goood morning gamers!! back 2 work today sighs
An existing character you’ve played in the past that you miss?
A trope you dislike?
- Jak!
I will start with the trope because that's one I'm sure all villain players have encountered at some point that makes a few gag: the overdone 'Love will fix all.' trope.
No. It doesn't work that way. Just because some goody two-shoes shacked up with a villain doesn't mean the villain is magically a good person. It doesn't undo their sins. It doesn't lessen their crimes. It doesn't magically change them as a person or redeem them. Characters truly changing as people takes both time, motivation, and effort on the character's part. It doesn't happen overnight. It's a long, slow arc with many twists and turns. Not all characters can even walk the path of redemption. Yet it's something I've run into time and time again, where people will see a villain and think that just by making them fall in love it will resolve anything and everything overnight, with no consideration as to long-term growth and progression, and no thought as to how that'd work beyond treating it like some sort of miracle cure.
As for characters I might miss, I had one a long time ago that had someone try to pull this trope on him. Zero effort was made to understand what made him tick and he was spoken to like he didn't know what he was doing is wrong, and then boldly invited over and asked to spend the night. He accepted.
And then he helped himself to the valuables once all were asleep, because he barely knew the people who had just dragged him into their place without knowing a thing about him beyond he was a crook.
Thank you for the ask @miqojak !
Ah yes thank you ducktales for disappointing me yet again by continuing to call josé "hosay" instead of, yknow, the brazilian pronounciation, since this is a brazilian character from brazil
1, 14, and 15 for the salty fandom asks?
heyyy gaeas hows it goin
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
mmmm i dont think i have any for this one. not any that arent like, rarepairs or smth.
14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?
uhhh. i mean i cant just say discourse topics. this is a nuanced fandom that i dont interact with much anymore and i cant say much. maybe i shouldntve reblogged this jgkfldchglfsk.
ok. i will say,,,, i am not the biggest fan of naming literally everything in a short video thats a character. like thats a great way to make filler characters for fics and stuff but just like, not a fan. like when ppl named the printer from a short vid. i dont HATE it i should clarify lmao because i do think coming up with Remy was clever but he’s a reoccurring character. the printer, by comparison, is not
15. Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?
uhhh shit let me think. should reiterate, this isnt a huge bash on the team or anything because doin this kinda stuff is hard, and honestly this might not even be that unpopular of an opinion, but im not a fan of the whole virgil being a part of the Others(tm) and then that never being addressed as of posting this. it was mentioned in DWIT (dealing with intrusive thoughts) but never really said again i dont think?
please correct me if im wrong, and i know virgil definitely represses the guilt and his previous status as one of the Others, but it may have been mentioned like once and just never processed. and ik SvS Redux had a whole Thing behind it but i would TOTALLY accept a comment from janus or smth about virgil “finally telling the truth” or some sly comment by him! cuz this sorta thing is something that should maybe be its own video.
but thats a very very small nitpick and i cant really think of anything else at the moment.
Salty Ask List! blacklist #salt time if you want
6, 10, 26 :3
6: nope lol. Fandoms usually do the opposite for me. 10: spop season 5. I mean, Glimmer and her trauma being sidelined in season 5. 26: Double Trouble. They were in one season, but my god the amount of love interests is insane.
is it bad that i don't want bakugou to improve on his relationship w/ his parents? cuz i feel like they were the first adults to fail understand him, at least in my opinion, and he's been developing much better by living w/ his classmates and outside the violent environment of his home. plus i doubt his parents will benefit anything for him (especially mitsuki) since he's been doing fine on his own and has aizawa n all might for guidance so (shrugs)
It’s not bad at all. In fact, that’s Super Valid!! I agree that he doesn’t need them, and it rly seems like they’ve done more harm than good for him. They have aabsolutely failed him lmao. He can totally stick with Dad Might and dadzawa.
Personally, I’m a bit torn between wanting Katsuki to cut his parents out of his life completely, and their relationship improving with time (ideally where Katsuki expresses that They’ve Fucked Up and Mitsuki & Masaru acknowledge that, apologise, and Be Better).
On one hand, fuck them, he owes them nothing. On the other, healing and shit can be helped by closure, I guess? Lmao but the thought of closure just feels too idealistic, when it comes to that family.
