Chapter 30 is up!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
about to drop literally the sickest insider knowledge you will ever receive pls use it responsibly:
are you a teenager? do you wish you had the space & resources & organization to do a thing, whether that's an anime club or a movie night or a big craft workshop or creative writing group or literally whatever? would you like to do your thing totally for free? yes?
okay, then bring it up to a librarian
seriously, teenagers are the absolute hardest group to engage at most libraries & we'll often organize programs that absolutely no one will show up to & it sucks. if you go up to a public librarian & say "hey, some friends & i want to do this thing. does that sound like a feasible teen program for the library?" most people will move heaven & earth to pull it off for you because we know there's an interest in our community. we will go balls to the freaking wall to make it happen
do you want a cosplay contest? a video game tournament? a free escape room? bring it up to the library. it's not a burden or an annoyance at all. it'll be like christmas came early for us

Iām not sure I should meet my idols ever. I canāt pay much attention to Bible mostly bc heās shirtless half the time and makes me loose my grip on religion (yes ironic itās still so powerful I have to spray myself with a water bottle like Iām a cat.) Both Bible and Build I would have to be like āwell you see Iāve written more than 300k about youāI mean your CHARACTERSā (hopes and prays they donāt see my smut)
With Jame and Folk how could I possibly be like āoh yeah I wanted your child even though in the show neither of you are 23 yet. I just wanted you to beat Nakhun and Phatsaā
Ao3 and tumblr are the only places Iām allowed to be unhinged atm. I need it, otherwise who knows why Iād be saying. I CAN behave but I do need my unhinged space
Wanting a fictional coupleās child already puts me in the running for āsimilarities with Rumplestitzkinā and Iām pretty chill with that honestly. itās been a long day.

they're called "bootlickers" because when there's a boot stomping on their neck they lean forward to kiss it
as soon as i clicked post i realized damn that's such an evocatively erotic description, i should be using this sort of language about noble kinksters, not wasting it on class traitors
How could you leave this in the tags!!!

Phatsa: keep your quadruped animal dick in your pants, Nakhun, if I see a HINT of red weāre never having sex again
we all know adult humans dont get enough enrichment but the other day i was walkin home past an empty playground and impulsively ran over to spin myself on this zipline merry-go-round contraption for a few minutes and it really did feel like it unlocked some neglected part of my brain. like damn we really should all go outside and play more. fuck. they werent kidding with this play time thing. have you guys heard about play time. it could be huge.
EXCELLENT work everyone 10/10
I just realized something.
Weāve talked about how, for Nakhun, finding and mating Phatsa is the most romantic thing he could imagine.
Letās break down WHY that is.
Nakhun grew up in a highly dysfunctional household. His father is controlling and deeply unhappy in his marriage. Itās arranged and he didnt even mate her. (correct me if you have other info)
His father is abusive to the whole family, make no mistake. Nakhun grew up in an atmosphere of fear.
He learned from watching his parents. There was (Iām assuming) no love in that marriage. It was duty and legacy for the father.
I believe that Nakhun never thought heād have another choice. Heās the heir, the one whoād have to carry on the bloodline, probably from another woman CHOSEN FOR HIM, no matter who he fell in love with. His father didnāt choose love. He probably always felt like heād never get that, too.
This is probably why he only had sex workers sent to his hotel rooms. He didnāt want to get his hopes up only to be devastated and end up as angry as his father.
Enter Phatsa, his FATED MATE. Phatsa saved him from all of this, and whatās more, Phatsa is the one who will guarantee that heās loved. He will have the life that he could have never imagined but, I suspect, always wanted.
And now he could have a family, a mate, a CHOICE in what his life looks like? Of course this is a dream for him.
Plus he is moving incredibly fast in his relationship because of this too. In the series timeline (I think) it hasn't been more than what a few weeks since Phatsa moved in with them. All the while Nakhuns dad has made it incredibly clear over and over again that he doesn't want Phatsa there and instead wants his sons to mate 'pure omegas' soon.
It could either be a deep desire to Nakhun to get Phatsa pregnant because as soon as he is HE CAN'T LEAVE HIM. Even if he would try, they have a child and would share the custody aka they would still see each other all the time. His dad can't disagree either because it would be a legitimate heir and the first born at that. No one would be able to "touch" Phatsa and their child.
OR he wants to spite his dad. Simple as that. A deep, deep desire to show him how happy Nakhun is and how his dad will never achieve that ever again. That Nakhun loves his little family and his dad can die trying to pull them apart. Nakhun knows about his dad's past but he is determined to not to the same thing he did and do anything for the familys reputation.
Those are my little theories š¤
Nakhun is well aware that the monster is among them. Heās constantly considering politics to protect Phatsa from his father. You see it in Nakhin too: he immediately points out that if their father learns that Phatsa is a pure omega, heāll never know a moment of peace, just be a baby machine for the rest of his life.
They handle family like itās a damn board room. And they have to.
My recap of Knot ep 7 as someone who is not watching the show but has a tumblr account:
Ok so today our guys go see a doctor to check if little guy is pregante. The doctor runs a bunch of tests and tells them that little guy is not pregante. Big guy is like ā¹ļø Little guy is like āHell yeah motherfuckers!! Swing and a miss!!!ā They go home to their little sex pillow fort and little guy is beaming, heās over the moon. He wonāt have to push a baby out of his butt! yet He proceeds to console his boyfriend with a very enthusiastic bj. Ah, the lighthearted insouciance of a boy who has not yet had an inflatable penis locked inside him and releasing cum like a firehose. We also check in with the other couple, theyāre doing weird things with tangerines.
@pointlesscandies you havenāt made any false claims about my viewing habits yet, are you mad at me
Now that we know that Phatsa isnāt pregnant, Iām COUNTING on Sangneua-gets-pregnant-first agenda.
Irl I would be like NO they are way too young to have a child that changes their lives
But in fiction. Knock that omega up
ITS SO GOOD!!!!

SloMo WriNo: Check Your Ego at the Door
Letās talk about writer ego.
You might say you donāt need to. That you have no ego about your work. You already know itās terrible!
Okay. Great. So why arenāt you finishing it?
Go ahead! Finish it!
Why arenāt you doing it? āWhatās that?
Because it's not good enough? And you can't finish something bad?
Why does that matter?
Oh waitā Now you're saying it has to be great to be worth finishing?
Hello! Now we've met your writer ego.
While taking pride in your work and wanting to do your best is a good thing, if itās stopping you from actually making progress, then itās not a good thing anymore. Itās an out of control writer ego.
If that doesn't make sense to you, let me tell you a little story.
I have a friend that Iāve been teaching to knit. Sheās not a natural, but sheās learning. Or she was.
Unfortunately her progress is stalled by a problem she's having. She canāt seem to finish anything. Why? Because she canāt let a single error go, and thus everything she starts gets pulled undone sooner or later.
She frequently complains that her work is not āgood like yours.ā
Like mine? The work of someone who learned to knit at five years old. The work of someone who has a natural gift for fine motor control, and has spent most of her life building skills related to that? That personās work?
Her joy in learning is ruined by her ego, which is forcing constant comparison to a master of the craft.
She doesnāt think her knitting is good enough to finish and in fact ends up hating it and ripping it apart because itās not āgoodā like my work is.
Would you say thatās a healthy way to think? Or a good way to learn?
When I say it like that it sounds silly, right? Why would someone working on their first project expect it to be as well executed as something made by someone who is a master of the craft?
Any reasonable person would tell my friend that in order to gain that higher level of craftsmanship and skill that she desires, she needs to learn to live with work that seems objectively bad. She needs to stop pulling her work undone and instead persist with the imperfect project and finish it. And then do it again for a different project.
Again and again while she learns and her skills grow.
We all know this is how you get good at things. Itās how humans learn. You have to be bad at something initially, to be able to gradually get good at it.
But somehow many people donāt think this applies to writing.
So many people believe that āpulling their work undone again and again,ā (endless editing) is the best way to make a good story. But not only are you mostly learning to hate yourself and your own work, the fibers that make up the story are getting worn and frayed and tired, and eventually will have to be discarded, never having reached the final state of becoming a usable item (a finished story or novel.)
Does that sound familiar?
So now that you've realized what you're doing, how do you move forward? Because, it's all very well to say 'let go of your shame and ego and write freely!' It's another thing to actually do it.
Here's a few suggestions. (And, I'll probably be digging into this more in future posts.)
Focus on Humility. I'm not talking about reducing an inflated ego. But remember what we discussed at the beginning? About the writer ego that won't allow you to produce something 'bad'? Accepting that your writing is never going to be perfect is incredibly important. What you're writing might even be kinda average. Knowing that it's not groundbreaking or award winning, and then going ahead and finishing it anyway does take humility. Putting something out into the world that's less than perfect takes humility. But it's also incredibly freeing. So try lowering your expectations for yourself and remembering that you're a flawed human who cannot do everything perfectly.
Stop Borrowing Trouble from the Future. A lot of the fears that stall writers are fears about the future. What if my friends think it's cliche and dumb? What if no editor wants to publish it? What if the haters on the internet tear it apart? These are all legitimate fears, and could potentially happen, but they are not happening now, and (besides the editor thing,) are fairly unlikely. Do your best to leave future problems in the future, and tell your story right now. You can worry about all that stuff after you've finished your manuscript.
It's All Practice. So, you write it. It's not as good as you wanted. And? What then? Then you've learned something. You've experimented. You've seen the possibilities and decided that this one in particular doesn't work for you. All of that has value. And you're still miles ahead of where you are now, with nothing written or completed, and the story all piled up in your head and heart. Working on looking at your novel as simply one step in your writing path, instead of the final destination can really take the pressure off. The less significant it feels, the easier it will be to write it.
When I was writing my first novel I used to tell myself: some day I'll look back and think that, out of my many novels, this is the worst one I've ever written.
Because no matter how imperfect and flawed your novel is, there will never be a second novel, or a third, and so on, unless you finish the first one.
So check your ego and just keep writing.
Thank you ā¤ļø
