Spider-Monkie!
Lego Monkie Kid AU where MK isn’t... you know... Monkie, but is in fact just a regular guy, except I just watched Across the Spider-Verse so he gets bit by a radioactive spider and in true fanboy fashion decides to call himself Spider-Monkie. Unsure of the sequence of events here but I figure with his spidey-strength he IS capable of knocking Wukong’s staff off of DBK, but not enough to actually properly pick it up, and in the chaos tries to grab what he thinks is the staff but is in fact a prototype weapon Red Son had been working on that ends up being a bo staff webslinger!
Like in canon he still ends up going to Wukong for help but the Monkey King is just like LOL, Spider-Monkie! He does end up being MK’s mentor though despite their powerset differences, because a) MK still has the hefty metabolism, pain threshold, and enhanced healing typical to spider-people so Wukong doesn’t need to worry about accidentally crushing him and b) if he didn’t, MK’s use of a spider-ified version of his logo would be copyright infringement and lastly c) they’re bros! They’re pals! Wukong thinks this kid is great!! And largely plot goes as in canon at least for the first few seasons.
MK is still TERRIFIED of spiders - even moreso now that he’s been BIT by one (he cried like a baby when it happened) - which is absolutely hilarious when he encounters, you know, the Spider Queen.
MK also definitely still fights like Wukong, since he’s his mentor, just adapting to use his more spider-like powers. He would be pretty terrifying if he wasn’t plagued by the Spider-Man wisecracking curse. For his design I’m not too sure what his superhero outfit would look like - if he’d even bother creating a full one or just stylizing his day outfit - but I imagine even if he were to create a full suit, he’d be like Pavitr Prabhakar and keep his hair out for the AestheticTM.
