Oh boy... please, for the sake of everyone involved please do NOT give this woman pets to take care of... She can barely be assed to take care of her flesh prison and so tends to be a husk of a human that only care about acquiring knowledge & doing mad scientist shit in her garage 40 (good days) to 85 (bad days) percent of her time... Honestly if Rena and her other friends weren't around I do not know how she'd not starve to death because she pushed eating down her priority list for 5 days in a row and now she doesn't have the energy to go get food or because her heart finally gave out after her 98th cup of coffee without anything else consumed in-between in the past 3 days.
For the sake of humoring more of the ask and theme though, if she does not have to care for it and only gets the upside of enjoying a little critter's company, I think Lana would be very partial to :
Snakes ! They don't move around a lot and feel nice so she'd love keeping them hanging around her while working / studying and they'd probably love being on her because she always runs hot. Also she'd love their little tongue poking out to sniff around, very cute... they honestly probably remind her of Rena too so that's even more added bonus.
Cats... AS LONG as they understand the very hard rule that the desk is off limits. There is too much either fragile, precarious or dangerous shit going on up there... But she would absolutely enjoy curling up on the couch with a cup of tea and a kitty on her lap to read.)
Aaaand not much more x,) Aesthetically she appreciates birds but they are far too stinky and dirty for her... and Rena would probably have a (well trained) dog so Lana appreciates it too but it's just not her thing... Still cute though.
