SOMETIMES, SHE WONDERED ABOUT HIM--how he seemed to hate her one moment, and yet asked such questions the next. Part of her could even wonder if this is anything like how own twin had once felt, for even as a human, Michikatsu too had followed the push and pull of the moon, unable to remove one side of her emotions in favor of the other.

They had always warred within her, even now.

“Of course,” the answer still comes easily, hands neatly resting upon the swell of her stomach. “I do not forget so easily--a century from now, and I will still remember.”
