Thank you discoveringmiraculouswriters
When I included an @discoveringmiraculouswriters on my writing blog recap a couple weeks back, I somehow did not expect them to actually go through my tumblr and reblog some of my stuff. This past Tuesday, when I mentioned that, I got a comment asking me to send them the rest of my long list of ML fics. I... I don’t promote myself easily. I always feel tacky and cocky like “Oh, my stuff is so great. Everyone should read it” spoken in the most haughty voice you can imagine. I dunno, when I’m asked for good stuff to read, I find it easier to say “this fic - by another person - is amazing and needs more love” but I cannot find the courage to be like “my stuff’s pretty good. Wanna try it?” And I LOVE my work. I’m one of the few writers I know who actively goes back and re-reads my stuff because I ENJOY it. I also get fairly resounding reviews (because my readers are amazing and I love you all) where the common theme of the comments are something to the effect of “you write them so in character; I felt like I was reading an episode script.” So why can’t I suggest my stuff to others??? Well, one of the admins of discoveringmiraculouswriters - @veroocasanova - was very encouraging and kind while asking me to forward my stuff over, and it helped me get over my mental block (for that one DM at least...) Since then, I believe they have reblogged (or at least queued) just about everything I have ML related. And I’ve been getting notes! I mean, in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a LOT of likes/reblogs for Tumblr standards, but I think I’ve had like 5 each for a couple of my stories; within one day. I don’t have a large followship, so that’s kinda major for me! I even gained 9 new followers, potentially because of my stuff being shared on discoveringmiraculouswriters. So, thank you to all of the admins who run that blog: @clawsout83 @volpinarena @sadrienaline @buginettez and @veroocasanova You are all so super awesome, and you really are doing so much for us little-known and barely-viewed writers. Thank you for taking the time, and putting in the effort. You are beautiful people.
