I’m thinking about Sajar again but, like, the better version of Sajar that exists in my head. He should have been a companion. The better version that exists in my head, I mean.

SWTOR Headcanon Project, The Forsaken
So, to finally get back in the swing of things. I came up with a fun headcanon project that I'm really into so far. Credit to @swtorpadawan 's Unforgiven headcanon and @raven-of-domain-kwaad 's love for Lord Loyat (and all the shit Ryscha Kine goes through) inspiring this, as well as @serenofroses and @voidendron for getting me into headcanon writing.
Now let's get into it! 'Forsaken' is a codename for a Jedi Strike Team (and eventual found family) underneath the SIS (a bit like the Sixth Line, but not as...religiously militant) that's comprised of 'misfits' within the Jedi Order. I'm still working on the formation, but so far, this is what I got for the main cast.
Artek Sefyr, the Hero of Tython and leader of the Forsaken. After breaking free from the Emperor's influence, Artek frequently tapped into the Dark Side to face against the Emperor during Chapter 3 of the class story. This led to him not being promoted to Master and getting taken off of the front lines, which he was not happy about. However, the SIS took notice of his physical prowess and leadership abilities, offering him an opportunity to put his skills to use in this Jedi Strike Team. Artek easily accepted the role.
Praven, my beloved. Anyway, Praven is here for a somewhat different reason. While part of him has felt somewhat out of place in the Jedi Order, that's not why he joined the Forsaken. Rather, it's his concern over Artek's decline into the Dark Side, worried he'll end up just like Angral. Because of his cool-headed disposition and honorable side, Praven acts as the second-in-command for the team.
Bengel Morr was more or less the first member recruited after Artek. While he had been redeemed following his defeat, he was still very guilt-ridden after the Flesh Raider Uprising he caused. He joined the team as a way to atone for his past mistakes.
Nalen Raloch, formerly seduced with power, now looking to restore his status as a protector of the people. Also tends to butt heads with Bengel up above.
Ako Domi, the former hero of Sullust, now hoping to restore his status as a heroic figure once again.
Loyat here is the newest of the Forsaken. After being defeated by Artek on Ilum, she abandoned the ways of the Sith, later joining Artek in killing her lover/abuser Darth Arho. She's actually a pretty nice gal, but really struggles with her emotions.
Sajar rounds out the team, more or less acting as their 'seer' for lack of a better word. Definitely the most reluctant to violence on the team in fear of relapsing into his old ways. And that's all I have so far. I might add in some more, and I do have a few ideas for non-force sensitive auxiliaries (including Watcher One and Agent Galen), but I can explain those later. For now, what do you folks think?
What happened to Watcher One and/or Lord Loyat in your Legacy?
Thank you for the ask anonymous!
Let’s start with Watcher One.
Arono considered taking him in as a prisoner of the Republic, but if it weren’t for him he would not have been able to save those colonists. And he kept his end of their deal and kept Doctor Godera alive.
So against his better judgement he gave Watcher One another chance and let him go.
Thankfully it didn’t backfire as the former Imperial began a new life in the Republic under his new name, Hugo Rezur.
(I made this name up. I just think Hugo fits him for some reason)
There was this one time he would get back into contact with Arono during the Revanite Crisis and help him out with a mission he was involved in (this takes place between Forged Alliances and Shadow of Revan). More on that another time.
Hugo has managed to survive to this day, keeping a low profile during Zakuuls invasion before hearing Arono was leading the Alliance and reached out once more, helping secure drop boxes from time to time.
And finally Loyat.
She was defeated by the Coruscant Aegis (Pub toons) on Ilum before she was taken into custody. After the whole Malgus incident was taken care of Gabeshi Zulis (Consular) asked that she be sent to Tython.
Loyat…has difficulties fitting in with the other Jedi. She was grateful to be shown another way after realising everything Arho had taught her was a lie, but she never felt as if she belonged.
Despite this she did have close relations with fellow Sith turned Jedi’s Praven and Sajar.
She managed to survive when the Sith attacked Tython…but she never returned to the Temple. The last anyone saw of her was when a Padawan spotted her leaving their little group that escaped and headed for a shuttle, never looking back.
What became of Loyat is unknown. There are some rumours that say she came back to the Empire, or that she became a Bounty Hunter, or that she was part of her own little resistance against the Empire. Whatever the case it’s likely she wanted to find her own destiny.
And what that destiny was…perhaps one day we shall find out.
Sajar headcanons
Remember this guy? the minor Ex Sith Lord character the Knigth meets on Quesh for 20 minutes?
I may be the only one that cares about him but I think I found which Sphere he councillor of.
The Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy!
Sajar used a single blade lightsaber and few force attacks when fighting.
As Dark Council he was "charged with the protection of the Empire's civilization at all costs” but all the military Sphere were filled at the time.
He called Master Braga to his trap that led to their duel by claiming he wanted to talk about peace. He had to have believable authority to do that.
So that makes me think his sphere was Expansion and Diplomacy or Laws and Justice. Darth Ravage reads as younger then Darth Mortis. He reads like 40s maybe early 50s to me. Plus his predecessor going traitor could explain how Ravage got the job and why he’s like that.
I also headcanon that Sajar was a lot better at keeping a level head while deep in the Dark Side when he was a practicing Sith Lord. He dueled a Jedi Master for 3 day straight while debating him. There’s no way he did that without the Force and to have a philosophy debates while actively using the Dark Side is damn impressive.
and that Sajar is the first name he was given at birth not his Darth name. I headcanon Sajar returned to using his birth name shortly after joining the Jedi order. (I know what it says on the Wiki. But I don’t like it)
i really liked these holomessages from bengel morr. they were a nice little touch - that bioware actually bothered to put holomessages in, rather than just send endless emails that would self-delete after 30 days.
i’ve never quite figured out of the Guilt that the jedi have going on in the JK story is a jedi thing or a bioware thing. or a DK thing (ie; if it’s a conscious intext problem, or an unconscious author problem). it crops up again in sajar’s mission on quesh, with the immediately conversation with braga more concerned about punitive measures than anything else. yeah, he fucked up, but you know who fucked up more? tol braga, for sending him there in the first place.
a Sajar for everyone’s troubles
Since I’m on Sith to Jedi Conversion at the moment. I have another nickpick.
I refuse to believes Sajar’s Darth name was Darth Sajar. First off that sounds stupid. Secondly it doesn’t make sense for a Jedi initiate to keep a name he earned as a Sith. It would make more sense for Sajar to return to his birth name when he joins the Jedi. It would be meanful. Return to his old name as he “returns to the Light” (still say it’s not a return if you were born in the Dark but the Jedi would) If your old name is a probelm because of gender or what not why not pick a new name instead?
I headcanon Sajar is Sajar’s first name and he went back to it after converting. He had another name as a Darth.
