My over analyze of S1x10

im boring during winter break, so i did my over analyze again on dr. melendez’s relationship with shaun to boost this ship.

first, im surprise that the fact hes the only one in this ep kept asking how’s shaun hadn’t been bring up constantly. 

when shaun was late the first time they went see bobby, melendez didnt scold him but asked him is everything ok. then when jessica asked him how is the vip patient, he immediately shared worry of shaun which is not what jessica was asking at all.

Later with glassman, he asked about shaun again.

But as glassman replied, shaun’s work was fine so its not about work its just his own concern of shaun in personal level. 

And i dont think he didnt respect shaun. i think he just genuinely dont respect most of people cuz his ego. this is a person who basically called his future father in law a parasite in front of his fiancee, he believes nothing but himself.

So i actually think he already showed much more believe in shaun than to others. like during surgery, when he asked shaun what did he see, he used shaun’s observation as an inspiration, though he still held the final judgement power to himself, but it did show that he sees shaun as a almost second chair to him.

Compares to glassman actually showed no respect to shaun’s capability in the same ep, makes me keep thinking of that ep with the wife and parents arguing who knew the man better. shaun dont need therapy, he just needs some friends. like he already told glassman, he dont want people he didnt know to analyze him, so in rephrase, hes ok for someone he knew. n i think melendez might be heading that way.

i do feel like they would be a great complement to each other. one is strong outside but might fragile inside and probably cant handle failure well cuz he rarely had. the other is an opposite cuz shaun has been overcome obstacles all his life and i think melendez could gain strength from shaun on that. not to say i love watching them stimulating each other with new ideas.

But melendez didnt show his care to shaun (yet) so im not sure if shaun would notice or he would think andrews is a better person than melendez cuz andrews acted nicely to him before. i think it might be a thing later, if melendez finally gonna against andrews, or something like that make shaun has to choose his loyalty...
