Me last year: wow! an easily moddable Monster World fangame! I’m gonna put Cream in it!

Me now: wow! an easily moddable Sonic fangame! I’m gonna put Asha in it!

anyway I’ve never seen a game use gifs instead of spritesheets for mods, weird and kinda annoying, but it seems this is a remake of a fangame from 2008 so weirdness is to be expected, i’m having a blast. Shame it doesn’t work for special stages.

okay might have found my favorite from this year’s SAGE if not ever, Sonic FGX Ultimate has Cream, advance style graphics, red rings and special stages to hunt which has been a blast so far, a level up system that incentives you to beat up enemies instead of just finishing the stage (which is again a blast to do with cheese in particular), it might be everything i’ve ever wanted in a Sonic game. Haven’t tested other characters yet and there is some wonky stuff especially with special stages (you lose all red rings from the act once entering, the frosty valley one can spit you down a pit, and the sky sanctuary eventually crashed, though it might be due to me reentering too fast), but it’s so good, made my week already.

Sonic TX is a lil rough around the edges in both graphics and level design so far but it does have some interesting gimmicks and fun secret spots for the emeralds inspired by the master system/game gear games, so i like it a bunch, shame that it is likely overlooked due to the super generic title screen and description though, i had to see someone else post about to know Cream was playable.
