Saera glided along the path of the gardens. She paid no mind to the flowers that seemed to blur about her. Her hands seemed to reach out in front of her, everything felt like a dream. She did not know how she ended up in such a secluded part of the garden, her and her love’s favorite part of the garden. Saera indulged men and pretty girls in kisses on their necks and cheeks, but her lips were reserved for her dearest love and only true soulmate: YN. Her little sister by two years, the only one of her family not to look down on her for her antics and openness to pleasure.
Saera could only ever truly love YN. Her sister who did not care for sex and pleasure. Her sister who sang poems and wrote odes to her. She saw the light of the day create a halo around her YN. An image of serenity and peace. Saera sighed in content and reached her hand toward the back of her sister.
“What are you doing here, Saera?” YN demanded, her tone catching Saera off guard. Saera paused and retracted her hand quickly.
“I came to see you my darling. I missed you.”
“You think I am stupid?” YN asked, her voice hard and her back still turned to Saera.
“What? YN… Please let us spend the day together and-”
YN cut her off harshly and turned her head to glare at Saera. Her violet eyes held fury. “And why would I want to be near you?”
Saera felt her mouth go dry and hands began to shake. YN never spoke to her like this. She held such contempt in her eyes and disgust in her voice as she spoke to Saera. Saera never felt so small, but in this moment she felt as tiny as a mouse. Saera swallowed her worry and tried to laugh off YN’s unusual reaction.
“My dearest, what has become of you? Did you find your pillow lumpy last night? Please let us forget all contempt and hold each other.” Saera tried to charm her. Reaching her hand out once again. But this time YN suddenly turned her body swiftly and slapped her hand away.
“Don’t you ever try to touch me! Your hands are filthy and I would not have you defile me by your touch!” YN spit at her.
“YN…” Saera whispered.
“You are a whore.” YN spat out. Saera felt her heart hit her stomach. “Father was right about you.”
“YN please no… Don’t say this.”
“Father is going to send you away and I’ll be glad to be rid of you.” Saera felt this clouds cover the sun and YN appeared dark and hateful. “You killed Daella, and now you are trying to ruin me as well.”
“YN I love you.” Saera tried to appease.
“You don’t know what love is. You are incapable of being loved. Who would ever love you?”
With that Saera started to cry as YN sneered and laughed at her misery. Saera tried to beg but her words fell silent on the harsh wind that grew. Saera couldn’t recognise her love who appeared to be entirely different .

Saera shot up from her feather bed. Looking around her dark room. The only light from the dimming fireplace. She looked to her side and there was YN sleeping peacefully. The two would often share a bed and sleep near each other. Saera touched her cheek, finding it wet from her tears. Out of frustrations and hurt from her dream Saera balled her fist and struck her sister in the arm. Waking the girl from her slumber.
“What? What’s wrong?” YN asked hurriedly and rubbed her arm sleepily.
“You called me a whore!” Saera accused and glared at the tired girl.
“No I didn’t! When did I call you a whore?!” YN demanded and sat up to look at her.
“In my dream you did!” Saera pouted and crossed her arms, looking away from her.
“Your dream?... Saera that was a dream! I’d never call you that! You know that!” YN tried to defend. When Saera still turned her head away and refused to look at YN, the younger girl sighed and reached her hand to her sister’s face. Wiping her tears as she smiled sadly at Saera.
“My beloved. I do suffer love, for I love you against my will. I couldn’t help but fall in love with you and suffer love for you daily. You are my stars and sky. The scattering of light in my darkness.” YN hummed and rested her chin against Saera’s shoulder.
Saera uncrossed her arms and reached her hand back to hold YN’s. Her sister spoke love like poetry. Saera finally turned to YN and wiped her cheeks one last time. Smiling sadly at her beloved.
“In my darkest fears, you turn away from me.” Saera said, looking into YN’s eyes.
“They are just dreams. The important things in life are when we are awake. For that’s when we make things happen.” YN smiled.
Saera smiled back and kissed her sweetly. Her lips and kisses were reserved only for YN. Even after a nightmare, Saera could find comfort in YN’s arms. For they were just dreams. And dreams couldn’t harm her.
YN loved all her sisters truly. But she tended to dote on her little sister Viserra

Viserra Targaryen never got along with most of her sisters. Daella was an easy target for teasing. Alyssa was too brash and rough for her. Saera was competition for the most beautiful princess so they could not get along as people pitted them against each other. But YN was the one sister Viserra could get along with. YN was a beauty but not as beautiful as her and she was a gentle soul so Viserra could play with and spend time with her. Whenever the 13 year old wasn’t with Saera or her other siblings YN would be with Viserra.
Viserra’s room was alight with talk and laughter, as YN sat on the bed with her younger sister. Braiding the long silver hair of the 11 year old. Her smile was comforting as YN had been in a perpetual state of grief over the death of her older sister Daella. Dressed in black, YN ran her fingers through her sister’s hair, reminded of Daella so well when she looked at her.
“Recite a poem or a ballad for me, YN.” Viserra demanded.
“So demanding you are. Must I fall to your every whim?” YN chuckled and leant forward to kiss her little sister’s cheek.
“Yes. I am your favorite after all.”
“For you, Vissy, I will indulge your request.” YN sat back and thought of something on the fly. “Stars… Hide your fires, let not light see my black and deep desires.”
Viserra turned her head and laughed. “That’s barely a poem. I want a whole poem.”
“You will take what I give you. Don’t be greedy.” YN scooted back into the headrest.
“I can’t help it.” Viserra whined and threw herself back onto the bed. “I never get to spend time with you. And now since Daella died you’ve been such a recluse. I miss your poems.”
YN sighed and placed Viserra’s head in her lap. She knew her family had missed her poems and songs dearly. Her father had been doing his best in her eyes to be of comfort to her. Her brothers had taken her on their dragon’s to put a smile on her face. Alyssa had taken her with her on her dragon to other places and had spent her hours with YN. None of which had made the smile reach YN’s eyes. Saera had been successful in making her smile sincerely, but Saera was a possessive girl and had never shared YN’s smile with anyone.
“I know. But it’s hard for me to feel much joy after what happened.” YN sighed, then smiled at her little sister. “Yet spending time with you makes me all the more happier.”
YN then tickled her sister and laughed at her screeches. She felt herself smile wide at her sister’s joyous laughter. YN loved each of her sisters dearly, yet she adored doting on her younger sisters. Alyssa would dote on her, and Saera had many others to dote on her. Her younger sisters looked up to YN and YN liked that feeling. YN would wonder if that’s what her mother felt when they looked at her.
“It’s getting late. Should we go to mama and say goodnight?” YN asked.
“Mmm… alright. But only after another poem.” Viserra smiled.
YN rolled her eyes and thought of another. “O, a kiss Long as exile sweet as my revenge! Now, by the jealous queen of heaven, that kiss I carried from thee, dear, and my true lip hath virgined it ever since.”
Viserra closed her eyes and smiled at the poem, then sat up suddenly and jumped to her feet. She reached her hand to YN and waited for her. YN slid off the bed and grabbed her hand. The two didn’t speak as YN led Viserra to their mother’s room. YN knew her mother would be happy to see her two daughters saying goodnight. YN had been there for her mother when Daella died, so she knew her mother needed to see her children together.
When they arrived, YN heard arguing from her mother’s room. Her father’s voice loud and defensive, her mother’s voice sharp and accusatory.
“You knew how she feared marriage. Feared Everything! Yet you forced her into this!”
“You coddled her! Of course she feared everything! You wouldn’t let the world touch her!”
“My baby is dead because of you! And now you want to separate my two closest daughters for your own gains! I won’t let you take away another daughter and leave YN without her dear sister!”
“Saera is old enough to be married by now! YN has other siblings. You are blind if you think I do not know my own daughters!”
YN quickly stepped away from the door and placed her hands on Viserra’s shoulders. “Let’s say we just spend the night in my room. Hmm?”
Viserra nodded and looked back at the door as YN led her away. YN was worried about her father’s words. Was he going to send away her dear love Saera so soon? YN knew she would never be permitted to marry her sister but she detested the idea of seeing her sister married to a man who would never love and care for her as she did.
Once they got to YN’s room, they both stopped at the sight of Saeram lying on YN’s bed. Saera smiled at her dearest YN and sharpened her eyes at her other sister. But she saved face for the sake of YN.
“I wondered when you were going to show up. Now I see your time has been occupied away from me.” Saera grinned and sat up.
“Yes. My sister and I were going to spend the night together.” Viserra sassed.
“Our sister was meant to spend the night with me.” Saera sassed back.
They both stuck their tongues out at each other. YN sighed and brought Viserra to her bed. “I can spend the night with both of you. It’s not like I have the attention of a baby who can only focus on one thing.”
YN and Viserra sat on her bed, which was big enough to accommodate all of them. Saera sneakily entangled her hand into YN’s and pulled her closer to her. Kissing her sister on the cheek. The three spent the night as sisters. No jealousy or fighting. Not in the presence of YN who hated to see her sister’s fight. Even though there were things YN could not share with Viserra, she loved her sister. Though Viserra would never know the deep love between Saera and YN, she felt her own doting and love from the gentle girl. YN was after all Viserra’s dear older sister.
The Red Keep looked ever more lively when there was a feast and ball taking place indoors. Such a lively ball was taking placing in honor of Jaehaerys’ sweet daughter YN. She had flowers and the king had decided she was ready to be presented at court at the age of 13. Thus there was a massive feast with many nobles all bringing eligible bachelors for a singular purpose. To gain a betrothal to the beloved middle daughter of the king.
YN was a pretty little thing, like her sisters. And dressed in royal garments she caught many an eye. Her beautiful red dress looked much better than the black mourning dress she had been wrapped in for the past months. Her family had all shown up in beautiful robes, save for her mother who still wore black in mourning for her daughter Daella.
The crowd danced and conversed in a lively manner all around the princess, who mostly kept to herself. Crowds were not something she enjoyed, preferring to usually be with her sisters. But Viserra was too young to be allowed at the feast, Alyssa was busy with Baelon, and Saera was spending the night with her friends Perianne Moore and Alys Turnberry. So for the night YN had to endure the gazes of nobles.
“Princess!” A young nobleman called and walked up to the girl. “You look quite beautiful this night.”
“Thank you Lord…?”
“Coren Thorne, princess. And I’m not a lord yet, so it’s just Ser. It is my dear pleasure to speak to you tonight.” He was nice, a little too smiley, but YN found no fault in him.
“Are you enjoying the feast tonight?” YN asked, maintaining her sweet smile.
“I am, but you seem to not enjoy this as much as the other ladies do. Do you not enjoy balls, Princess?” He asked. He seemed very nice. Not pushy as the other lords and their sons had been.
“I must admit, I prefer a quiet night with my family rather than such a large thing. I find the quiet a lovely inspiration for me to write poems. Do you enjoy poetry?” YN found it easy to talk to him.
“I must admit I’ve not the talent for understanding any poetry that isn’t children’s rhymes.” The two chuckled and decided to walk around the room together. They talked and laughed, he was kind and YN found herself not as shy around him.
“So, princess, have you already decided on a favorite proposal? Or are you intending to hide away from any prospective future husband forever?” Coren asked.
“I’m hoping to avoid any rude prospective bachelors. Many of these men are quite pushy and rude.” YN sighed and leant against a pillar. “Though if you asked my brother Baelon, I would remain a spinster for the rest of my days.”
“As any older brother would have it.” Coren laughed.
“I find you nice to talk to Ser. Perhaps we could be friends?” YN asked.
“I’d like to be friendly. But you must understand why my father insisted on my coming here?” Coren asked, making YN sigh and look away.
“I know. This is my ball.” YN bit her thumb and looked at the ground. “If I was forced to choose a husband, I’d like to be on friendly terms with the man. And you have been the friendliest.”
“I would be honored. But let’s just remain friends for now-”
“And what makes you think you’re worthy to be in the presence of my dear sister.” Saera’s voice interrupted. The two turned and saw an angry looking Saera in front of them. “YN come. I wish to spend some time with you.”
“I was talking to-”
“Now.” Saera glared at the man who backed away from her furious gaze. She grabbed YN’s wrist and dragged her out of the room.
YN tried to pull her arm back, but Saera was stronger. She kept a tight grip, eventually though they stopped in a hallway and Saera let go of her. Her eyes still angry as she began to pace.
“What is wrong with you?” YN asked.
“With me?! You are out there flirting with a man who’s low birth is no good for you. And doing so when you belong to me.” Saera threw her hands up in anger.
“Belong to… Saera I am not a pet!” YN snapped.
“You’re my love. My only one! I won’t lose you to some petty lord.” Saera placed her hands on YN’s cheeks. “Do you truly think you’d be happy with him? Away from me? You don’t ever want to be touched in that way, you told me. Now you’re getting betrothed?”
“I can’t marry you. I can never have you. I love you so, but this world won’t have us together.” YN placed her hands ontop of Saera’s. “Think of the world we live in. We will be forced to marry one day. I just wanted to be friendly with someone tonight. I haven’t even been betrothed.”
The two stared deep into each other’s eyes before they connected their lips together sweetly. Saera wrapped her arms around YN and pulled her head back to bury it in her neck. YN felt tears prick in her eyes as she felt Saera shake slightly. She was crying, YN could tell.
“I don’t want to lose you.” Saera whispered. “You’re the only person who’s ever truly seen me.”
“I don’t want to lose you either.” YN rubbed her hand on Saera’s back. The two pulled away and held hands tightly. “I was just making a friend. You won’t lose me tonight. Now let’s go back.”
Saera wiped her face and nodded slightly linking their arms together. Soon they were back in the grand room, YN led her sister to finally introduce her to Coren. Though Saera did not seem to get friendly with him. Eventually Saera pulled her sister to the dancing floor and they linked together in a dance. Maybe one day they’d have to part, but tonight they still had each other.
Saera was not excited at first to have a new sibling. Then when she finally saw her Saera only wanted to hold her. To be the only one who would hold her.

On a warm Summer Night in 69 ac, princess Saera Targaryen watched her mother give birth alone. There were no maesters, no septas, no attendants even. Just the queen and the princess. Queen Alysanne was certain her labors would not start for at least another week, but in the dead of night she felt the water break from her womb, and the pains quicken the child out. She’d sent everyone away for the night, assured that there was nothing to worry about, now she was having the fastest labors in her life. The child was born in under an hour, only giving one cry. Alysanne only saw the babe between her legs for a moment before passing out from exhaustion.
Saera watched her mother from the side of the room the whole time. Tears dripping from her eyes at the sight of her mother convulsing in pain and passing out in shock. The princess was not happy her mother was having a baby, she already hated that Daella took so much of her attention anyway but now she had to share attention with a baby too? Her mother insisted on Saera being there when she gave birth, hoping a bond would form between them as it did not between Daella and Saera, and certainly not between Maegelle and Saera.
So as Saera watched her mother birth her little sister, she could only suck her thumb in worry and confusion. Once the baby was out, her mother pushed out the after birth and reached for the baby.
“Saera.. Tie the..” Alysanne managed to whisper before exhaustion took her. The little girl toddled forward, wanting to see the child between her mothers legs.
The tiny little infant had only shed a few tears, it was covered in blood and stared at Saera. The princess stared right back into familiar violet eyes. They couldn’t keep their eyes off the other as Saera climbed onto the bed. The toddler who had so admittedly hated getting a new sibling now was enamored with her. Even if she couldn’t cognitively understand the emotions of having a new sibling, even if she had no way of understanding the importance of them just bonding together at these first few hours staring at each other. Saera tried to hold the baby in her little arms, but could only manage to have her upper body on Saera’s legs. For four hours it was only the two of them just staring at each other, and in those hours Saera decided she’d only want YN.
When Alysanne awoke at dawn, she frantically panicked for her infant that had nobody to watch it, but her fears turned to shock at the sight of Saera holding her baby sister. Her ribbon tied around the baby’s cord. Alysanne reached forth to her baby, only to face Saera’s resistance.
“Mine!” The girl bit.
It seemed Alysanne got her wish, and Saera had bonded with her new sibling. The babe, YN, seemed to bond as well. Shedding quiet tears when the maesters had to take her away to be cared for and examined. They were each other’s first true bond.
Two years after the birth of the obvious willful child, Saera, Jaehaerys and Alysanne welcomed YN into the world. She was a quiet baby, and though Saera would usually hate when the attention was off her she adored her little sister. Saera was the first word YN said, they were spotted sleeping together in the same bed (non sexual), YN and Saera were rarely seen apart. Unless of course Saera would be flirting or kissing the neck of a boy, then YN would be covering for her.
The scapegoat and the beloved, thicker than thieves.

Jaehaerys
The Conciliator was in his mid thirties when YN was born, and the sight of another daughter brought mixed feelings to him. Joy at the sight of a healthy beautiful child, he loved his daughters truly; Anxiety at the possibility of another problem child as Saera was just starting to prove herself to be even at 2 years old.
But when he held her for the first time, and looked into her big innocent eyes, Jaehaerys fell in love. He couldn’t explain it, but he felt this need to protect her.
YN had proven herself to be a sweet, soft spoken child. She loved poetry, fantasies, and songs. Her voice enchanting the masses, being praised for her talent by the whole of the six kingdoms. Oftentimes she would read to her father at night or sing to him, wanting her close as he saw her as the better version of Saera
“YN is not wrought with filth like a whore” (this man is a misogynist)
Alysanne
The good Queen loved all her children. When YN was born she had Saera close so that the two would bond, since her willful little girl seemed not to care for Daella. YN did not cry when she was born, frightening the queen, but she was alive and healthy. As a baby she was a curious sweet little thing. During her childhood, YN would usually be seen with either Alysanne, Jaehaerys, or Saera.
Alysanne is the one who intrigued YN to the art of singing, since every night YN would demand her mother sing to her. Eventually YN would be the one who would sing to Alysanne.
As YN grew, Alysanne tried to plead with her to try to stir Saera in the right path. Alysanne loved all her children, but would constantly feel overwhelmed with Saera. YN promised her mother she would be Saera’s companion. Alysanne always had a softer spot for YN than Saera, praising how sweet and modest her girl was.
“YN is my sweet dragon. She listens and understands.”
Aegon
YN never knew Aegon. Occasionally when YN was a child she would console her mother when Alysanne would fall into instances of grief over her poor baby.
Daenerys
YN always asked her brothers and sisters about Daenerys, so that one day she could write a song for her departed sister.
Aemon
Her oldest brother was a teenager when she was born and already betrothed. He was devoted to his wife, but they both made time for YN. Taking turns watching over her practicing for when they’d have their own children. Both growing rather affectionate to her.
When he had his own child, YN had asked many times if she could play with her and he indulged. YN sang to Rhaenys, wrote poems about her, and enchanted her older brother with how quickly she earned his daughter's love.
He will deem no man worthy of his sister’s voice
Baelon
12 year old Baelon did not feel interested at the prospect of a new baby. Frankly the Spring Prince was not interested in a baby, since babies couldn’t hunt or fight or anything cool like that.
When YN started to walk around he became more invested as he was more mature and decided that he would watch over his little sister.
He, like Aemon let YN, watch over his child Viserys and felt more of a paternal nature over her. YN had a talent for investing Viserys in stories about Westeros and his family.
No man is worthy to marry YN, if Baelon had his way she’d be a spinster.
Alyssa
Like Baelon, this adventurous child wasn’t very interested in babies, but she knew that YN as a girl wouldn’t usually have the best lot in life. So whenever she could pry her away from her other family members (Saera) Alyssa would take YN to the Dragon pit to ride, or climb up and down the cliff of Kings landing, would teach her how to fight.
Though YN was more of an artist, she and Alyssa bonded over their love for dragon riding and sitting by the ocean.
When Alyssa went to marry Baelon, YN was at first devastated at the thought she would lose her older sister to her brother. Saera had convinced YN that marriage meant prison for a woman. That was not the case and the two remained good companions. YN was devastated when Alyssa died, writing a long poem that to this day brings westeros to tears
“I, who had always been Alyssa’s little sister, do not know what to make of myself now. My protector, my friend, my sister is gone and I do not know what I am to do without her. My sister has flown away without me.” Excerpt from YN’s poem
Maegelle
Maegelle was the most excited to see YN when she was born. Though the 7 year old was promised to the faith and would be sent away when she’d become 10, she still adored being around her. This caused many fights between her and Saera.
Maegelle was the one to teach YN how to write and was her first audience to YN’s poems. When she was sent to the faith, she and YN would send the other letters and poetry to stay in touch. Eventually Maegelle would be urging YN to either steer Saera to the right path, or to avoid her altogether so that YN would not taint herself with sin.
When Saera had been sent to the faith as punishment, Maegelle tried to console YN but YN could not be soothed. Maegelle had, like so many of their family labeled Saera a slut, she believed YN was pure as she had never even considered sex or lust.
She had good intentions, but the path to hell is paved with those
Vaegon
Ever the serious, blunt child. He did not immediately bond with baby YN. Even at 5 years he had a pale serious face, cold and thinking.
As YN grew, she always made an attempt to include her disliked brother in activities with their other siblings. He was appreciative, and it’s believed that he would only smile at YN. She would try to coach him about not seeming to be so sour or blunt when he spoke but nothing ever came of it.
When the boy was 15, and sent to the citadel, he and his little sister promised to keep in touch through letters. She was the first to tell him of family news, and he would always update her on his studies.
Vaegon may not really show it, but he cares.
Daella
Daella and YN got along very well, both being sweet and liked by most. Though YN was considered shy, next to Daella she was practically an extrovert. YN was close as she could be to Daella, but as they always were companions they were never as close as Saera and YN were.
YN was considered shy, but she always faced her fears and tried to help her older sister do the same. Eventually at a young age, when YN began singing to Alysanne, Daella would also have to listen to YN. For she could not sleep peacefully without it. Whenever Saera would pull a cruel prank on Daella, she would be slightly scolded by YN. so yes the two loved each other. As sisters.
When Daella was forced to marry, YN comforted her and promised her that the fear of the thing was at most the worst. Daella wrote to YN and Alysanne when she was in labor and afraid. YN made it there to try and calm her, but could only try to comfort her as she died. YN felt so much guilt when her sister died, believing that she should’ve protected her little sister or been a closer companion
“One so frail, so fair, so kind, could not live long in a world so blind. One made victims to her fears, will not be present to our tears. Goodbye my sister, may you be safe and loved in the life that follows this.” YN’s poem for Daella.
Saera
When YN was in her mothers womb, Saera was upset at the fact she had to share attention with a baby. She was two when YN was born. YN came into the world in the dark of night. Saera was in fact the first to hold YN, Alysanne had given birth without any attendants, and had passed out afterward. Her newborn on the bed, still connected to the placenta. Saera had watched the whole thing, crying for her mother to stop. When she saw the baby on the bed, the toddler decided to pick her up and both just stared at each other. The whole night Saera sat with the baby in her lap looking at her. When the morning came and Alysanne awoke in a panic, she saw her stubborn Saera cradling the babe as best as the toddler could. Saera tried to punch away the maesters who came to wash and care for her. According to Grand Maester Elysar, by the age of two Saera knew exactly what she wanted, and Saera only wanted YN.
The two grew up incredibly close. Saera would be caught climbing into YN’s bed to hold her. When YN was a child the two would sleep in the same bed so frequently many servants thought it a waste to make YN’s bed. YN and Saera were each other’s companions and partners. YN, though she wanted to be a good child, would cover or act as a watch for her sister when Saera would pull her pranks. Jaehaerys had tried to separate the once as a punishment for Saera once, and the girl merely climbed up the tower into her sister’s room. YN would read romantic poetry, and sing to her sister. Saera, at age 12, would run her fingertips over her sister’s face. YN would tell Saera how she felt about sex. That whenever she thought about it, nothing happened. Like she was presented with a lovely feast but she couldn’t make herself hungry, she believed she’d never find love. Saera vowed to love her.
When Saera flowered, YN was the first to know. They shared their first kiss when Saera was 14 and YN 12. At her presentation of the court Saera joked about having many husbands, later that night as YN and her sat criss cross under the sheets Saera said she could have many husbands but YN would be her only wife. Though Saera enjoyed pleasures, she would never kiss a lover on the lips. That was only reserved for YN. The two never told the family of how much they loved the other. Once as they laid on the sands near the tide, Saera lamented how she felt attraction sexually for both men and women, but only felt true love for YN. YN mused on her inability to feel anything sexual, but her love for Saera could not be defined by mortal standards.
When Saera was taken to oldtown in 84ac, YN and her had to be practically ripped away from the other. Jaehaerys held his younger daughter close and urged her to calm, that it was for the best, that Saera was a bad influence and YN had to let her go. For months YN wallowed in Misery. This was amplified by the loss of her dear Alyssa.
One night in 85ac, YN was awoken to the familiar hands of her love. Saera held her finger to her lips and they both sat in bed. Her hair was shorter as if someone had shaved her head, but she was practically vibrating. Saera explained how she ran away, and she was going to Essos to be free. Then she asked her to run away with her. To be her secret wife. YN said…..
Viserra
YN had attended her mother when she was giving birth to Viserra. She held her mothers hand, Alysanne is quoted saying that she would have died had it not been for her daughter YN. The girl was only two and Alyssane believed her to be the most maternal. Indeed YN had loved Viserra and tried to spend time with her, but her other siblings took her attention away.
But YN made an effort to sing to her little sister when she was a baby, she would watch the babe for her mother when YN was older, trying to convince her close sister to bond with Viserra.
When YN had lost her dear sister, Viserra tried her hand at consoling her. For the first few months, she and Gael were the only ones to make her smile.
Gaemon
YN did not understand the concept of death when her little brother Gaemon died. Jaehaerys tried to help her, all the while holding back his tears.
Valerion
When Valerion had died, YN wept alongside her mother. Her poor brother never even got to feel the sun on his face. He was here in an instant and gone in the next.
Gael
Like Viserra, YN had attended her mother when she gave birth a final time. The event had nearly drained her mother of all her energy but soon the 11 year old had presented the newborn to her mother.
Along with Alysanne. YN had practically raised Gael. She adored the baby and what little time she could spend with her, YN would sing so as to have her recognize her voice. Gael adored her big sister and if it were not for Saera, she’d take up all of YN’s time.
In conclusion, I don’t think that Jaehaerys and Alysanne were mentally ready to raise all of their children. Saera truly did become the family scapegoat so I decided to give my (headcanoned) bisexual princess a sweet little romance.I can’t believe ASOIAF has led me to where I’m shipping incest, but here we are.

YN and Daella walked throughout the gardens of the keep, arms linked together and smiling at the flowers that began to bloom. Daella enjoyed spending time with her younger sister. She had been having such a rough time as of late, since their father had declared a month beforehand that he would have Daella wed. The prospect terrified the small girl, who’s height had not exceeded her younger sister YN’s, her fear of leaving her mother and family kept her up for days on end. Walking with YN seemed to calm her shaking hands.
“Daella. I think this flower quite suits your complexion.” YN complimented, picking a delicate looking flower and tucking it behind her sister’s ear. “See. I told there would be no bees here to sting you. I would not allow it.”
“Thank you sweet YN.” Daella whispered, touching the petals.
Their moment of rest was interrupted by the sounds of running footsteps. Saera had escaped her septa, and ran around looking for her precious sister. She was not happy to see YN linked with Daella, and a viscous smirk spread across her smooth cheeks. Saera loved to mess with Daella, the 13 year old found it great fun to see her sister run away in terror.
“Oh? Could it be that Daella is actually outside? Has she decided to face the oncoming storm of bees?” Saera teased and sauntered forward, grinning as Daella began to shake.
“Storm of bees?”
“Oh yes. I saw a massive swarm just waiting for you Daella. Stingers at the ready for their favorite victim.” Saera poked her sides with her sharp nails. “In fact, they asked me to bring them to you. I hear them now!”
Daella gasped and ran away, screaming for their mother. This gave Saera pleasure, throwing her head back in a cackle laugh that was cut off when she saw the disapproving face of her favorite sister. YN did not like it when Saera scared Daella.
“YN. It was just a bit of fun.” Saera tried to excuse as her sister huffed and turned away. “Sweet YN, I am sorry to have hurt you so.”
“You’re sorry that I am cross with you.”
“Of course I am. You are my most precious person in my life.” Saera continued.
Before she could finish, Saera and YN turned their heads to the sound of their mother coming out from the keep. An angry look on her face. Both girls stood frozen, before Saera grabbed the 11 year olds hand, spiriting her and YN away. YN tried to protest, but Saera ran further away with her. Eventually they found their way out of the keep and in the stables. Saera wrapped herself in a gray cloak, and threw a shawl at YN.
“Come one! Follow me!” Saera demanded. Earnest to get away with YN for at least an hour. YN rolled her violet eyes and obliged her sister.
“Where are we going?”
“I think I want to see the street of silk.” That made YN shift uncomfortably. She had not told Saera yet of her feelings toward sex.
“Are you sure? You know father will be mad when he finds out you took us there.”
“Then you and I will see the ports again.” Saera conceded, noting how YN’s shoulders relaxed, smiling as YN wrapped her shawl around her small figure. “We’ll dangle near the ships and beg to be taken to an exciting new place.”
“Perhaps we’ll see a dornish ship again. They have the most sweet drinks, and their merchants are the prettiest.” YN mused, her earlier anger had cooled.
Once ready, the two girls skipped toward the piers and ports. YN marveled at the materials they brought from their ships, Saera smiled and charmed the men and women who resided on the ships. Each smiling back at the charming girl. To their joy, the girls found a trader ship from the Summer Isles. YN ran ahead of Saera to see the material they brought. The man who came from the ship was pleasant to the girls. Noting their silver hair and purple eyes, he deduced correctly that they were of the royal family. Saera charmed the merchant, who found himself unable to stir away from her. Her smile radiant, her fingers delicate as they twirled her smooth hair. YN seemed more interested in the feathers and pearls from his ship. Asking the occasional question, but not truly paying attention.
“YN, you would cover for me if I were to take a quick trip around the harbor in our friend’s ship?” Saera asked her sister.
“If you can promise to come back for me. Then yes.” YN would do anything for her sister. Saera smiled and took the man’s hand. But before she could leave, the alarmed voice from a city watch man surprised them.
“Princesses! Your father commands you both back to the keep immediately.” The gold cloak postured. YN looked down and nodded her head, intending to go forward but was stopped by her sister.
“Tell the king that we are busy with other matters.” Saera sniffed, holding YN’s arm.
“Please, Saera, let us not get this man in trouble. We should get back now.” YN grabbed her sister’s hand gently. Soft fingers entwining with the other.
“Fine.”
On the walk back Saera held YN close. They both dreaded the scolding they would get from the king. Saera most likely would get the brunt of the anger, she was always blamed for things. YN hated to see her sister getting yelled at and called nasty things, but everytime she found her voice to defend her sister, their father’s booming voice of disapproval brought her bravery down in waves. Reducing the girl to tears anytime she defended Saera. Once they were brought to the throne room, Saer had wrapped her arms around YN.
“Don’t defend me YN. If he shouts at me, don’t say a word. I won’t let him make you cry either.” Saera whispered into YN’s hair, kissing the top of her head.
“But he’ll blame you for everything, and it’s my fault too.” YN whispered.
“Don’t say anything.”
Once Jaehaerys sat before his two daughters, he frowned at the sight of them. Breathing in deep so he would not lose his composure. Saera gave him a fierce look back, YN stared at the ground.
“I am very disappointed. Firstly, you injure your septa-”
“I did not injure that cow.” Saera interrupted.
“Secondly! You frighten your sister Daella into a crying fit.”
“Daella is frightened of everything.” Saera sassed.
“Lastly, you disappear for hours with YN, roping her into whatever misdeeds you see fit to fulfill your amusement!”
“It’s not her fault-” YN tried to intercede.
“Do NOT interrupt me child!” Jaehaerys boomed. Regretting his actions when he saw her begin to shake and cry. “YN..”
“Look at you. Big king on your lofty throne, reducing a little girl to tears.” Saera mocked and held YN close. “Perhaps if you didn’t lock us away like birds we wouldn’t feel the need to run off!”
“Saera you are confined to your rooms until I see that you are regretful about your actions. YN you are not to talk to your sister until that has happened.” Jaehaerys commanded. A guard came and had to rip Saera away from her little sister who sobbed.
But Jaehaerys was unforgiving at the moment, he walked forth bringing YN into his arms to console her. His unsubtle glare at his older daughter was replaced by concern for his younger daughter. He shushed her, but she continued to cry. Perhaps he should’ve talked to them separately, Jaehaerys mused to himself.
Eventually YN left for her mother’s chambers, begging Alyssane to convince Jaehaerys to let Saera out earlier. Alysanne held her close and rocked her, hushing her sweet little dragon.
“Oh my baby. I will speak to him. But you must understand that we are concerned, Saera is showing much proclivity for undue behaviors. Your father just doesn’t want you to be influenced by those behaviors.” Alysanne tried to comfort.
“Saera is the most important person in my life. SHe was the first person to hold me. I cannot be away from her.” YN whispered against her mother’s chest, tears running down her cheeks. “Please momma, I hate being away from her.”
“I will talk to your father. Now try to find sleep.”
YN laid on her mother’s bed, staring at the canopy above. She knew that Saera was her person, but couldn’t truly understand why her emotional outburst when she heard she would be punished by not speaking or seeing Saera. Her feelings were so intense, it felt like half of her soul was stolen from her and locked away from her. She hated how her father spoke of her sister. Saera was her person, her other half, her… love. YN was certain she couldn’t love anyone so well as she loved Saera. Her brother married their sister, why couldn’t she have Saera as her love?
“Love me or hate me both are in my favor. If you love me I shall reside within your heart and dance with your soul. If you hate me I shall live on your mind and remain close to your memory. For love of you, I will stay wherever. The course of true love never did run smooth…”
YN recited her newest poem to her older sister Alyssa, her body relaxed against the body of Dreamfyre. The large dragon practically purred against the girl. Alyssa smiled at her sister as she patted Meleys’ maw, her child Daemon was strapped to her chest.
“Another lovely poem, YN. Is it for a certain someone?” Alyssa walked over to her younger sister. YN was her favorite sister, though she’d never say it outloud, she and YN had done many activities together after Alyssa determined to take her under her wing. YN was shy like Daella but faced her fears more often, Saera didn’t need her as much, and Maegelle was way too uptight to have fun with.
“It is. I can’t tell you yet, but one day I will. How is Viserys? I haven’t seen him much.” YN sat up from Dreamfyre and closed her notebook. She promised herself she was to write a lullaby for her mother after the birth of her baby sister, but the words kept changing to that of love for her sister, Saera.
“He is fine. A sweet child, don’t know where he got that from.” Alyssa laughed and held YN’s hand while they traversed toward the keep. “Why are you not spending your luncheon with Saera? While I enjoy your company, I’ve never seen you two spend a luncheon apart.”
“Saera is being punished for showing up drunk to the sept. She snuck into the cellar, stole some wine and father caught her stumbling around. So she’s confined to her room. Away from me.” YN sadly mused resting her head on Alyssa’s arm. “I plan to ask father to let her out.”
Once back at the keep, YN ran to the throne room to find her father speaking to some of his advisors. The gloom from earlier dissipated as she ran over to him.
“Father!” YN shouted, making the king turn toward her, a smile stretching across his face. He always held a spot for his dear sweet daughter in his heart. There was almost nothing he wouldn’t give her, yet she never asked for much. “Father. May Saera be released from her confinement? Please, I miss her dearly.”
“YN..” Jaehaerys sighed. That was the one thing he couldn’t indulge. He loved his children, but hated when Saera influenced her wicked ways to YN. He was lucky that she seemed to have no interest in it. “ I can not. She has disrespected the sept and my authority and must be punished.”
With a quivering lip, YN looked to the ground and nodded. Her father only ever used that tone when he wanted to make a point. And the point was that YN could not be with Saera.

Later in the nighttime, YN stared outside her window. The moon reminding her of Saera’s eyes. Just as she was going to find a book to read, YN heard the sound of someone climbing up the wall of her tower. The figure revealed themself to be Saera. Her long hair wild from the exertion, eyes lit from excitement, and a smile of pure joy to see YN.
“YN! My Darling, come here!” Saera waved her over as she sat on the windowsill. YN of course obliged her. “Let’s go to the riverside of the keep and look at the stars.”
“Let me grab my shawl.” YN could never turn down a moment with her sister.
They could barely contain their giggles as they scaled up and down the walls, arms linked together as they found their favorite spot on the riverside of the keep. Once there, YN laid on the sandy ground to stare at the sky, Saera lying upside down compared to her so that only their cheeks touched. Hair from the two splaying on the ground.
“So what did you want to tell me?” YN asked.
“I’ve flowered. I’m a woman now.” Saera’s excited voice sang. “I can have husbands and many lovers. Isn’t that wonderful?”
“I’m happy for you.” YN mentioned, silently she wished she could feel the way her beautiful sister felt about that type of intimacy.
“YN?”
“Yes, Saera?”
“I do not think you could feel the way I do. Am I correct?”
“I am glad you can enjoy physical pleasures. I want you to have no restraints from what you desire.” YN began to twirl her sister’s hair. “But when I imagine myself as you, I feel nothing. No matter if I imagine men, women, or even you. I can’t garner a care or connection to it. It’s like I've been presented with a feast, and I have no appetite.”
“You feel nothing for it?”Saera asked. “I know you’ve never had interest in it, but I’ve never heard that it was possible to have nothing connecting you to it.”
“Yet..” YN started again. “When I think of love, I imagine touching hands softly to cheeks. I imagine kissing the lips gently of the one I love just to kiss them. I wished to entwine my soul with a beloved, instead of entwining bodies.” YN sighed and draped an arm over her eyes. “I cannot place a true love on someone who does not value it…”
“When the noble men.. and women look at me now, they stare at my body with lust. As they should for I am a beauty to behold. But they only look with sexual lust, they do not bother to know my being.” Saera lamented to YN. “I have no shame in enjoying pleasures. Our lives are too short to know shame. But I wish to be romanticized, to be loved as I am. Not just as my body is. I will know many men and women who lust and love my sexual being, but you YN I will know you to love my whole soul.”
The two sat up and turned to each other. Noses brushing softly as bated breath waivered, violet eyes reflected violet eyes. Saera brought her soft hand to YN’s cheek as they continued to stare at each other.
“I do love nothing so well in the world as I love you. Is that not strange?” YN laughed slightly. With a final look, the two brought their lips together. A soft intimate tender moment. They kissed, just to kiss. Just hold close the other in one’s arms. YN and Saera were each other’s greatest love.
