BAYAWAN, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- A heated, technical dispute has emerged between two radio personalities in the Negros Island Region (NIR), involving claims of poor management, workplace issues and alleged death threats in less reputable media networks for radio listeners, including a lone affiliate FM station.

'Randy Tambasacan Coronel', who is a station manager, radio commentator, and news anchor of 106.5mhz's K5 News FM: Bayawan under '5K Broadcasting Network Incorporated' (5KBNi) recently been accused of verbally confronting and acting aggressively toward another radio broadcaster, targeting claims about lacking of managerial skills to its former broadcasting home in 'Sagay City, Negros Occidental'.

In a captioned social media post last week on Friday (August 15th, 2025 -- Sagay local time), this almost in relation by flexing its credit cards from a national banking institution "Bank of the Philippine Islands" (BPI), days before the incentive tour to Singapore & Malaysia this week on Monday morning (August 18th).

'Troy Tisoy' (real name 'Norberto Lapoy Celestial Jr.'), a new radio disc jockey of DYKR-FM 96.7mhz's XFM: Bacolod and current station manager of DYRQ-FM 88.3mhz's Radyo Natin: Sagay. Both FM radio stations operate under 'Yes2Health Broadcasting Corporation' (Y2HBC) and MBC Media Group. Tisoy also hosts in solo-syndicated radio programme of 'Phonepal'.

Sources told exclusively to OneNETnews, most radio technicians have decided to cut ties with either 'XFM: Bacolod', 'Radyo Natin: Sagay' or both, allegedly due to concerns about gambling, corruption and technically poor management. Citing from a Hiligaynon-based social media group chat, which is obtained by OneNETnews in part: "Halos kami tanan nakit-an nas iyang batasan. Wala nas lugar kay dili nya pirmahan kung maay mong nag-leave [sang trabaho]". Tisoy stepped down in late-June 2025 from DYJU-FM 89.7mhz's K5 News FM: Sagay, later returning on free radio through 'Radyo Natin: Sagay' and 'XFM Bacolod' as the only solo host of the said radio programme.

But early this weekend, Y2HBC's chief executive officer (CEO) 'Dr. Remelito Ytang Uy', said the XFM Philippines incentive tour would proceed as planned. He denied commenting on allegations of fraud, irregularities or corruption in the radio industry.

Local reports also allege that Coronel recently made death threats toward Tisoy in its damage control. If proven, these could lead to charges such as hate speech, cyber libel and other offenses. As of now, police in 'Bayawan City, Negros Oriental' and 'Sagay City, Negros Occidental' have not issued an arrest warrant, nor have they pressed charges on him, and no court plea has been entered.

K5 News FM's CEO and president 'Dr. Ramel Ytang Uy' shockingly aware of the situation, and is expected to urgently suspend Coronel as early as next week. Y2HBC, 5KBNi and regional officials of Manila Broadcasting Company Media Group (MBCMG) have not yet addressed and issued public statements.

The show's main regional hub is 96.7 DYKR-FM's XFM in Bacolod, but listeners can also tune in via several relay and affiliate stations. SAGAY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL -- Match-making of love on free radio lost a beloved voice of Negrosanons. 'Norberto Lapoy Celestial Jr.', affectionately known on-air as "Troy Tisoy", made the difficult decision to step down from his dual role of a radio disc jockey (DJ) at K5 News FM: Sagay & Escalante and Station Manager, after a storied 19-year broadcasting journey Thursday night (June 19th, 2025 -- Bacolod local time). Naming the show's programme called 'Phonepal'. It became a popular staple: a real-time matchmaking radio programme that united lonely hearts in Western Visayas. Lovers were linked together in real time and built real relationships, some even married forever in a manner of discovery thru FM radio.

Norberto's passion for radio ignited in 2006 at just 18 y/o, when he began his career on Sagay's defunct DYRG‑FM 88.3mhz's HOT FM. He subsequently entered the 'Manila Broadcasting Company' (later called 'MBC Media Group') where he captivated the audience with his amiable and friendly voice. By the mid-2010s, he moved to Radio Mindanao Network (RMN)'s iFM: Iloilo on DYIC-FM 95.1mhz, where he made his name in Iloilo.

Norberto transferred to Radyo Bandera: Sweet FM (RBSFM) network in April 2017, assuming other new roles in Negros Occidental and Panay provinces. When the network rebranded to K5 News FM Philippines, an affiliate regional flagship station of 5K Broadcasting Network Inc. (5KBNi) in December 2023, he stood at the helm of K5 News FM's Sagay affiliate on DYJU-FM 89.7mhz, launched under 5KBNi following Bacolod's lead at DYQU-FM 103.9mhz (formerly 100.5 on local free radio frequency dial).

On Saturday night (June 21st), Norberto released his social media captioned post: "I am no longer connected with 'K5 News FM Philippines'. To my [Negrosanon] listeners, I'm truly grateful for the time we spent together on the airwaves, the laughter, and the connection we've built over the years. This isn't the end, just the beginning of a new chapter. You can still catch me soon on other platforms and new projects", said matchmaker radio host of 'Troy Tisoy'. His legacy will surely miss him for his final farewell marks an end to its FM chapter. To some, an era when Sagay and Escalante would listen not only to news or music but to human connection, created by a sweet gentle voice on primetime.

People in Sagay are mourning and reminiscing on the city streets. People recall late-night shows listening to the soft voice of Troy Tisoy, the laughter and intimacy of the callers as they shared their experiences in seeking love. The programme became part of their daily lives—especially those whose holiday evenings were brightened by hope on the airwaves.

Listeners were shedding tears on the air, exchanging silence and goodbye in his last show before 9pm. The romance of radio may fade, but the sounds of courage Norberto had to reach out to the people of Western Visayas will still ring in the hearts of all whom he reached.
