do we think el’s turn toward self-sacrifice at the end of s5 comes from seeing billy choose it first. are we really considering the impact he had on how she thinks everything with the upside down has to be solved. do we consider the parallels between them. both of them in their final moments reaching back into their memories to the person they loved most, letting that love be the last thing they feel as they give up their life to save a world that was harsh and unkind to them, seeing themselves as people who can no longer live inside of it because of what they've been through. do we.

last semester i wrote an essay for my film and literature class about Band of Brothers, more specifically about Liebgott’s role as a translator and the ethics of war. for it i had to listen to an interview with a jewish american veteran on his experience in the war, and now i can’t stop thinking about Joe and how fucking scary it must have been.

specially because the guy in the interview talks about a day when he and a few comrades had to hide from the germans in some flower bushes. the germans ended up stabbing the bushes with their bayonets (thankfully not hitting anyone) before leaving, but he kept mentioning how all his friends were super worried about him being found and taken prisoner, because he was jewish.

i know we all talk about the scene in the labor camp and how heartbreaking it is, but fuck, Lieb must have been terrified from the start.

just imagine him going missing for just a few hours—like Bull in holland—and how fucking worried the men from Easy would be, all the thoughts invading their minds, all the terrible possibilities…

corvus refusing to hide his horns, his tail, his natural eye colour almost brought me to tears because you can really read it as a metaphor for masking. the way he is unapologetically himself and doesn’t mask his autistic traits or pretend to be 'normal' even if it has proved to leave him without friends.

Sad Hours: Ongsa was very purposely trying to set Sangneua up with Nakhin. If Nakhin decided to help Sangneua with his heat, Ongsa’s heart would be protected bc of course an alpha would choose an omega over a beta. It’s his stubborn fears held into place that he won’t get hurt if he just follows the rules. He’s not good enough for an alpha bc he’s not an omega. Since he’s not an omega, he doesn’t have to be worried about an alpha leaving him for one if he doesn’t even engage to begin with. For Ongsa, it’s a matter of time.

Why spend all that energy when it’s inevitable, after all?

Ongsa has a lot of trauma to work through with Nakhin 😭
