
Regardless, Grif had just been stranded in ancient Italy and a new brotherly instinct had just been awakened in him.
(watch as I create an entire scenario in which Church is un-killed, just to bring back the other AI Fragments, because Theta is my favorite, and I want him to interact with all the other characters! also, the combo of him and Huggins would be unstoppable)
