Moon 237-Leaf-Bare

Safariaster’s (144) kit has been apprenticed to Xhosa (105).  Hopefully Xhosa’s quiet cunning will help even out Nettlepaw’s (6) more flamboyant tendencies.  There are now almost the same number of apprentices as warriors.  The leadership has taken an interest in Downgaze (18).  Both Primcrest (79) and Creekstar(91) want to spend more time with him (he is Creekstar’s son and Primcrest’s nephew, but I’m sure that has nothing to do with it).  Primcrest is proud of how far Frostpaw (12) has come and is excited to see what she achieves once she’s a warrior.  Vaxxstreak (123)  notices that Echomoor (18) has been helping around the camp a lot lately.  He really wants to do something to prove himself.  Meanwhile, Shinepaw (12) is still being rude to her fellow apprentices.  Amberwhisker (96) tries bringing her behavior up to her, but it ends in a fight that Hopedawn (26) has to break up.  Hopedawn talks with Shinepaw and tries to help her work through her feelings about losing Eaglepaw in a healthy way.  Skippaw (12) is distracted by wondering what her visions mean.  She even calls Hopedawn the wrong name.  Creekstar is curious about these visions and wants to get to know Skippaw better.  Meanwhile, in the Dark Forest, Yuccawillow is watching Creekstar with a sly smile.

Moon 233-Greenleaf

Xhosa (101) has been having a rough time lately.  First she was poisoned, then she had kits, and now she has heat stroke.  Palepaw’s (12) doing her best, but she worries that it won’t be enough.  Meanwhile, Creekstar (87) is giving Dawnfreckle (17)  more patrols so that he has more opportunities to prove himself.  It would be nice to have another proven dark-cursed cat.  And it keeps him out of camp and away from the kits and apprentices. Also, the fearsome fivesome (now foursome) miss their sister.  Skippaw (8), Bluepaw (8), and Frostpaw (8) feel like they’re missing the light to their darkness.  Brightpaw (8) misses her friend and sister who’s always looked out for her.  With their sister missing, the foursome are having some tensions. Skippaw feels like Brightpaw must be cheating in their training sessions-there’s no way she could win that many fights!  Brightpaw points out that maybe she’s just really powerful.  It’s true, after all.  Skippaw storms off and decides that she wants to spend time alone.  She passes the time by watching Dawnfreckle go on all his patrols and wonders what he was like as an apprentice.  If she can prove herself before she’s a warrior, will she be able to go on fewer patrols?  While Brightpaw is doing well with mastering her powers, Shinepaw (8) worries that she’s not doing enough.  She feels like she should be bringing back more prey from her hunting patrols. In a bit of good news, Hopedawn (22) had her kits.  Rindlekit (0) is a daring little girl who has an earth-blessing.  Palepaw’s glad it seems like he’ll have some help in the Healer’s den soon.  Next is the charming little boy, Rootkit (0), who got his mother’s water-blessing and is almost identical to her.  The last kit is the nervous little Lilackit (0), who’s powerless.  Safariaster (140) has taken to bossing Eaglepaw (8) around.  He’s not thrilled about that but thinks that Safariaster must be practicing for when she’s an elder.  Spotfoot (14) and Echomoor (14) get in a fight.  Echomoor worries that his brother suspects something.  He feels bad for killing Autumpaw, but he doesn’t want to leave the Clan!

Moon 252-Newleaf

ElementClan seems to be entering another season of loss.  This moon, Safariaster (159) was buried alive in a landslide and Shinebreak (27) died of greencough.  Nettlestripe (21) is sad that his mother is gone, but he’s been preparing for it for a while.  She was old, and a part of him could sense that it was coming.  Mated cats have really bad luck in this Clan.  Brightmouse (27) is miserable.  How can Shinebreak be dead?  Her throat is raw from crying as she dwells on how Shinebreak won’t see another morning.  Even her fire powers aren’t functioning properly and the camp feels colder than usual.  The terrible triad is having some issues.  Skipneedle (27) gets in a fight with Bluestripe (27) and Brightmouse is distracted and distant. Primcrest (94) understands the grief of losing a mate and settles near Brightmouse to eat her fresh-kill.  Primcrest also feels like Rootwing (19) should be working harder to become a better mediator and gets in a fight with him over it.  Lilacdrizzle (19) knows that getting in a fight with the deputy is hard and checks on Rootwing to make sure he’s okay. Tumbleswoop (41) still misses Echomoor, but can appreciate that Sweet Marmalade (37) is very handsome.  He admires the young warrior from afar. . .  Also, Rindlefur (19) seems to be this moon’s heartthrob.  Both Nettlestripe and Downgaze (33) are developing crushes on her.  Cavepaw (10) is impatient to become a warrior and is thinking about how cool it will be to be one.  Greenpaw (8) worries that he’s falling behind in training.

Moon 245-Greenleaf

With greenleaf comes a fresh bout of injuries.  Primcrest  (87) gets her leg stuck in a twoleg trap but is able to escape.  Her leg is heavily injured, though.  Additionally, Tumbleswoop  (34) was grabbed and dropped by an eagle.  He’s alive, but with a broken leg.  And on top of that, Xhosa (113) has gotten fleas.  How fun.  Rindlepaw (12) is proving to be a very attentive Healer.  She always makes sure to check in on her patients.  Safariaster (152) is tired of being on bed rest from her injuries and wants to sneak out of camp with Oriolepaw (11).  Echomoor (26) is worried about Tumbleswoop and doesn’t know if Rindlepaw is skilled enough to care for him.  He gets in an argument with the Healer apprentice and they end up resentful of each other.  Oriolepaw cares a lot about her mentor, who’s only five moons older than she is, and reminds Almondback (16) to grab something from the fresh-kill pile if he hasn’t already.  Dawnfreckle (29) is so excited that he’s proven himself.  He is very insistent on checking in on Hopgrowl (268) to make sure the cat he saved is doing alright.  Paleburst (24) cautions him against optimism as Hopgrowl is very old and quite injured, but nothing can bring down Dawnfreckle’s high.  Seeing that his cousin proved himself makes Echomoor even more determined to do so.  He makes sure to wake up early every day to volunteer for dawn patrol.  Things were going so well.  Until Xhosa decides to go for a hunting patrol during a thunderstorm.  A sudden flood comes their way and both she and Smokefoot (34) die.

Moon 243-Greenleaf

Nettlepaw (12) has been made a warrior!  His name is now Nettlestripe in honor of his zeal.  Safariaster (150) is proud of her son, even if she is a little cranky from fighting off an eagle that tried to snap her up.  Those claw-wounds hurt!   Dawnfreckle (27) is glad that Nettlestripe is a warrior now.  He’s quite fond of the young cat.  Blizzardpaw (6) is now an apprentice!  Her mentor is Streamhiss (14).  With Safariaster injured, Paleburst (22) is the most experienced Healer.  Which means Creekstar (97) gets to boss him around instead of Safariaster.  How fun.  Safariaster asks Rindlepaw (10) for help with her wounds, but Rindlepaw is busy and turns her away.  Ouch.  Literally.  Sweet Marmalade (28) is bored being stuck in camp and decides to fill his time by decorating Echomoor’s (24) nest with flowers.  Xhosa (111) doesn’t appreciate how close Shinebreak (18) is getting with the fearsome foursome and is telling jokes about her.  Shinebreak doesn’t care.  She could drown Xhosa in a heartbeat if she wanted to.  Xhosa’s son, Almondback (18), tells Skipneedle that Oriolepaw has been struggling and Skipneedle realizes that she is too hard on the young cat.  She knows what it feels like to be an outsider.

Moon 241-Newleaf

Streampaw (12) has joined his brother as a warrior.  He is given the name of Streamhiss in honor of his determination.  Xhosa (109) is not a fan of having so many unproven dark-cursed cats in the Clan.  She feels like Frostblotch (16) doesn’t take her role and actions seriously.  Tumbleswoop (30) doesn’t mind having dark-cursed cats in the Clan.  He’s even grown to kind of like them.  At least, one of them.  He asks Echomoor (22) to go fishing with him, using their water powers to herd the fish towards them.  It’s effective, but it would have been more effective if they didn’t keep getting distracted by each other.  Sweet Marmalade (26) has an infection growing in his broken back.  That doesn’t stop him from sparring with Frostblotch though!  She wishes she could help heal him, but Safariaster won’t let her try.  Safariaster (148) is impressed with how well Smokefoot (30) handles herself as a deaf warrior. She’s brave and Safariaster highly doubts any cat would notice she was deaf if they didn’t already know.  Safariaster is glad that Hopedawn’s (30) kits are nice to her kit.  Rootpaw (8) especially is good at making Nettlepaw (10) laugh.  But no cats are laughing when Vaxxstreak (127) brings back the news that Amberwhisker (100) has been killed by a large dog.

Moon 236-Leaf-Fall

Palepaw (15) has been made a full Healer (no thanks to Safariaster’s-143- ‘training’).  He’s given the warrior name of Paleburst in honor of his friendliness.  Streampaw (7) can’t help but feel constrained by Spotfoot’s training (17).  He feels like he can’t learn everything he needs to about his powers from a powerless cat. Hopedawn (25) is frustrated by coming down with greencough right after recovering from having her litter.  She just wants to go back to work.  Primcrest (78) bumps heads with her reassuringly.  Primcrest is also impressed with the skill-level of the Clan’s apprentices.  Shinepaw (11) is proving her mastery over water by keeping all the rain out of camp.  Wow.  Vaxxstreak (122) confides in Echomoor (17), comforting his son.  Maybe one day Echomoor will be able to tell his dad the truth about what happened to Auburnpaw.  Echomoor also enjoys spending time with the dark-cursed apprentices. He tells Frostpaw (11) about the latest gossip he heard over the border and offers Skippaw (11) advice about fitting in with the Clan.  Creekstar (90) wonders if she should start bringing some of the young dark-cursed cats to gatherings. Dark-cursed cats aren’t normally taken to gatherings until they’re proven, but it could be a show of strength to the other Clans.  Shinepaw has been working extra hard in preparing for her assessment.  She worries that she’ll fail it.  Brightpaw (11) comforts her.  While on a patrol, Skippaw tells Rubbleheart (32) that she’s been having nightmares of darkness.  Rubbleheart tells her that those sound like. . .visions.  Maybe of the dark forest.  Skippaw’s scared, but Rubbleheart comforts her and tells her to go talk to the Healers.

Moon 234-Leaf-Fall

Xhosa (102) is finally feeling better and she’s recovered from heat stroke!  And Safariaster (141) is back and ready to work.  Great.  Just in time for Palepaw (13) to finish his apprenticeship.  Apparently, Shinepaw (9) isn’t the only one who feels like she’s not doing enough.  Creekstar (88) also feels like Shinepaw never does anything helpful.  Despite Creekstar’s reservations about having so many dark-cursed cats in the Clan, she is fond of Bluepaw (9).  The young cat is just so sweet!  It seems like everyone loves Bluepaw, including Dawnfreckle (18) who makes sure to spend time with her between patrols.  Meanwhile, Rubbleheart (30) is feeling cranky.  He growls at Streamkit (5) to get out from under his paws and hates the gift that Smokefoot (23) gave him.  Safariaster finds the way he’s been acting increasingly annoying.  Rubbleheart blames his grumpiness on the sheer amount of young cats chasing him around.  Why are there so many kits in camp!  When he was young, he was the only kit.  Speaking of kits, Almondkit (5) decides that he’s bored and starts an argument for fun between Nettlekit (3) and Eaglepaw (9) over whether fire or wind powers are better.  It’s fascinating to watch them fight.  Lilackit (1) is taking notes from Almondkit on how to cause trouble.  It seems like the Clan should take notes and avoid twolegs, because Eaglepaw got taken by them while out on patrol.
