Artek's Crew
Been a while, huh? Well, I've been working on my own headcanon for the crew members of my take on the Jedi Knight storyline, since there a few that don't fit what I have in mind, and one that I straight up do not like. So, I decided to give the rundown of my take on the Jedi Knight Crew.
T7-01
I don't have any major changes for him compared to canon. I mean, you can't really improve upon perfection. He was Artek's first companion and one that continues to follow him all the way to hell and back.
Kira Carsen
Just like with T7, Kira hasn't changed much either. My only major difference is that she and Artek have known each other for a bit longer and that she is never referred to as his Padawan. They initially flirted with another at first but never progressed beyond being friends with benefits, and any potential romance as a whole ended between Chapters 1 and 2. That being said, they're still really close to one another, kinda like bonded cats lol
Brayla Kirumo
Brayla is Artek's (actual) Padawan, roughly taking Doc's place on the team. He met her on Balmorra when she was still just a Resistance Scout when he ended up discovering her force potential. Warren Sedoru encouraged Artek to take her in as his Padawan and she's been by his side ever since. She's a scrappy, impulsive spitfire...which makes her the perfect match for a Jedi like Artek.
(credit to @dingoat for the art above. I love it!)
'Watcher One'
Watcher One roughly takes the place of Sergeant Rusk on the crew (Rusk and Doc are still characters, they just don't join Artek on his travels). Artek spared his life back on Taris, giving him the opportunity to disappear into a new life. However, with the outbreak of the war, he's now joined the young knight's side as the crew's medic and scientist. I do plan giving him a new alias like he mentions in his message, I just dunno what yet.
Praven
Praven roughly takes the place of Lord Scourge in my narrative (not sure what to do with Scourge exactly just yet, he's kinda in limbo rn). After Artek convinced him to defect to the Jedi Order, he ended up under the mentorship of Master Kiwiiks of all people (who he apologized profusely to, of course). He was eventually knighted and, in an ironic twist of fate, ended up returning the favor to Artek by freeing the latter from the Emperor's control. This led to the both of them becoming very good friends and perhaps something more...
But yeah, that's my revamped crew for my take on Artek's story. I hope you guys enjoy my ramblings and I'm more than happy to answer any and all questions!
Lol it’s kinda funny how the Jedi Knight can just collect Imperials / Imperial aligned npcs like pokemon
@swtorpadawan
Edit: and as @swtorpadawan pointed out, this doesn’t even take into account temporary enemies like Bengel Morr (not Imp aligned but an enemy), Galen, Warren Sedoru, Leeha Narezz and Tol Braga.
JK out there with all the people that ever tried to kill them lol “Sure they tried to kill me but that was like a whole planet ago. Times and people change, you know?”
Oh! Tol Braga!
Ah. Sadly this one doesn’t exactly have a happy ending.
Master Tol Braga, the Jedi who never knew failure…until he met the Emperor who corrupted his mind.
He says he broke free from Vitates control, that his eyes were simply opened. The Galaxy wasn’t worthy saving, it never was.
Whether those were truly his own thought or just Vitiate controlling him, I’m afraid no one will know for certain.
Once Arono defeated him he saw the Dark Sides hold over Master Braga was too strong and decided to put him out of his misery.
You see, Arono Maxir is a good man. He’s someone wanting to do the right and willing to give people a chance to redeem themselves, like with a Bengel Morr, Watcher One and Lord Praven.
But after escaping Vitates thrall, something that left him heavily scarred both mentally and physically, and given pretty much no time to rest before being sent back to the front lines he was…different.
He still tries to do the right thing but after why he’s been through he’s…going to make some lapses in judgment.
Killing Master Braga was unfortunately one of them.
(This may seem like a flimsy excuse but this was just to keep with the canon of Braga being dead mentioned in the Agent storyline, which as I’ve said before I have a reason for doing this)
So yeah, not much else to say.
(NPC asks) What happened to Watcher One and Attros Finn?
Ask Me About SWTOR NPCs Thanks for this ask, @the-raven-of-highever !
Watcher One survives to the "present day" of my Halcyon Legacy, and has even contacted Corellan a couple of times over the years via secure dropboxes, including after the formation of the Alliance. He even helped Corellan on a situation once. (More on that another time.)
Attros Finn remains active as well. The Jedi doctor was forced to go underground during the Eternal Empire's subjugation of the galaxy, joining a number of other Jedi who didn't retreat to Ossus in aiding the Republic from the shadows while hiding in the slums.
(I call them the "Shadow Enclave", and it includes several other canon NPCs from the game, including Unaw Aharo.)
They later make contact both with Corellan's Alliance and with the Ossus Colony. Attros doesn't join either, albeit he's on good relations with both.
Thanks for the ask!
What happened to Praven and Watcher One in your canon?
Ooooh thank you, Raven! I actually had these two planned out for a long time and never really got to mention them.
Leo saw good in Praven even when they met in poor circumstances and dueled it out, so wanted to give him a chance, so he got the chance to become a Jedi.
He and Leo remained respected allies and friends after they met again on Corellia, but it would be Leo's eventual girlfriend Avena who'd spend more time around him.
Avena was a temple guard on Tython, and the two went on to become close friends as he went through his new training. When Zakuul struck, he helped her round up Padawans and younglings to bring them to safety on Ossus.
It was through Praven that Leo and Avena were able to be introduced to each other on Ossus.
He went on to join the Alliance after it aided the Jedi on Ossus. He went on to become a Paladin, and even took on a student of his own.
Unfortunately, he met his end protecting his student when Odessen was attacked by Imperial forces trying to get rid of the thorn in its side that was the Alliance.
Watcher One was allowed to go free on Taris. Back then, Leo was super forgiving and tried to see the good in everyone. She hadn't been affected by the Emperor's influence yet, nor dealt with military for too long by that point, so.... she still forgave easily back then and gave chances.
One was allowed to go free, and no one heard from him for a long time - he was eventually forgotten.
...until he showed his face again, many years later, to aid with the Eternal Alliance situation. He seemed genuinely saddened that the Jedi who'd granted him his freedom had gone missing, and was suspected to be dead, but he aided the Alliance's Intelligence division.
When some of the Ossus colonists chose to join the Alliance, and he noticed the Battlemaster among them, they talked. For a long time. Leo was happy to him still alive and well, but she was tired and more cynical than she'd once been - had they met back then with her current viewpoint of the galaxy, he knew he'd have been killed on-the-spot.
He never really considered himself part of the Alliance, and left to do his own thing before Atten and Araa took over leadership. Occasionally Leo would get mail from him - he did well for himself, living quietly on a backwater planet and only occasionally sticking his nose where it didn't belong.
Talvin, yet another one of my of Republic Assholes, has been getting a lot of play time with this 2XP event.
I’d always planned to go darkside with him, but the speed at which he went from “yay I’m a Jedi!” to “why isn’t violence the answer?” to “hey wait a sec that Sith might have a point” is worrying - for the Jedi Order, anyway.
(In my personal canon he’ll eventually marry Kinsey and continue the Inrokini line all the way down to my big dumb Chiss bodyguard from a post-ROTJ RPG. In-game? Traitorous Theron romancer incoming!)
Recently rewatched the RED movies and I can't help but think that this is what Watcher One and Ryscha's relationship turns into during the time of the Alliance
Lol just Watcher One insisting that his young jedi protege is in a bit of a rut because she is effectively trapped in a desk job as the Alliance Commander and needs to get back out there
