a series of things that really gets on my flipping nerves: vkei edition

one is when people try to get on bandmens asses for very menial things, fans too, too much infighting 😭 or the opposite, they aren't caring ENOUGH 😭

exhibit a:

*band that is menhera kei with obvious shocking and saddening lyrics/mentally ill bandman* (but i can admit when sometimes there should be a case of probably censoring it bc of twts shit moderation)

"they're problematic bc they're talking about murder and self harm and stuff 🥺" i promise no one is forcing you to listen or watch the mvs, please. me personally i couldn't care less (that's not really a *great* thing) but kirakira and oshare kei is right there (i love love love my silly bands i need silliness, pls listen to babykingdom and super jassy), don't engage with things that make you uncomfortable please 😭

exhibit b: *band with very much 😬 visuals*

"it's not that deep" it is kinda serious guys, can't really ignore the rising sun flag in the background 😬 "it's anti-war" i get that, (quite obviously lyrics wise too) but does it really mean wearing either the outfits or it leaning dangerously close to it 😭 just quite off-putting imo (for example hakidame, love the music, the visuals make me kinda uncomfy)

exhibit c: asshole bandmen very much being an asshole online and then incoming defenders bc he's japanese but i know if this was any foreign bandman/non-japanese bandman, you'd be dogging on them like no tomorrow 😭

exhibit d: people not giving enough attention to female fronted vkei bands 🥀 (pls listen to utsugino, love u guino 🤍 she's so sweet i love her)

exhibit e: fighting every single day. guys we do not have to fight every single day it's ok to have peace, please stop giving yourself grey hairs over small things. like yes we get it, bangya discourse yada yada furitsuke yada yada is vkei music or fashion yada yada zib zob zab vkei zib zob zab 👽

exhibit f: saying EVERY SINGLE BAND is problematic. jigsaw exists ✨️ (free promo) and not every single band is problematic. my personal things that make me go 🤔 is either: too many people saying they don't treat foreigners well, downright horrid fans (not always the case, but no offense, sometimes it's telling), the bandman has too many controversies around him (sometimes it's tanuki's fault but i'm still a bit wary)

exhibit g: believing literally anything and everything. no, that bandman didn't graffiti some old lady's house and then beat up her cats be fr, critical thinking guys.

exhibit h: glazing the hell out of japanese gyas. we get it, you think all japanese gyas are god-sent and we're just annoying evil foreigners. you're a fucking foreigner too btw saying that!! stop being catty, we get it, you have some weird asian fetish 🙃. they're not all god's descendants and especially not after that crazy fan incident at senketsu with the gya who brought a knife and self harmed 🤫 but hey, i'm just an annoying foreigner right, what do i know 🤷🏾‍♀️

exhibit i: not letting go of the past. yes, i miss old vkei bands too/disbanded bands but they've disbanded. they ain't coming back as much as it hurts (yes, even those begging for a mejibray reunion, why would you even want that, don't you know what genki went through.... plus fuck mia) please put your energy into active bands who deserve support or they gonna end up in the same pile too of disbanded 😭

exhibit j (just keeps going): complaining about sexualising bandmen. this one REALLY ruffles my feathers like i don't care for the love of god. if you caught me like in 2023/early 2024 then maybe, but now? hell no lmao. with all due respect, how are you listening to dadaroma's "the kinky" and then having a breakdown over someone saying they think their honmei is hot, you'd cry if you saw yoshiatsu's previous bands (crazy☆shampoo) visual being the whole band in kink gear with all due respect "yoshiatsu's #1 fan" 😭😭. like i think the same about mine absolutely no shame (and i'm pretty sure he's a little bit of a freak too 😭😭😭) he's sexualising HIMSELF bro, they're kinda waiting for the reactions and laugh about it 😭 they feed into it, they be making out with their homies on stage 😔 just don't go overboard with it on your main account (be like me and be insane on your priv 👍🏾) don't say things on your main that you wouldn't say to their faces 👍🏾 this community is not humongous, they WILL remember, they're also human and lurk on people's pages 😭😭
