Could you do Cloudberry and/or Ryewhisker? :>
Ryewhisker and Cloudberry - Warrior of WindClan and Warrior of RiverClan
Ryewhisker: "Do you think our kits will be able to run fast and swim?"
Cloudberry: "How did you know? I... I was going to tell you, I promise, but I wasn't sure how you'd feel. I thought you might want WindClan kits..."
Ryewhisker: "They will be WindClan kits! And RiverClan kits! They will be ours, and that's all that matters!"
- Ryewhisker and Cloudberry, Code of the Clans
Ryewhisker and Cloudberry (RiverClan) from Warriors
They are bi4bi and you can't prove me wrong
decided to draw hypokits for Cloudberry and Ryewhisker from Code of the Clans! I don't think we ever saw their actual kits
I wish that we got to see more of the cats from Code of the Clans, I think it would be interesting to follow a character who was part of why a new rule in the Warrior Code got added and what they thought and felt about that rule getting added because of what they did.
Of fandoms, Codes and Criticism: Warrior Cats and Star Wars(Longread)
Of course. Only Anakin suffers from those rules.
So we are gonna ignore Whie Malreux identifying his first love — the purest feeling considered in human culture — with Dark side of the Force and think that his best friend will betray the Order and kill him because of this. Ignore Obi-Wan being forced to break with Siri Tachi in Legends and with Satine Cryze both in Legends and Canon. Ignore Qui-Gon and Tal not being able to express their mutual feelings openly. Ignore Quinlan Vos being forced to break up with Shylar in the same age as Obi-Wan and Siri. Ignore Mak Lotor and Kass Todd confessing their mutual feelings only in the wake of their death. Ignore Lorana Jinzler's parents being fired from the Temple once their daughter was made a Jedi. Ignore Arrren Kai being exiled from Order for having a daughter.
Ironically, i remember another series with the same rules touching human... sorry, cat relationships.
Warrior Cats and their Warrior Code. Especially this two rules.
You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle(banning cross-clan realtionships).
Medicine cats may not have a mate or kits, as they must be able to heal all cats equally.
Erins attempted to make the precedents for this rules, but better they did not. The precedents look as dumb as Jedi apologists attempts to paint Anakin as the vile villain who desired the Dark Side as whole, not caring for Padme at all and using her only for a pretext.
Precedent number one. Ryewhisker(Windclan) being blamed for falling for Cloudberry(Riverclan) and therefore not being truly loyal to his clan(not even attacking his clanmate, but attempting to tell him he should not harm a pregnant she-cat, while being killed by Riverclan warrior). Not his Riverclan killer who attacked the cat who was not fighting, not Emberstar, who started the battle by accusing Windclan of stealing fish(while Riverclan cats being only ones who can catch and eat it) or bringigng pregnant she-cat to the battlefield. Ryewhisker is one to blame, because he cared too much about his beloved Cloudberry and wanted for their kits to be bridge between Windclan and Riverclan. Yes, he is totally awful and misguided(unlike sainty Emberstar). Meh.
Moth Flight being so depressed after Micah's death that she decided no medicine cat should have a couple as she never has(while pressing Acorn Fur into obeying this rule). Moreover, in order to do so, she abandoned her children... sorry, gave them to adoption to four another clans even the said kits asked her not to do so. Wonderfull girl though(who attempted to send innocent she-cat(who was manipulated into having cross-clan relatioship, for which she would not be shamed if Moth Flight would not install this rule and at least attempted to be good mother) to Dark Forest(Warriors equivalent for hell)).
If you will think about this rules in context they are quite strange. How clans could live in peace if their members should not be close to eachother? (Not even touching mathematical and biological problems, with all clan population not being large enough for even recreation of population). Why it would not be better to have cross-clan relatioships as counterweight for warhawks of each clan? And how having mate and kids would not allow medicine cat to heal everybody in the clan equally? I get that she-cat medicine cat may die at labors and leave her clan without a medicine help, but what about tomcats? They can not got pregnant and there is no trouble with them having kits.
Ironically, the Warrior Code lead to the creation of the most vile villains of the saga. Mapleshade would not have become a loner and killer, if Thunderclan had not exiled both her and her kits, and the said kits would not die at the storm. Brokenstar would have a better chance to become a good cat, if his mother was not pushed away from him by Sadgewhisker(and i am not gonna start that Sagewhisker may have been one who killed his sisters by causing a huge stress for their mother while the latter was pregnant). There are exceptions like Tigerstar and Hawkfrost, but they are not actually the most open villains of the saga, and even they were influenced. Mapleshade was the first cat who started entering into the dreams of living, Brokenstar is the true battle leader of the Dark Forest. And both of them were creations of Sadgewhisker, who pressured young Yellowfang to abandon her dream of becoming warrior and mate of Raggedpelt, and Ravenwing, who outed Larchkit, Patchkit and Petalkit as the halfbloods which lead to them being exiled with their mother and drowning.
So, it's better to think that there were no such rules in Starclan and therefore, both no Brokenstar and Mapleshade.
Hopekit and Wishkit(Brokenstars sisiters) would not die. Rainflower would not die. Willowbreeze and Graypool would not be kidnapped as the kits. Silverstream would not likely die, Leafpool would not be left alone and pregnant as the young girl, Crowfeather would not be pushed to be the mate of Nightcloud and father of unwanted kit in order to «prove loyalty to the Clan». Bluestar would not go mad at the end of her life. Graystripe would not have to choose between being with his kits to raise them and living in Thunderclan. Crookedstar's mate Willowbreeze would live, as his daughters Willowkit and Minnowkit. Brightflower's kits would not be killed, as well as Badgerfang and many kits made apperntices before their time.
But what about Anakin, you may say?
Anakin is the same person as Brokenstar and Mappleshade - a victim of rules and culture, and organization who proved a failure to him since, you know, a lot of time. At war and even prior to it, he had seen that it institution does not even has its own agency, never helps ordinary people in trouble and never at all att.
At war, he learned that goodie-goodie Jedi are really ready to throw a youngster under the track and be fine with(Padawan Pack case when the bunch of undertutelated Padawans who were sent to the battlefront(instead of guarding convoys on way better protected lines, like students of military academias did at wars IRL) and dying here(with the Council members who got wonderful idea never feeling sorry for those kids and youngsters(one of KIA padawans was 13 years old girl), Luminara being fine with Ahsoka and Barriss dying under the rubble, Jedi not even attempting to track the Trandoshan bounty hunters who were kidnapping younglings and padawans for the hunt, and Jedi Council giving Ahsoka up to the Republic Jury and nearly getting the girl executed(without even attempting to study problem behind "Ahsoka is the bomber" narrative)). Not even starting with the whole war problem, and how it were held by them, both ethically and in terms of allies.
Anakin is the product of being raised by institution which deems toxic even love betwenn child and his caretaker. Research has indicated that the changing of multiple care-givers in institutional care is detrimental to the ability of children to learn to from healthy relationships. This can lead to social difficulties later on. The Jedi nursery we have seen has a bunch of babies all lined up with multiple different care-givers. When the children are about three, by human standards of development, they are placed into clans and handed off to the next care-giver who is in charge of the clan. If that master were to leave, there would be a new one. This instability can be harmful. Not to mention his slave past which was never adressed by Jedi in Legends and made a base of bullying in Canon, the whole grooming by Palpatine, CPTSD and so on...
Does it absolves him of his crimes as Vader? No. Just as nothing absolves Brokenstar from his deeds, as well as Mapleshade. But it at least allows us to understand what moved them to act in such a way. And Anakin held and fared better than both of them.
But the fandoms reply to it is vastly different.
WC fandom reacts to what Erin says this more criticism. They are not above calling them out for a huge number of retcons, charachters OOC, misoginy, writing abusers as persons being right, relatioship writing, worldbuilding troubles and so on... And argument of "Well, only Leafpool and Yellowfang suffered In their mind, Starclan is not immune to the criticism. The Warrior Code is not immune to changes. Even Erins understood this and made the new rules in Code, which, in fact, allowed cross-clan couples!
But the Jedi Order is so wonderful culture!!!! They of course should not change!!!
Guys, if only...
