Me at the start of Priory of the Orange Tree: Okay so, this Queen Sabran is seen as an almost religious figure by her kingdom, this is a mixture of theocracy and Right of Kings And she is respected as the descendant of these two ancient figures
Me at the end of Part 1 of Book 1: She is not. Oh god she is not. She is a decoration. Her authority is not hers, but it belongs to this man who has been dead for so long. Oh God, she is the last in a long line of daughters and mothers who lived and ruled. yet not a one of them was seen as the queen. not really. only as a reinforcement of this man. Only as a way to secure yet another heir to keep his memory alive. It calls itself a Queendom, it speaks of queens who ruled for a thousand year. Yet the one who matters was The Saint. yet the first of the quees was a trophy for The Saint. Reduced to a helpless Maiden for the Hero to save. the person who the kingdom actually values is someone else.
family photo! i LOVE when her ears are up omg she had crime ears all day today. and at one point everyone collectively had just their left ear up 😂
