Summary:
"How far are we?"
"We're a few miles outside of Mitchell, so I'd say about five hundred and twenty-three miles in the wrong direction." Answered a voice from the back seat.
Sam turned around, the shoulder forgotten.
He sat on the seat behind Dean, smile bright and mocking. Short hair over a rectangular face, big nose, and ears. He wore that same jacket he had last seen him in. But those weren't the details Sam focused on. It was those unmistakable yellow eyes that held him, frozen in place.
Yellow Eyes smiled. "Howdy, Sam."
OR
In which Sam kills Jake in Cold Oak, Dean never makes the demon deal, Heaven and Hell still try to set in motion the Apocalypse. Everything gets worse from there.
Admin Michelle here with another SPNFanFicPond Fic Highlight!
(Very belated Happy birthday!)
I have to admit, a fic like this is right up my alley. What if we change this one thing? What do the ripples do as they spread out from that one little change? I always find these fascinating, and this story really gets into all the changes! Some of them turn out to be bigger than you'd expect!
The most surprising ripple for me was Jody. We see Sergeant Jody Mills, whose son is dying, her marriage is on the rocks, and the only thing she can control is how she does her job. If only she weren't so good at it, then maybe she wouldn't get drawn in like she does in this alternate timeline. I honestly can't wait to see what happens to her next!
And this story is just excellently written. I was glued to my screen from start to finish! I will be anxiously awaiting the next parts!
In short, if you love going down a rabbit hole and seeing how different-but-the-same SPN could be, then this is definitely the fic for you!
I am watching this entirely because I was recommended a YouTube compilation on this show and I watched a few seconds of it before I decided to see for myself what's up. The little I saw gave me Haruhi and Tamaki energy
"As that senpai strode forward, I admired him in secret." Alright, I'll bite, where is this going?
"Dial it back several notches. Or I'll have this made into slash art." INSANE threat, Miyano, please continue
What's with all these little manga fans calling other people normies?
Recommending things to people with fifteen disclaimers is so relatable. Me about Bridgerton LMAO
"Despite all the hard stuff the protagonist went through, he resolved himself in a really cool way and moved through his burdens. I really liked that story." I've only had Sasaki for 4 minutes but I love him already for his review of this Gay Detective Manga
On one hand, I do appreciate how obvious Sasaki is about his feelings (the nickname, the physical affection, the dropping off cookies to class), but I'm right with you Miyano, in your position (being gay in high school) I would probably refuse to interrogate it any further on the off chance I am incorrect
"I saw you, you know. Chatting away happily with the boy on the basketball team from class 1-A, with the refreshing, lovely smile." So caught was I in the fact this show is called Sasaki and Miyano that I didn't consider for a second Miyano might like some other guy (Hirano)
I do love the interesting little dynamic they're setting up between Sasaki, Miyano and Hirano
"But he's a guy. He has such a cute face though. I feel kinda anxious." Oh Sasaki, you're in it now
The chronology of these scenes is a little confusing, it only becomes clear midway through the scene if it's the past or the present
"Everything is too much." JKGKJHG the implication that Sasaki is like, ready to die aftering getting beat up (moderately inconvenienced). The Sasuke of it all. Also, me too, baby
"You're so cute, Mya-chan. Wanna go out?" Oh, so he's been OBVIOUS obvious
"You try standing in front of a BL shelf with another guy! You'll just end up fodder for everyone's conversations!" "You sure about that?" "Yes, I am." "Then I'll stand at a different shelf." There's something so sweet about this. Something something understanding and boundary-respecting
"If there's someone I like, I want to know them." Giggling and kicking my feet over everything Sasaki says
"He's gonna be misinterpreted." Oh, I think he's gonna be correctly interpreted, Miyano
HAHAHAHA background conversation of "When [Miyano] blushes, could you mistake him for a girl?" "What? No way! He's a dude." "Yeah, I wouldn't either." Implying one of Miyano's classmates also thinks he's cute LOL he is a menace to heterosexuality
Not Sasaki challenging Miyano to Gay Chicken via Pocky and immediately forfeiting cause he was embarrassed hahahaha
Why is it MEN's Pocky?? Which I've just googled and is a real thing??? For what lmao!!
Why do they keep cutting away to the cat, is it a metaphor for something
I appreciate the homie straight up just being like "Are you dating?" without any teasing, just wondering about their situation
"Sasaki-senpai is a good person. Remember when I got beat-up before summer break?" OHHHHH I see how it loops back into the friend group
"Those two have gotten pretty close. I guess I should take that as a good thing." I thiiink Hirano likes Miyano but his vibes are a little hard to read so it could easily be Sasaki or neither. In any case, I do like his Minato hair
"Thirty-six. Who the hell went first?" Awwww poor Sasaki, experiencing his first bout of jealousy after hearing about all the chocolates Miyano got from his classmates.
"In that case, Mya-chan, ya wanna find out [whether I'm a clumsy kisser]?" Sasaki said: I will not pass up an opportunity to ask Miyano to kiss
Miyano said: I will simply not read into this, I pretend it was a joke
Miyano also said: So caught was I in how Sasaki embarrasses me in public every two seconds with the sincerity of his feelings that I forgot for a second he's also cool
Of the two girlfriends that have been mentioned so far, both Sasaki's friend and Miyano's friend have girlfriends who seem to be fujosh*s and let me tell you, I don't think this show is ever in danger of passing the Bechdel test
Awwwww, Miyano broke Sasaki by giving him a White Day present
"What do I do? My heart won't stop." "Good. You'd be dead if it did." "It's pounding." "You out of shape or something?" Hirano's patent refusal to romanticize life makes me happy
I also like Hirano's hair being black, what can I say, I love a switch-up. Also I just like black hair
"Do you let your roommate touch [your hair]?" "Yeah, he's the one who told me it's damaged." Miyano said: Oh my god they were roommates
"He might be treating you as BL material like my girlfriend, you know." [Turns to Miyano] "Are you?" "Huh? Come to think of it, I've never done that with you." "That's news to me. Give him the same treatment." Not Hirano complaining that Sasaki ISN'T being objectified for BL purposes LMAOOOOO
Also Sasaki extremely willing to abandon his friend Ogasawara in his hour of need for his crush jkjhgkjhg. Not the best move, but understandable
Every time there is a line of uncaptioned, silent dialogue, I always assume it's that they're saying "I love you" (shout-out that one JJK scene LOL):
"If senpai only saw me as a kohai, would he, in that quiet tone, here on the train, (when I wasn't even awake!) say that?" "I like you." Oh I love the immediate reveal, we appreciate a romance that doesn't beat around the bush
KJHKJGHKJH none of their classmates overhearing or caring about how they're discussing if Hirano would top or bottom. My god, this school
Also also also. I've been thinking this for a while, in part because I truly think too many people are TOO possessed of topping and bottoming as personality traits, does no one in these shows believe in versing LMAO?
Setting all that aside, it is very sweet how flustered they keep getting whenever they're close
"I like girls, not guys." I've been wondering about this as well. In Miyano's little brain, these things (liking gay manga and projecting BL onto his classmates) are two things that have nothing to do with his orientation. And while that can be true. YOU GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY*
*As a general term, I'm not saying he can't like women LOL
You know, I'm so glad I knew I was bi before I started watching so many gay shows because that could cause some confusion for sure
Miyano imagining himself literally on top of Sasaki: Which could mean nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I just miss it earlier or did they wait until ep 4 to give Tashiro (blond friend who asked if Sasaki and Miyano were dating) and Kuresawa (nice but stoic friend who got beat up and loves his girlfriend) names
"I read every manga she's got. But I found one about a... slime? And a delinquent. And now I have no idea what to do anymore. I can't understand what she wants." I love Ogasawara actually. The act of reading every BL manga to understand his girlfriend is a love language for sure
"You don't do that because he's your boyfriend?" "You're mistaken! We're not in a relationship." Everyone at this school thinks has Miyano and Sasaki clocked but Miyano LOL
"I thought you also liked guys." Ogasawara no. 1 wingman for Sasaki:
"Not that it matters anyway. And it ain't my business." Also very true. I love everything about this interaction, Ogasawara
"In middle school, I had a crush on a girl. So I know I don't." I see your confusion, Miyano. Google bisexuality and circle back. If that doesn't work, try comphet
"I like you, Miyano. What I said in the summer, I'm not taking that back." "Um, I, uh..." I can wait... You don't have to answer right away. I'd be happy if you gave it some thought." This is slowly becoming my favourite trope
I don't know what the hell kind of cheerleading uniform Hirano's outfit is supposed to be, but I dig it:
"What if a Committee Member is violating the dress code?" "Like who?" "A certain blond individual." "Oh, me." I think Hirano might actually be my favourite character. I love the contradiction of him being a delinquent on the Discipline Committee
This show has been so delightful so far, I beg of you not to make it weird with this school nap
It was borderline, but it seems like we narrowly escaped
"Wait 'confessed?' Should you be telling me?" said Hirano, before immediately tossing his phone at Sasaki with Miyano pre-dialed and proving why he was a good person to tell
Also. Also. WHAT YEAR IS IT LMAO. The flip phone kjhgkjhg
"I like you a lot. for more than your face. That's all. See ya. And take care." "Sasaki, go let Miyano punch you. Actually, can I just punch you?" Hirano ACTUAL NO. 1 Wingman for Miyano
"Is it serious?" "Yeah." "You know what? Nope. Forget all of this. This is creeping me out!" ["Just don't do anything careless.] "Same." ["I won't.] The serious discussion of feelings followed by the disgruntled dialogue and sincere exchange in the subtext.... WAH 😭😭😭 I love Hirano and Sasaki
"Some scenes can make you feel embarassed." This conversation about BL anime feels a little self-referential, but okay
Do we think the sucker worked for Sasaki because he probably has them while studying and had that whole sense memory thing going on? Or was it just the encouragement of his crush giving him a birthday present? Or was it, in fact, Hirano's study cards? Probably the last one
"Take Miyano. Even with his cute face, he's a guy." Tashiro has to tell Miyano he's cute like once a day, at least
"I just mean people are more than their looks." "So you were saying my girlfriend likes me for my looks and for who I am. Thanks, Tashiro." "That's some self-confidence you've got, Kuresawa." I also do appreciate Kuresawa's level of delusional self-confidence
You truly have to wonder what Miyano's friends think is going on if not an intricate flirting ritual. Do they just patently ignore Miyano's claims?
"Do you happen to like guys?" "I don't think so. Why?" We'll unpack this conversation and trope at another time Sasaki, but let's focus on the 'WHY?' WHY DO YOU THINK HE'S ASKING? YOU CONFESSED TO HIM, A GUY!
"Thinking about all of this, BL gets more and more confusing.... And when you said you liked my face... Though my face is feminine, I'm a guy so.... And I might be taller than you in the future!" Sasaki trying not to giggle as Miyano stream of consciousness processes his feelings aloud <3
"And when I'm 50, I may look totally different than I do now..." I love that Miyano, after one (1) confession, in high school, is like WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME WHEN I'M 50?
"Senpai, I want to consider it a little longer!" Awww, he got there!
"You might grow taller than me one day, and your face might change completely. But I think I'll still like you, Mya-chan. So take as long as you need to answer." They are SOOOOO SWEET
"Our cultural day festival will have a cross-dressing competition." I feel like we're moving past this too quickly. Admittedly, I've seen this trope several times before, but usually it's a play where they're cast in a cross-dressing role. It's not the sole purpose. Is cross-dressing a standard cultural activity for high school festivals? If not, why did you just say that like it's supposed to be?
"The Cultural Festival Committee revealed their tastes when they wrested permission to hold it from the Student Council." Ahh, so it was not standard, it is a preference of this school LOL
"I'm down. I bet my girlfriend would love [me cross-dressing]." Kuresawa unmatched security and affection. We love
Wjkhkjh the Chairman seems like a total menace to his Committee members, I do enjoy that
"I wanna see the person I like." [Miyano runs into the staff room yelling about the room key] [Sasaki laughing in the background] Sasaki said: New flirting dynamic unlocked
Gjkhkjhk Makimura not seeing Miyano for two full years and immedately objectifying him for art reasons. At least he gets some romantic closure about her
"It's not about gender. I don't want to be rough with someone I like." Ohhhh Sasaki
New Sasaki lore unlocked: He is the son of bakers
I really am curious about the girlfriend in the hospital storyline with Kuresawa. Is it leading anywhere
The way I thought for a second Miyano might be worried about Sasaki buying the manga because it would disrupt the borrowing dynamic they've created but he was actually so excited that Sasaki shared his interest and was outwardly engaging with it!!
"Hirano, aren't they a little too close?" "I-I don't know. Don't ask me," said Hirano, though he did know, in fact, and was actively involved
"Well, fudanshi, is it?" JKHKJGHG the way Ogasawara (Jiro) just calls Miyano fudanshi while seeking advice and he responds to it
[Jiro, seriously] "I don't move on a woman I have no intention of marrying." "I think that's the kind of thing she likes about you." [Jiro, upset] "That I'll let her wear the pants?" PLS he is so silly
"I cross-dressed and Tashiro mistook me for a girl. But our love story failed to take off." HAHAHAHA this is the funniest way to phrase what happened
Sasaki asking Miyano to put his bangs down bc it makes him nervous. Sweet boy
I actually do appreciate that they followed through on giving Miyano a less overtly feminine outfit to begin with
"Chairman, what do you think it means to like someone?" Oh, Miyano, you are SO in it
"You looked like a girl, but the difference wasn't as big as with Kuresawa." "Thanks. Complicated thanks." Adding 'Complicated Thanks' to my vocab immediately
"I wouldn't like it if a guy took pics of my girlfriend, so scratch that." Lmaooooo so that settles it, they are patently ignoring Miyano's claims this is platonic (also this is truly the most drastic their height difference has ever looked):
"You'll just let your classmates pressure you?" I can't tell where exactly Sasaki's upset is coming from, and perhaps neither can he
"I'm gonna say something inconsiderate. If I asked you not to compete, would you drop out?" Because he's hot, or because he's reluctant, or because of a third secret thing like Sasaki having to re-evaluate the circumstances of his attraction?
I appreciate how even when Miyano has said nothing about his situation, Kuresawa is still trying to help him via manga store visit
"I made the decision to compete myself. So I want to follow through with it." "Okay. Good luck. I'm happy you told me how you feel." Ohhhhh this
"If possible, would you like to see the festival together?" Hee hee, good for Miyano
"Arranging a date?" "We're not going out, but I guess it's a date." Not Hirano politely eavesdropping on this whole exchange
I fucking love the concept of a Hooligan Cafe, and Hirano as Chief Hooligan, 10 bajillion/10zo
I am going to ignore Chairman Hanzawa's self-fortune and focus instead on his helpful advice to Miyano about building confidence
"He had ten more minutes though." "It's just ten minutes." Hirano letting Sasaki off early for his lunch date <3 That's my hooligan, no. 1 wingman
"Can you support Miyano appearing in a cross-dressing competition like this?" "How much do you know?" "He hasn't told me anything. I got a distinct impression, though." HAHAHA I love this exchange. Sasaki said: Who told you we're almost dating? To which Kuresawa said: I have eyes
"Well, that makes sense. I never did hide it." LOL Sasaki, u right
The 'what about when I'm 50' belatedly hitting Sasaki HEE HEE
Colour me cliche, I do fucking love a fireworks trope
"Could you... wait just a little longer for my answer? It feels irresponsible to give it right now." Believe it or not, Miyano, this is also kind of an answer
"I wanted him to hug me then. I wanted to take care of him. Do I like him the same way he likes me?" Yeah Miyano, you do, catch up!
Holding hands with him during the fireworks while blushing and leaning into him is ALSO also kind of an answer, but I do appreciate your sense of romantic responsibility, Miyano
"Even though I don't know, I want to tell him I like him... Why is that?" Welcome to your first love, Miyano
[Text overlay] 'Delinquent, motherly, blond, Discipline Committee, handsome, Vice-chairman, strong fighter, trusted by teachers, etc.' "He packs together a lot of tropes." HAHAHAH that's also part of why I like Hirano, Miyano
I like that Sasaki makes Miyano forget his anxieties about other people perceiving their date
"If these feelings aren't the real deal, what is?" It took Miyano two full dates and ten full episodes, but he got there!
Oh thank GOD Hanzawa has a gay brother with whom he has a complicated relationship, when he started whispering "niisan" I got nervous about the direction it was taking
"I thought he was finally dating Sasaki-senpai." Tashiro said: I refuse to engage in allusions, when is the hard launch?
I love that Hanzawa's older brother came out and his little brother was immediately like ditto. I will not lie though, in my life I do appreciate my brother for repping the future grandkid issue
STOOOP MIYANO HAS BEEN CHANGING HIS BAG OVER FOR ALL THESE EPISODES BECAUSE OF SASAKI? AHHHH I love them!!!!
Also the way that Sasaki was just about to kiss Miyano in the hallway after school and Miyano's immediate reaction was 'Well, alright!' They have no sense of self-control LOL:
"You still don't have each other's number?" Hirano said, ENOUGH, HOMOSEXUALS
"And people will ask things they'd never ask an opposite-sex couple. I guess they can't help but focus on it, even if it's irrelevant to the discussion." THANK YOU MASATO HANZAWA
"Sasaki, you forgot stuff at school. Get your butt back here." [...] "What did he leave here?" "I lied. this way, he'll run into Miyano." Hirano for World's Least Enthusiastic Matchmaker HAHAHA
Sasaki weaving a tale about how he is a horror to society for trying to kiss his almost-boyfriend while Miyano is thinking about how much he loves Sasaki
"I like you, Sasaki-senpai!" GOOD FOR THEM!!!!!!!!
[Sasaki, immediately crying] "Sorry. No, I mean, you can think about it some more. No rush." BABY
"I feel like words aren't enough to get this across. But he won't know if I don't tell him." YEAHHHHHHH MIYANOOOO
I get so distracted by enjoying the show that liveblogging becomes an afterthought, but just now, Miyano had a very good and clear confession
I do, as always, love a park bench romance:
"Sasaki-senpai, I like you! Be my boyfriend." Miyano said: There will be no ambiguity in this return confession!!!
The little callback to 'Wanna go out' and the crouched kiss and the exchange of numbers!! <3 Worth the wait
"We're dating." "Oh... That's great... Dammit. Look I'm not great that at this." "I know." Hehe it is only right that No. 1 Wingman Hirano is looped in right away
"Um, well... We started going out." "What? Really. So I was right." "Yeah, yeah." HAHAHA lmao @ Kuresawa deciding Tashiro gets to know
Double LMAO @ Ogasawara being the only one unaware of what they are all pleased about
"You're not going out with Miyano, right?" Again the chronology of this OVA is a little confusing. I know the ep title is A Tiny Episode Before He Realized His Feelings, but they talked about this at the festival. So this is post-festival but pre-confession?
This keychain search has me wondering beyond the romantic, how much Miyano lets manga run his thought processes
[Jiro, ominously] "Did ya lose something?" [Miyano, startled] "You scared me." [Sasaki, even more ominously] "Ogasawara. Don't scare Mya-chan." This is what happens when you date a delinquent LOL
"Animals love him. I knew Ogasawara-senpai was a good person." HAHAHAHA the kittens getting interested in Ogasawara's bell in his bag and Miyano reading this as a Disney Princess-like affinity for wildlife. Romanticize your friends:
Are we finally about to meet Hirano's little background boyfriend? I can't wait
"I bet he remembered something he had to do. I'm sure he'll text us." Oh, I take Sasaki's sweatdrop as confirmation this is situationship-related
OHHHHHHHHH it's Kagi, the guy who Hirano offered to get a drink on festival day
"But I saw you and I couldn't help but grab you." "Are you a dog chasing a ball or something?" "Want me to be your pet?" GOOD LORD, I NO LONGER BLAME MIYANO FOR THINKING SOMETHING IS GOING ON BETWEEN HIRANO AND KAGI, IT IS ENITRELY MERITED
"I want to stay here with you a little longer." Kagi said: I gotta take up the mantle of Obviously Pining Guy since Sasaki's feelings are now requited
They waited until the very last episode to start putting Hirano in romantic situations. Also worth the wait:
"You see, the Student Council President sometimes secretly feeds the cats. Thanks to that, several cats have settled here at the school." I didn't expect for them to actually have an explanation for the cat cutaways, but there you go
I love this episode dedicated to getting to know the Discipline Committee more
Bonus: Sasaki and Miyano (Graduation Film)
I will not lie I did like skim-read the whole Hirano to Kagiura manga before this film so I am not as surprised by the roommate dynamic as I was one (1) episode ago
"Earrings... I can't get up if you don't put them in." Still, stroking your roommate's ear IS a bold choice first thing in the morning
I won't lie, I would ALSO fall in love with Hirano if he woke me up every morning and ate the veggies I didn't like and helped me in school and gave me cookies he'd personally made
"The walls have fundashi ears." Bold way to bring Miyano back into this story, but okay
"If I get married, I hope it's to someone frank like you, Kagi-kun." What a thing to say to your roommate, Hirano!
I won't lie, I am 100% sold on the roommate romance, I both love the trope and I can't believe they described their ideal partners as each other:
Gjgkjgljglj @ Miyano giving his boyfriend a Good Luck Gay Manga for his college entrance exams
HAHAHAHAH Tashiro looking for Miyano and Kuresawa to give him relationship guidance and them just both responding that they do with their boyfriend/girlfriend, "The Normal Stuff."
"Hirano keeps saying, 'Passing isn't the finish line.' He's kept up his studies the whole time. It's really cool." I love Sasaki and Hirano's dynamic as always
"If it's long, I can run my fingers through it, which is fun... But if it's short, I can see your face better, which makes me happy." Miyano is still shocked when Sasaki flirts even though they are literally dating
"Until I pass my exams, I won't touch him more than this." [Tiktok audio voice] It's like a reward
Sasaki having a smart phone while Miyano has a flip phone truly does make me confused about the era. Is it now, where we've circled back to some flip phones being popular? Or is it 2010, when some people had smart phones, and some had flip phones, and both were normal?
Take a shot every time someone in this anime gets sick from overstudying LMAO
"Do you want some... affection?" [Both pause and blush] "Yeah." Awwww Miyano asking but both them immediately getting embarrassed. Also are they doing a mask kiss? That's sweet!
Oh, they did do a masked kiss! We love a follow-through
"I've heard that some boys give girls chocolates [for Valentine's Day] these days. How nice! Make some for me sometime too, okay?" "A-Actually, the person I want to give them to is a guy." Are we coming out to mum right now, Miyano?
"Mom, I really like being around this senpai, and I want to keep being with him. I-I like-like him." "Lovely. It's wonderful to like someone. I know, 'cause I like your dad." AWWWW this is a really lovely response, good job Mama Miyano
"I'll get good enough to make your sweets by myself next year." [Sasaki, internally] "Next year?" The way Miyano is always thinking about his future with Sasaki, without even being aware of it
The way that Miyano is smiling and thinking about the people in his life not caring that he's dating a man <3 We love shows devoid of homophobia
Now that we're about halfway through the ep, it is funny that they dedicated the first ten minutes to Hirano and Kagiura and then the next twenty to Miyano and Sasaki because you'd think if they were going to involve both it would be more alternating scenes
"Are you dating him for real?" "That's none of your business, Ogasawara." HAHAHA Sasaki said: We're not THAT close, Jiro
"Which role are you? Nope! Never mind, I don't actually want to hear stuff like that about a friend." "And I don't want to tell you." Hanzawa foreshadowed Sasaki being asked this question, though I did not anticipate it coming from Ogasawara
They really are making some bold choices, both anatomically and in the kissing in the third year classroom
"I'm fine with either. Whatever Miyano wants." Realistic discussion of sexual interests? In anime? Shocking!!
"How could I do that at school?" That was also my question, Miyano!
"You've got it wrong. We're dating." You know, I like that they're establishing this, but the translations in this show are so indirect. What Sasaki says is "kōhai ja nai," which is specifically the strong refusal of the term kōhai, which I feel like they could subtitle as, "He's not my kōhai." But they translate it back without using that word, instead as, "You've got it wrong," I guess to avoid repetition? I don't know that much Japanese, but I've noticed a lot of translations like that with this show, how they drop a number of nouns in the subtitles to interpet more broadly. I talk about captioning in every show ever, but this is the first time there was a noticeable difference in subtitles from Japanese for me. Weird!
Also, I made the no homophobia call too early I guess LOL
"The thing is, I can't be too pushy with my sister. In middle school, I injured her." "Did you two fight?" "Not really... but I pushed her over and she got hurt. It left a scar. That's when I understood that I was bigger than other kids." Having a sibling much bigger than you really do be that way, eventually it becomes dangerous
"Senpai, your sister is important to you, huh?" "Eh... medium-important." HAHAH this is such a brother answer to give
"For me to respond with 'why?'... It's because you like each other. I'm very sorry." "It's all right. People change how they think about things over time." Sasaki's sister said: I went for a walk, I can accept gay couples now
"You're a cool guy, Miyano-kun. I think I might get why Shumei fell for you." Both Sasaki and Big Sister's Boyfriend coming to interrupt because of this compliment is very funny:
"Shumei-san." "Why is that the part you remember?" "Maybe I'll call you Yoshikazu." "You could." I will never tire of the first name to last name transition in media, it is my favourite
Hirano grabbing Sasaki by the back of the neck like he's a misbehaving cat when he looks at his boyfriend during the graduation rehearsal is so cute
"Would you be the jealous type, Miyano?" Everything Hanzawa says is foreshadowing
"Drop it! It's got nothing to do with you." Hirano said: DO NOT gossip about why Sasaki would sprint after his favourite second-year to explain the (fake) lipstick mark on his cheek, and the other Third Years said: That's fair, not my business!
"How can my heart be so small?" said Miyano, as if jealousy were not a normal human emotion to feel, especially at 17
"If you're going to gush to me about him, be careful what you say. My girlfriend will find out." "Have a long and happy relationship." HAHA the friend group designating them as Relationship Status Official
Hirano said: I know we haven't talked about my situationship with my roommate for forty minutes, but I promise, it's still going on
Hkjhkhkjh Sasaki offering Miyano his school blazer for "when he gets taller." I don't think he will, but the faith is nice!
Awwwwwww Miyano copying Sasaki's embarrassed gesture of laying his face down!! <3 <3 <3
The flashbacks to their different moments across the school are getting me. I am just a sentimental bitch at heart
HAHAHA THE DUCK AND COVER KISS WHILE KURESAWA LOOKS ON FROM BELOW LIKE: 👁👄👁
This was a lovely show, highly recommend, very sweet and likeable cast, relatively unembarrassing given the initial premise, friends to lovers, mutual pining, not a single person at their all-boys school giving them a hard time for their relationship, good friendships, beautiful animation, no real complaints on my part
Hey hey hey!! Here is my new Alpha!Sam fic. I really hope you guys enjoy this! Its somewhat of an AU, but Sam and Dean are still hunters.

Prologue
It started with the war. Hundreds to thousands of boys and men were sent to fight and die for a country that didn't provide the service back. Most of them were Alphas. Their Omegas were left at home for months, years, or sometimes until the boney hands of death also claimed them. Their natural cycles and heats were not being met with what they needed most—their Alphas. The Omegas called for their mates. Their desperate and wild howls filled the night air. The moon wept alongside her sisters.
Generations came and went, and as time passed, a dip in the presentation of Omegas occurred. Not only were they becoming increasingly rare, but they were also going extinct. The mother of Alphas, Betas, and Omegas became a commodity. Bought and sold to the highest bidder in hopes of breeding an Omega.
Once held in the highest regard, their presentation became seen as weak and dependent. Omegas were to be captured and stowed away in a house of their own kind. They would be kept pure, letting their heats dissolve them every month in agony. They do not allow them any contact with Alphas. A select few Betas can be in their presence. The only Alphas now who could claim an Omega have to pay the price.
Only a twist of fate can undo the ties that bind.
--------------------
As you strolled through the farmers market, you let your hands touch soaps, fruits, vegetables, and fabrics. The spring air blew strands of your hair off your shoulders, filling your nose with its new and crisp scent. You turned your face toward the high morning sun, feeling the heat soak through your t-shirt and leggings.
"Hey, Ness." You greeted your friend as you ducked under a tent.
"Hey, Y/N." She called back, looking at you over her shoulder.
"Got anything good for me today?" You asked, bending at the waist to check out her selection of fruits and vegetables.
"Well, seeing as you are late..." She said, turning to face you fully.
"Ugh, I know!" You said. "I couldn't make myself get out of bed this morning. I just felt this pull for more sleep." You explained, picking up an orange for inspection.
"Still, I saved you the best tomatoes," Vanessa said, her smile wide as she handed you the brown paper bag.
"You are literally the best. I love you." You said as you took the bag from her hands, peeking at the red and orange heirloom tomatoes.
"Love you more." She said back. You fell into an easy routine with your friend. She was a Beta. Her sweet and clean smell filled your nose. Vanilla and ripe summer strawberries. You were also a Beta. Your presentation had not been typical, but it wasn't entirely abnormal.
You were about to ask Ness if she wanted to come over tonight when it hit you. The scent filled your entire body. It smelt of soft sandalwood, the woodsy and fresh aroma reminding you of springtime. Green and young foliage kissed by the sun and air for the first time. A heavy musk lay underneath. Old books with spines that crack from time passing. Your fingers could almost feel the worn and read pages between them. The wind shifted, and you could now smell pine. The ever-true and mighty trees covered with heavy snow still stand tall in the changing environment. Your mouth watered at the scent of orange. You could practically taste the sweet and tart juice rolling across your tongue and sliding down your throat. It's supple nectar refreshing and filling you. You could feel the heat of a bonfire on a cool summer evening burn across your flesh, its incandescent smell warming you from the inside out. Soothing mint was the final scent you picked up. Clean and bright. Fresh. It cleared your senses until it was all you could scent...all you could feel was him.
"Do you smell that?" You asked out loud. Your eyes rolled back in your head, and your knees buckled involuntarily. You let out a gasp that turned into a moan. Your tongue felt thick with moisture. Your head lolled back on your shoulders.
"What is happening?" You asked through panting and panicked breaths. You felt like you were being watched, and your head snapped forward, looking...for what, you weren't sure. You flicked the hair out of your eyes, and that's when you saw him. He was tall. Standing above everyone else. He wore a blue jacket with a black flannel underneath. His brown hair blew softly in the breeze. He was incredibly handsome. Long limbs and broad shoulders. Defined cheekbones and a strong jaw, softened by baby-pink lips and expressive eyes. His mouth sat slightly open, his chest heaving with full breaths. His eyes locked onto yours, and the cramps rolled through you.
"Oh, my god." You practically shouted, your hands flying to your stomach.
"Y/N, what the hell is going on?" Vanessa asked, her voice worried and confused. You gasped as you fell to the ground, your hand knocking over fruits and vegetables as you tried to catch yourself.
"Holy shit," Vanessa said, covering her mouth. "You're an Omega."
You curled inward as a fresh wave of cramps moved through you. When you looked up, there he was. Crouching in front of you. His hazel eyes were determined yet concerned. He held his hand out to you, offering you help. You couldn't explain why, but you trusted him. Your fingers danced over his, his body pulling you back to standing. The moment your skin touched his, you knew. You had read about his. True mates. There was no record of a true mate in over a century. They had been eradicated from the treatment of Omegas. Or so you thought. Your breath caught in your throat, and you felt the slick leak between your legs. He caught the smell of it, and you saw his eyes turn wild. His hand practically yanked you toward him, his opposite arm holding you tightly against his chest.
"Omega." His voice was thick and weighted with arousal. Your knees buckled again, but he caught you this time. His hand came up to wipe the hair away from your forehead.
"You're my..." You mumbled through panting breaths and moans. Your cramps were getting worse, overtaking your entire body. He looked deeply at you then. His sunset eyes were staring into yours. Intertwined in green, blue, and gold, you saw your life waiting for you. It was then that you realized the others around you. Alphas from all over the surrounding area were closing in on you. He noticed them too. A protective and possessive growl came from deep within his chest. He turned and tucked you behind him, his arms holding you tightly. Using himself as a shield as he slowly backed up while assessing the situation.
A whistle broke through the crowd. Your head turned to see dozens of guards racing through the farmers market. They had nightsticks, guns, and gas that they were threatening the descending Alphas with.
"No." Your Alpha said, moving you to the front of his body and wrapping you into an unyielding embrace. Despite all the action, you couldn't help your body's response to being surrounded by his scent. You fisted his shirt in your hands, trying to get as close as possible.
The guards came for him. There were about 20. Your Alpha tried to hold onto you, but there were too many. He unwillingly let you go and began to fight them off. Sometimes taking two of three at a time. You watched in fear and amazement as his massive form made quick work of each guard. His arms and legs struck their target each time precisely. Another Alpha jumped in as well. He fought off the guards alongside your Alpha. Their movements were calculated and practiced. They were experienced. You stared at the two of them, still wrecked with cramps and sweat.
Suddenly, hands wrapped around your arms. You tried kicking. You tried yanking your arms away. You tried flailing your entire body. They were too strong. Alarm and panic coursed through your veins. You let out a scream, your desperation evident. Your Alpha turned then. His nostrils flared. There was so much anger and aggression in his focused eyes. You watched his large hands ball into fists at his side. His lip curled over his front teeth as he charged at the guards, his body only seeking yours. The other Alpha, who was fighting with him, ran as well. The guards all blocked you, standing between you and your Alpha. You watched as he screamed, punched, and kicked. You saw the agony and peril written across his handsome face as they threw you into the van. You made eye contact with him. You reached out your hand, desperately trying to get back to him.
"I will find you! Do you hear me? I will come for you. My Omega!" He screamed, his eyes holding yours with certainty. His voice was the last thing you heard before the needle pinched your skin and sleep took you.
----------------------
"Come on, man! I just wanna sleep!" Dean whined, his head turning to the other side of the pillow.
"I can go without you. I just wanted to let you know I'm taking the car." Sam said, already picking up the keys.
"What?" Dean shot up. "Why do you need the car?"
"Because it's a few miles away," Sam explained.
"Fine. They better have coffee." Dean mumbled as he dramatically threw the covers off him and stumbled into the bathroom.
"It's a farmers market, Dean. Of course, they will have coffee." Sam said, rolling his eyes and waiting for his brother.
"And bacon!" Dean shouted.
"I'll call ahead." Sam shot back sarcastically.
----------------------
"What the fuck, Sam? I don't see any bacon!" Dean asked, his face twisted in annoyance.
"Have a muffin," Sam said, pointing to the first thing he saw.
"You have a muffin!" Dean poked his finger into Sam's chest.
"I told you, you didn't have to come," Sam said.
"Right. Like I'm gonna let you leave Baby here with all these..." Dean paused, flailing his hands around dramatically. "Vegetarians!" He whisper yelled before he stalked away.
Sam shook his head and laughed lightly at his brother's usual antics before returning to the canvas bag display before him. He lifted his head to look at the booth next to him when it hit him. The purest and most intoxicating scent filled his lungs.
It smelt of jasmine, its sensual and feminine smell wrapping around him. He could see the fields of lavender in his mind. Their gorgeous purple color contrasts the lush green grass in which they grow. The floral scent was wild yet tamed, making his hands ball into fists at his side. His tongue felt heavy at the taste of honey, his mouth savoring its nutty and woodsy aroma. He smelt spices, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Their nostalgic and balmy perfumes reminded him of autumn. How the seasons change brought new life to the earth. Sam could virtually feel the rain dance across his body. Goosebumps covered his flesh at the humid and earthy smell bringing him almost to his knees. His pupils dilated at the fresh and invigorating fragrance of freshly cut lemon. Its sticky and citrus juices awakened his senses until all that was left for Sam to see or feel...was you.
He saw you then, hunched over and panting. Your eyes locked on his, and his world stopped spinning. All the air left his lungs, and the blood ran hotter in his veins. You grabbed your stomach, your face scrunching in confusion and pain. You fell to the ground, and Sam took off toward you. Shoving and pushing anyone and everyone out of his way until he was crouching before you. He stretched his hand out to help. He knew the instant your delicate touch caressed his scared and calloused skin. Sam caught the scent of your slick sliding down your legs and had to keep himself from ripping your clothes off. He ran his hands over your hair, feeling the heat from your body as he pulled you close.
"Omega," He claimed.
"Your my..." Your voice was breathy and dazed. Sam knew what you meant. True mates. Even in his delirium, he knew this was exceedingly rare. He tilted your head back to look directly into your eyes. Swimming among the specks of Y/E/C, he saw everything he could ever need.
-----------------
Your hand was reaching toward him. His love. His Omega. His unclaimed mate. He reached back. Your beautiful eyes were full of fear and agony. It killed him to watch you in pain and sorrow.
"I will find you! Do you hear me? I will come for you. My Omega!" He pledged to you and himself. The guards slammed the doors of the van and sped away. It took over 15 guards to hold Sam and Dean back from you. They finally broke away and raced toward the Impala. Dean jumped across the hood to climb into the front seat.
"What the fuck is going on, man?" Dean screamed once they took off driving. Sam didn't answer right away; he just sat in brooding silence. His hands balled tightly into fists on his lap. Dean screamed his name, and Sam finally snapped out of it.
"I don't know," Sam said truthfully. "I think...no...I know, she is my true mate."
"True mate?" Dean asked, looking over at Sam. "When was the last time that happened?"
"Over a century ago," Sam answered.
"Whoa." Was all Dean said, his hand running through his spiked hair.
Despite their best efforts, they lost the van carrying you. Sam shook with anger and frustration. His mind and body swinging between hectic depression and chaotic rage. Now that he had seen you. Scented you. Heard your angelic voice...he could never be without you.
They pulled into Singer Auto the next day. Sam closed the door and immediately started pacing. Bobby greeted them outside with beers in his hands.
"What's got you two all riled up?" Bobby asked around the lip of his beer can.
"I met my true mate. They took her from me, Bobby. They took my Omega." Sam said. His voice was primal sounding. Bobby lowered his beer can, his brow stitching together on his forehead. He looked at Sam as if he was crazy, glancing between both boys for more information.
"Your true mate?" Bobby asked. "Sam...there hasn't been a documented case of true mates in..." Bobby trailed off. His head shook in disbelief.
"Over a century. I know." Sam finished for him. He sounded impatient.
"It's true, Bobby. I saw it all. She presented in the middle of a farmers market." Dean piped in.
"What?" Bobby looked as if he had just been punched in the stomach.
"Yeah. Us and about 50 guards from the government had to fight off like 25 other Alphas who were all called there by her presentation." Dean explained.
"And you're sure it was you, son?" Bobby asked. Sam pricked at the question but remained in control.
"It didn't happen until we made eye contact." Sam verified.
"My god," Bobby said. His eyebrows raised to his hairline.
"Bobby. I need to know where they are kept, the Omegas. I need to find her. I need to rescue her. Every minute that I am without her is agony to me. It has only been a day, and I feel like I'm gonna combust. I feel like a part of me is missing. I need to be with her. I need...her. Just her." Sam said, his voice softening.
"I'm sorry, Sam. I don't know. I-I don't even know if there is just one house or several." Bobby said regretfully. Sam let out a breath that turned into a growl, his hands raking through his hair.
"Well, boys, it looks like we have some work to do," Bobby said more confidently.
-----------------------
You awoke in your new room. It was bland. All sense of individuality was gone. The walls were beige. The bedding was beige. Even the furniture was a withered beige. You let out a shaky breath, closing your eyes and feeling the tears come. In all the turmoil at the farmer's market, you didn't have time to fully understand what was happening. The fear settled over your shoulders like a cold, scratchy blanket offering no warmth.
Your body curled into itself tightly. Cramps still sat deep in your abdomen. A constant and aching reminder of your new reality. The tears fell hot and heavy down your cheeks, their salty taste getting caught in your mouth. You sniffled and pressed the palms of your hands into your eyes. Your breath was wet sounding as you cried in your lonely room. You got out of bed and went to the door, swallowing thickly from nerves. Eyes closed as your fingers felt the cold metal of the handle. You turned it. Locked.
"No. No. No. No. Please. No." You said in total defeat. Your voice pendulated from small and meek to loud and angry as you continued your protest. You ran your hands over the door, looking for any way out.
"You can move around the house once your heat is over." Someone spoke. They were right outside the door. Your breath caught in your throat, and you stepped backward in fear.
"Don't be scared." She spoke again. There was the sound of a key turning in a lock. The door opened, and a woman walked through. She was beautiful with wavy raven-colored hair that fell to her mid-back. She wore a long black dress that accentuated her cleavage. Her olive skin was highlighted with freckles and beauty marks. Large dark brown eyes found yours, and a calm smile sat on her lips.
"My name is Violet. I am the head Omega of this house."
----------------------
Four months Later
The Omega house was strange. Most women here were kind and compassionate. Most days passed with walks around the property. Reading in the small library and eating meals with some other Omegas here. You had classes on how to be a good Omega. How to best manage your heats. And how to keep your Alpha happy. It was misogynistic and disgusting, but you were holding it together. It was alright per se, but it wasn't home. There were two times when the house was miserable. Once was when you had your heat. You were forced to stay in your room. Given only essential over-the-counter medication for the pain. No matter how bad the cramps were. No matter how loudly you pleaded. You were not allowed to touch yourself. Not allowed anything that could provide some relief for the aching pulse between your legs. Some have even been tied down because they could not stop. However, the worst days were the days when the Alphas visited. They came in with confidence unlike you had ever seen. Their fancy cars and clothes could not mask their true nature. They saw you all as property. They didn't ask permission to touch or scent you. They didn't want to talk to you or find themselves in any kind of courtship. They tried to claim you as their own. They wanted to own you. Today was one of those days.
You took a deep breath, running your hands over the white dress you had to wear when the Alphas were here. It fits tightly across your chest, flowing slightly at your waist. The hem fell around your calf, showing your bare feet. You rubbed your bicep nervously and prayed that you didn't get chosen. You had lucked out the past four months and hoped your luck could get you one more month. A bit more time for him to find you. You knew he was looking. You closed your eyes at night and pictured his handsome face. His strong yet gentle hands holding you. His warm and perfect mouth...
Violet's voice calling all of you interrupted your thoughts. You rolled your eyes and made your way downstairs to greet the Alphas. You stood with the other Omegas. Some of them like you, begging to not be chosen, while others did whatever they could for an Alpha's attention. The door opened, and several men walked through. You could feel the arrogance and pride rolling off of them.
Violet introduced all of you. You felt like you were up for auction. It was sick and twisted. There was nothing weak or feeble about you or anyone here. All of these women deserved love and affection from someone of their choosing. Someone who loved them the way they deserved to be loved and adored. You left your body, flying high into the air, your mind conjuring up memories of your Alpha. His lips. His hands. His pointed nose. His green and gold eyes. How protective he was of you. Holding you like it was his last day.
A finger trailing over your neck pulled you back into the room with everyone. You slid your eyes over to the Alpha smiling in front of you. He leaned in, moving your hair out of the way so he could put his face into the crook of your neck. He took a large breath. Goosebumps covered your skin, and you did everything possible to not look as disgusted as you felt.
"I like this one." The Alpha moaned. His lips gave you a small kiss before he pulled away.
"Yes, I would like to have her." His eyes raked over your body. "Whatever the cost." He added.
"Very well, Alpha Luke," Violet said, her eyes staring forward. Your heart sank in your chest. What? You had been bought? You were going to be this Alpha's wife? Panic began to drip down your spine. Your stomach felt sour and sick. You bit your lip hard enough to draw blood to keep yourself from screaming.
"When will she be ready?" Luke asked.
"Tomorrow evening," Violet said.
"I'll be here at 6 sharp." He turned and took a few steps before turning back around. "Have her in more revealing clothes." He said with a wicked grin.
The door to your room closed. The lock slid into place. Its sound echoed as a physical manifestation of your sealed fate.
---------------------------
"Oh, my god," Dean mumbled around a pancake.
"What?" Sam asked, lifting his head from his laptop. He hadn't slept or eaten in days.
"I found it," Dean said. His face was bright, and his smile wide.
"You found..." Sam trailed off.
"The last house," Dean assured him, turning the computer so Sam could look.
"Let's go," Sam said. His voice was authoritative and raw.
Over the past four months, Sam, Dean, and Bobby had been on a never-ending search. They watched and observed wealthy Alphas. Following them to Omega houses. Sam trying to find you through your scent. Every time he walked away more disappointed than the last. He knew you were waiting for him. Sometimes, in the still hours of early morning, he swore he could feel your heart beating in his chest. He had to get to you. You were all he could think about. He could not rest until you were safe in his arms. Food lost its flavor. Whiskey no longer burned. All the things that once brought him joy felt useless and limp. He needed you.
----------------
You sat in the bath as it was custom for Omegas on their selling day. Four other Omegas sat around you. The water didn't feel warm to you. You had lost all sense of perception of the world around you. You almost felt catatonic from ache and anguish. You no longer felt the soapy sponge on your flesh or the delicate fingers that washed your hair. Your mind receded into itself. Not allowing you to accept that tonight you would be wed. Tonight a stranger would take you as his own. Laying a claimed mark on your skin. Time was up. Your Alpha couldn't find you. And now, even if he did. You would legally belong to someone else in only a few short hours.
This house and its customs. This society and its rules. They may contractually bind you to someone for money. But your heart could speak for itself. Your heart belonged to him. Your soul resided with his. Your Omega was his absolute pairing. A man whose name you didn't even know. And yet, he was yours. And you were his until the end of your days.
The Omega's helped you dress. A white outfit sat in front of you. It was what the Alpha had requested. The top was a lace corset highlighting your breasts with a matching skirt that fell to your upper thighs. The lace was not opaque. You could see your white underwear and a gathering of lace hid your nipples. Although it was clearly made to be removed, it was rather elegant. You looked in the mirror and closed your eyes. Even though this was one of the most sensual and beautiful items you had worn. You never felt more disgusting.
The ceremony started, and you practically lurched forward from nausea. You caught yourself on the railing, descending the staircase as you were told. Another Omega had been chosen as well. Her name was Tanya. You didn't know her well, but having her next to you was helping slightly.
You reached the end of the stairs and saw Luke waiting there. His eyes looked over you with a controlling lust that made your skin crawl. You lowered your head and walked over to him. His scent reeked of wet dog to you. He reached up and touched your cheek. It felt almost kind. Until his hand wrapped around your jaw and he yanked you towards him, your lips pulled uncomfortably together at his harsh touch.
"Mine." He growled in your face. The tears prickled in the corners of your eyes. Then...you smelt him. That delicious woodsy and citrus scent. Your eyes rolled back, and a sharp breath pulled into your lungs. Luke smelt him too. His lip curled. His head turned toward the entryway. The large doors began to shake against their hinges. Your breathing became loud and erratic. The wood began to creak and moan against the assault. Luke pulled you toward him, his arm wrapping around your waist. You tried to fight him off, pushing on his forearm.
The doors finally gave. They hit the house's walls with a resounding bang that echoed throughout the room. He stood in the middle of the doorway. His massive form was emphasized under the milky glow of the full moon. He wore a simple black t-shirt and jeans. His muscular arms were defined by the shadows of night. His face was stoic and stern. He wore a few days of stubble across his chiseled jaw. You stopped struggling when his eyes connected with yours. As soon as he saw you, his shoulders pushed back. His body stood to its full height, his head tilting up in dominance. It was as if time stood still. Your pounding heart was the only thing you could hear.
"'Mega." Your presentation was rounded beautifully by his flawless lips. The moment his boot crossed the door's threshold, guards were on him. Luke sneered, shoving you behind him. Your Alpha pushed the guards away one by one, his large and powerful hands all but throwing them aside like ragdolls. The same Alpha from the farmers market slid behind him on his knees. His body attacking with the same ferocity as your Alpha. The guards didn't give up without a fight. They continued to attack. Your Alpha landed several punches that knocked guards out cold. You swallowed, watching the sheer power coming from him. The guards left the other Alpha, and all came for yours then. His body taking hits from every side. You gasped and covered your mouth with your hands. Luke pounced, his fists flailing. The sounds of a fight filled the room. Hard contact of skin on skin. Low and heavy grunts.
You flung yourself into the pile, jumping on top of Luke. He threw you to the ground forcefully. You got back up and flicked your hair out of the way.
"Go! I got them, go!" The other Alpha screamed. He squeezed himself into the pile so your Alpha could break free. You started walking toward him, but Luke once again grabbed you. You flailed and kicked, and your Alpha pumped his arms to fight him. You spun in Luke's grasp, holding onto his shoulders and kneeing him hard between his legs. He fell, letting you free. You ran to your Alpha. He held his arms out for you. You jumped onto him, your body wrapping around his chest. He encased you fully into his arms. He backed you against the wall, looking deeply into your eyes. He lowered his head and ran his nose over your neck, scenting you. Your eyes fluttered.
"Omega." He mumbled.
"You came for me." You whispered. Your breath was low and deep in your lungs.
"I promised you I would." He moved his head to the other side of your neck. You gripped his shirt in your hands, rolling your hips against his. He groaned in your ear, his fingers digging into the exposed flesh of your thigh.
"Are you kidding?! Get in the fucking car!" The other Alpha screamed, breaking free from the assault. Your Alpha then ran out of the house with you, throwing you into the back of an old but well-taken-care-of car. The other Alpha jumped into the driver's seat and sped off. The two of you looked at each other in the back seat. You were both breathless and wide-eyed.
"I'm Sam." He said, turning fully to face you. You let the sound ring in your ears. His name. You finally knew his name.
"Y/N." You said with a genuine smile. You watched as his lips silently repeated your name. Sam reached forward and pulled a jacket from the car's front seat. He draped it across your shoulders and smiled at you. He had dimples that eased his dominant appearance and gave him a boyish charm. You lowered your nose to the collar and inhaled deeply. You curled inward at being completely surrounded by his scent.
"I'm Dean, by the way." The other Alpha said. "Not that anyone cares." He mumbled.
"I care." You piped up. "Hi, Dean. Thank you for helping to save me." You said politely.
"You're welcome." He looked at you in the rearview mirror.
Dean drove like a madman to ensure you would not be followed. Taking numerous side streets and even dirt roads through fields. The trip lasted a while until you finally pulled into a motel. You and Sam got out; they had already gotten two rooms. Dean went to stow the car somewhere in the woods.
You walked into the motel room, and suddenly everything felt real. This was real. You were with your Alpha. You swallowed nervously, and your fingers played with the hem of Sam's jacket sleeve.
He reached up to touch your face, and you instinctively backed away, cursing yourself as soon as you did it.
"Were you...?" Sam trailed off, letting him fill in the blanks. You looked down at the floor and tried to think of how to tell him.
"I don't want you to be frightened. You probably saw some scary things locked away in there. I want....No. I need you to know that I would never hurt you. You are my true mate." Sam said.
"Don't worry, Alpha. I assure you, I have been kept pure." You said, keeping your eyes down.
"You think your purity concerns me?" Sam asked you, his face tight with disbelief.
"They told me it was important." You explained. Your voice was small.
"Maybe to some Alphas, it is. To me, however, your well-being is what concerns me. I am your Alpha. Your protector. Your provider. I don't care what they told you in that house. I am telling you now that I am only concerned with your safety and happiness." Sam took three steps to close the distance between you. He took your face into his massive hands.
"I am not asking you if you are pure. I am asking if they hurt you?" His thumb came under your chin to lift your face to look at him.
"Not in that way, no." You said, feeling your confidence starting to emerge again from his words.
"Good." He said, keeping his emotions under control, although you did see him bristle. He glanced down and then back up, his eyes narrowing.
"When you say 'pure'...?" His voice questioning.
"Uh. Yes. I am a virgin." You said, your words were shakey with fear as you spoke them. His eyes widened, and his lips parted.
"What? I...Y/N..." His shocked face read so many different emotions.
"Does that scare you?" You asked.
"Not at all. If anything...it makes me want you even more." He confessed.
"Oh." Was all you said, looking away sheepishly.
"Can I ask why?" He asked.
"It just never felt right. I guess now I know why." You touched his face, running your thumb over his cheek. His eyes closed at the gesture.
"Have you done...anything?" He asked, his fingers playing with the ends of your hair.
"Yes. I have done some stuff." You answered honestly.
"Have you ever...had an orgasm?" He asked you, his voice shy.
"Yes." You admitted.
"But never during your heat?" He asked.
"Yes, it was during my heat." You corrected him.
"But I read the Omegas are forbidden...you weren't allowed to touch yourself," Sam was confused.
"They could stop my hands but couldn't stop my mind." You said. The confidence you once had coming back.
"Your mind? You thought about something?" Sam asked, his voice growing heavier.
"Not something, someone." You whispered, turning your head to kiss his wrist. Sam brought you even closer to him.
"You thought about...?" His body melted into yours.
"I thought about you, Sam. Only you. Thinking about my Alpha. My perfect mate. Even without your touch, you brought me to highs I never thought I could reach." You said, your body pressing harder into Sam's.
"I thought of you too, Y/N. When I was in my rut, I felt like I was about to explode. Thinking of you. Picturing your warm and pure scent. Imagining your soft body against me. Wondering what your name would feel like to finally fall off my lips. I could have sworn I could taste you. Thinking of you gave me the greatest pleasure I have ever known. Until now." He suddenly fell to his knees in front of you. Sam's long arms wrapped around you, his breath becoming heavy and fast. His hands tentatively removed his jacket from around your shoulders. His eyes watching yours to make sure it was ok with you. You nodded, silently begging him to continue.
"I am yours." He whispered. His nose trailed down your chest, his hot breath fanning your breasts.
"From the moment I scented you, I knew you were the most important thing in my life." He dipped his head down to your stomach to deeply inhale your scent. His lips caught on your shirt as he moved back up your body. His fingers gripping the fabric of your skirt. A desperate groan left his mouth.
"We are bound from this day forward. And if fate should be so cruel as to rip me away from you, I will find you in any life after this. You are mine. My Alpha submits to you. My Omega. My moon and stars. My Y/N." Sam's voice was barely above a whisper.
"I am yours, Sam. My Alpha. My sun and skies. Take me." You said through heavy breaths. Your hands took his face between them. Your fingertips traced the outline of his lips.
Sam didn't waste a moment. He instantly stood, grabbing you and taking you with him. He lifted you off the ground, wrapping your legs around his waist. His mouth overtook yours. Hot, wet, and possessive. You kissed him back, your tongue finally tasting him. Of all the times you had imagined this, nothing could have lived up to the real thing. The moment his lips graced yours, the cramps started. Your body fell into its natural heat from being with your Alpha. You gasped and gripped Sam tighter. He could sense it instantly, his primal instincts responding to his Omega. Sam's teeth sunk into your bottom lip, drawing a small amount of blood. You moaned into him.
"Claim me." You instructed. You twisted your fingers into Sam's hair, pulling his head back and forcing him to look at you.
"Show everyone who I belong to." You breathed, your voice low and confident.

The palms of your hands and your knees dug into the mattress beneath you, your head back and breath coming out in pants and whines with every thrust Sam gave. His hair tickles your skin as his nose moves along your spine. It’s been days of this, days of blissed out sex with him enjoying every little drop of slick your body has to offer.
“Sam,” you breathe out his name and feel the growl it brings out of him. “Please.” You’re begging again, you beg for it every time. Begging for his knot, which he gives, happily. But also begging for his claim, begging him to be yours and you to be his, which he hasn’t yet.
“I told you, I’m no good.” he whispers. “I’m just an alpha for hire, I’m with new people all the time. How will it work-”
You turn your head as much as you can, looking at him out of the corner of your eye as his forehead comes to a rest on your shoulder, his pace slowing to a halt. “I don’t care.” His head comes up, eyes meeting yours. “I want you, I want you to be my alpha. I don’t care what your job is, Sam, as long as you come home to me. As long as I’m the only one you love.”
"Bold of you to assume I love you." he teases.
While there were obviously feelings and a shit ton of lust between the two of you, love had never once come up. You opened your mouth to say something, but before anything could come out, he leaned in more, putting more weight on you and pushing himself impossibly deeper, just so his lips could press to yours. His lips leave yours, and you watch as they go right to your shoulder, slowly kissing his way to your neck.
“Are you sure?” he whispers against your skin.
“Yes.”
“How are you feeling, pumpkin?” your father asks, as you step into his office.
“I’m good, dad.” you smile sweetly. “I promise. It was just an early heat.” He gave you a nod as you crossed the room for his desk. “You’ve got that meeting in an hour, so I brought everything you need.”
“Thanks, pumpkin.” he smiled, watching you as you moved to the side of his desk and placed the files you’d been carrying down in front of him. Before you could pull away, he grabbed your arm and pulled you closer, making you turn and give him a confused look. “Since when do you have a mate?”
“Since last week..” you whisper softly, pulling away when he let go.
“Is it that little shit Jordan?” your father growled, making you laugh.
“No, daddy, it’s not. He’s not even in town… is he? Besides, I thought you liked the twins?”
“I like Jack. That boy has a good head on his shoulders. Jordan..” your father shook his head. “Too much like his mother.” That made you laugh even more. “He’s been after you since you were both kids, so I wouldn’t put his past him-”
“It’s not Jordan, dad. It’s neither of the twins.”
“Do I know him?” You chewed your lip at that, and while you didn’t answer him, you knew he could read you. He knew him. “What’s his name?”
“You have a meeting to get ready for.” you changed the subject. “Read up or they’ll eat you alive in there. Bye daddy!” you called back as you hurried out of his office.
He watched you go and huffed. His little girl wasn’t so little anymore. And he wasn’t going to let her hide this mate from him. Ignoring the files, he reached for his office line, taking the phone off the hook, tucking it between his ear and his shoulder, and started to dial.
It was three days after your father questioned you and he’d been silent about it. You weren’t sure if that was good, or bad. You got your answer when you walked in your front door after school and found your mother waiting for you.
“Mom? What are you doing home? You weren’t expected back until next Tuesday..” you glanced around, and spotted your father sitting in the sitting room with Selene at his side. If they were in the same house together, let alone the same room, it couldn’t be good.
“Kind of hard to enjoy a cruise when your father is blowing up my phone!” she snapped, making you freeze. “Something about me gallivanting off and leaving our daughter alone and vulnerable to be taken advantage of and marked?”
“It’s not like that, mom, I-” Before you could continue to explain things, Sam walked in behind you, bags in hand and talking out how meal prep was going to go for the dinner you had planned on making together that night.
“What is he doing here?” Sam stopped, head snapping up and eyes wide as he was faced with your mother, her hands on her hips and demanding an explanation.
“This is the guy?” Your father shot up from his seat and stormed forward. “This asshole you’ve been parading around is the one who claimed my little girl?!”
Your mother looked from your neck, to Sam. “You!? You did this to her!?”
“Please-” you tried to get between them and Sam, backpack falling to the floor.
“You fucked my ex-wife and now you’re fucking my daughter!?” your father was seething, face going red.
“Darling.” Selene tried to call out, but he ignored her and stormed towards Sam as he pushed his sleeves up, the veins in his forearms started to show the more pissed he got.
“No! This little shit is taking advantage of my little girl! She fucked off and left her boy toy in the house-”
“I did not!”
“- while my daughter went into heat, and-”
“HE NEVER FUCKED MOM!” you screamed, cutting everyone off. “He never fucked her. He never dated her. She never even let him in the goddamn house! He’s just an alpha for hire that she paraded around to piss you off!”
Your mom stared at you with wide eyes, while your father turned his glare from Sam, to your mother. “What!? This is what you’ve been spending my money on!?” he pointed to Sam.
“My money.” she corrected.
“My money!” he screamed back. “I was the one busting my ass off for years, not you! You just sat back and-”
“Honey, please.” Selene was now at his side, hand on his arm. “I know you’re both still very angry at each other for various reasons, but this isn’t why we’re here.” She glanced over at you and tried to give you an apologetic smile. “We’re here to support your daughter in any way she needs-”
“Oh, fuck off, Selene. She’s not your daughter.” your mother spat and Selene shrank away behind your father.
“Don’t you talk to my mate like that.” your father growled, ready to square off with the woman he’d once loved.
“Look, Sir, I know it’s not the ideal way to find out, but-” Sam tried, only to get cut off by a growl. Sam, being an alpha in his own right, dropped the bags to the floor at the threat and growled right back. He was a good 2-3 inches taller than your father, but it looked like he towered over him by a good foot at that moment.
“How about you all shut the fuck up!” you screamed over everyone, and they stopped. “This isn’t mom’s fault! I know Sam from school, okay? I’ve liked him since I first saw him on campus, so it probably would have happened either way, you know how I am when I want something.” You shot at your father. “And you.” you turned to your mother. “Enough with the bullshit! Just admit that you’re hurting and try to heal because you can’t blame everything on Selene, and Sam will NOT be your shield at any more events. Go out, meet new people, date properly and stop wasting money on some asshole alpha who doesn’t give a shit about you. No offence.” you glanced back to Sam.
“None taken.”
“If you keep this up, mom, you’ll be selling the house soon just to afford a date. Stop being so goddamn fake and maybe try some therapy. I’ll even go with you, you know I will, all you have to do is ask.”
She bowed her head as if in shame, and you took the opportunity to go and give her a hug, keeping a wary eye on your father who was shooting Sam another side eye.
“Selene?” She peeked out from behind your father. “Thank you for wanting to support me in this, even though you didn’t know the details and you knew how irate father was. It means a lot to me, and if it’s okay with Sam, I’d like to invite you to join us for dinner tonight. Sam was going to teach me to cook something new tonight, and I would love for you to join us and properly meet him.” you gave her a soft smile.
Selene glanced up at your father, then over to your mother who had a sour look on her face. “I don’t know..”
“I think they need to talk a few things out themselves.” you let go of your mother and nudged her. “Preferably somewhere public so they can’t murder each other.”
Your mother huffed and scowled at her ex husband. “Giovanni's?”
He winced at her. “Trash. La Regina’s is better.”
She scoffed. “You’re just saying that because your new brother in law owns it.” The venom in her tone was obvious and deliberate.
“Oh my god, just got to Georgio’s you literal children!” you couldn’t believe they were fighting over this too.
“Georgio’s is the best.” your mother mumbled. “And we haven’t been since-”
“Since our little pumpkin graduated.” he smiled at the fond memory. “Right before the divorce.”
“We always were happy at Georgio’s.” your mother smiled fondly and started for the door.
“It’s impossible not to be with those servings.” your father laughed. He turned, giving Selene a soft kiss promising that he’d be back soon, and followed your mother out. “Separate cars?”
“Unless you want to arrive in a body bag.” your mother jokes, and they both laughed.
You sighed in relief as Sam pulled you into a hug and the front door shut behind them. “And I thought they were bad at events.” Sam mumbled.
“You ain’t seen nothing yet.” You took in a deep breath, taking in his scent and letting it calm you. “Alright. We’ve got dinner to make.” you pulled away and smiled up at him. “Sam, I’d like you to officially meet Selene, my step mother.”
“Lovely to meet you again, Sam.” she held out a hand, and he was more than happy to shake it.
“Lovely to meet you again, too, Selene.”
“I’m sorry about my mom.” you apologized to her as you start to pick up the bags that had been dropped, Sam grabbing another and Selene picked up the last one before either of you could.
“It’s fine, dear. I know how she feels about me.”
“I hope you know how I feel about you.” She looked over, giving you a slightly confused look. “I’m glad to have you in the family. It’s been good seeing dad so happy again and I’m thankful for it.” Her face went flush as she glanced down at the floor with a shy smile. “I think mom will come around, eventually.”
“I hope so.” Selene mumbled. “Despite everything, your father once said that he thought we could be great friends, that we’re pretty similar in a lot of ways.”
“Wouldn’t surprise me. Dad has a type.” you laughed and started leading the way to the kitchen.
“Looks like you have a type too.” she glanced at Sam with a smirk. “Jordan isn’t as tall, but the hair and build-”
“Who the hell is Jordan?” Sam asked, and you laughed. “I feel like I’ve heard you say that name before…”
“No one worth worrying over.” you glanced behind you with a smile.
“Jordan has been in love with her since they were children, the way I hear it.” Selene whispered to him. “He has a twin brother and comes from a wealthy to-do family.”
“No seriously, who the fuck is this Jordan?”
“You’re going to scare him off, Selene!” you laughed, putting the bags down on the counter. “Don’t get him all worked up about the Montgomery boys.”
“Wait.. Mrs. Montgomery’s twins!? That’s my competition? Jesus f-”
Laughing, you turned and pulled him closer. “There is no competition, Sam. I’m all yours.” He put the bags on the counter behind you as you got up on your toes. “My big, bad, jealous Alpha.” With a grin, you placed a gentle kiss on his lips and he growled into it.
“You guys are so cute together.” When you looked over, Selene had her chin in her hand, her elbow on the island counter and was watching you dreamily. “Reminds me of when your father and I first mated.”
When you look back up at Sam, he’s already watching you with a dopey grin. “Love you.” you whisper, and his dopey grin just gets wider.
“Yeah, maybe I do love you, too.” he teases.

Sam was holding Olivia’s hand in the elevator. His fingers were entwined with hers, and she couldn’t remember the last time she felt this happy. She’d never had a year start out with this much promise. Her heart felt light with possibility, inspired by the way Sam had kissed her at the stroke of midnight just minutes before.
When they reached the 26th floor, the car stopped, the doors opened, and the other two people in the elevator exited, leaving them alone. Sam let go of Olivia’s hand and turned to face her, pressing her into the wall. His mouth covered hers, and she felt herself going weak from his kiss. He could almost make her literally light headed, like she had lost touch with reality, her mind floating in a blissful place created for her by him.
When his hand traveled below her waist to rest on her hip while he kissed her, she had the presence of mind to say, “Sam, the doors could open. Somebody could see us.”
He squeezed her ass. The way he was looking at her made her understand what smolder meant. “They could.” He paused for a minute, letting what he’d said sink in, and the idea of having an audience suddenly became very hot. Then, he raised his hand to caress her cheek. “Everybody on the other side of those doors should envy me because I’m in here with you.”
The bell dinged, and Sam let his hand drop from her face. They had reached their floor. He put his hand on her waist, very respectable for anyone who might see. Olivia thought about what they must look like to anyone who saw them, and it made her smile. They no doubt appeared to be a couple headed back to their room after the party.
The reality was they had two rooms, but maybe tonight they wouldn’t need them both. Olivia’s heart began to beat faster when Sam stopped at his door and took her hands in his. “Will you come inside with me?”
She gave herself a minute to enjoy that this was actually happening after weeks of dreaming about it, already the smile was blooming across her face. “Yes.” She uttered the word that was going to change her life, knowing that if she spent this night with Sam her feelings for him would grow even deeper, and she would be committing herself to a path that she would find difficult if not impossible to leave should things not work out.
He took off his jacket as soon as they were in the room and tossed it on the bed. Sam pulled the shirt from his tuxedo pants and started to unbutton it. Olivia couldn’t take her eyes off him. Sam opened the buttons to the middle of his chest, and he stopped, his hands hovering over the next button. He fixed his eyes on Olivia. “Do you want to finish for me?”
Olivia stepped out of her high heels and walked toward him, and Sam moved his hands so she could take the button in her fingers. She made her way down his shirt. With each button she opened, she exposed more of his golden skin. When the shirt was hanging open, she put her hand on the center of his chest and slipped her fingers beneath the fabric to feel his skin, as warm and soft as she remembered, over the firmness of his pecs.
Sam bent and kissed her again. This time his tongue touched the seam of her lips, asking for entrance. She parted them, letting him in. He put his hand into her hair and lightly grasped a handful while he kissed her. Olivia’s hand slid down his body to just below his ribs, and she let it rest there. She needed to touch him, remind herself he was solid and real; this wasn’t a dream.
He still tasted faintly like chocolate from the dessert they’d shared earlier. She pushed the white dress shirt off his shoulders and down his back. It fell to the floor, and she put her arms around him so she could feel the muscles rippling beneath his shoulder blades while he continued to kiss her and drag her deeper into the kaleidoscope of feelings she had for him. They were ever changing but always beautiful and fascinating as the form of them changed.
She heard herself make a noise somewhere between a sigh and a whimper as Sam kissed down her neck all the way to her clavicle that was peeking out from the v-neck of her dress. He sucked on it gently, and she started to ache for him in her core.
Sam reached behind her and eased down the zipper of her dress. With just as much care, like he hadn’t undressed her before, he peeled the dress from her body, and it pooled on the floor. Sam lowered his eyes and looked down her body like he’d never seen it before either.
“God, you are amazingly beautiful.” His words stirred something in her. She’d heard them before, or some variation. Usually when men said them, it meant “I want to fuck you.” This was different. Sam was looking at her like he actually saw HER, not just her body.
He held her face in his hands and kissed her tenderly, with just the right amount of passion to awaken something in her like a sleeping princess. Olivia hardly noticed him walking her in the direction of the bed while he kissed her; she was so lost in the way he was making her feel. Sam lay her down on top of the plush comforter and lowered himself on top of her.
The feel of him on her made her whisper Sam’s name into his mouth. His weight felt reassuring; she felt safe caged in his arms, even as the fire he had started inside her began to burn brighter and hotter. “Sam,” she called his name again.
“Tell me what you want,” he whispered against her lips.
He made her feel so secure, so wanted. She wasn’t thinking. “Make me yours.”
Sam kissed her more deeply, his tongue becoming more insistent as it circled hers. He moved his hand slowly down her body, taking his time to feel every inch of her skin. Then he slipped his hand into her panties and found her clit. He teased it while he kissed her, moving his finger over it slowly, until it was swollen and aching.
Then he started to move his finger in fast circles, causing Olivia to grab onto his shoulders and gasp, “Oh, God. Sam.”
He nuzzled his nose into her neck just below her ear. “Let go. Come for me, Liv. Make my hand wet. Show me how much you want me.”
Her walls clenched hard around the emptiness when she came. “Sam, I need you.” She sunk her fingers into his hair while her orgasm continued to tear through her.
Sam covered her mouth with his and kissed her while she climaxed. “You’ve got me, baby.”
Olivia kissed him back, her lips soft and weak from the pleasure he’d given her. “More, Sam. I want more of you. Give me all of you.”
Sam lifted himself from her to take off his pants and drag her panties down her legs, leaving her bare and wanting before him. She opened her legs, asking him again silently to give her what she needed. Sam positioned his cock at her opening and pushed inside just a little, testing her readiness for him.
Her body accepted him, stretching to accommodate his size. “Does it feel good, Liv? Am I still what you want?”
“Yes, Sam. Yes.” She pulled at his hair and raised her hips, trying to get him deeper. With a smooth motion, he thrust into her and sheathed himself completely inside her body.
Olivia couldn’t have him closer than this, but it still wasn’t enough. She wanted even more from him, never had a man been so completely all consuming when she was with him. Every thrust of his body into hers pulled her a little more into the spell he had woven around her. By the time he came with her name on his lips, she knew she had passed the point of no return. She came with him, biting her own lip to keep from screaming.
When Sam pulled out of her, Olivia felt the loss. He was still right next to her in bed, busy with removing the condom. There was nothing romantic about this moment, but she still felt the pull from within her to reach out and touch him to reassure herself he was still there. Olivia resisted the urge and focused on catching her breath. She could barely breathe after what he’d done to her, the feelings he’d stirred to life that Olivia suspected would now never die. One day she would feel him inside her without that thin layer of rubber between them. She would know exactly what she was feeling, be able to put it to words, and say it out loud.
When he finished the necessary business, Sam laid down next to her and put his arms around her. “Are you okay?”
Olivia nodded. “Y...yes. It’s just that was...intense.”
Sam gave her his softest smile, barely turning up the corners of his mouth. “Yeah. It was.” He shifted a little to grab a handful of the comforter under him and moved to pull it from beneath him. “C’mon. Get under with me. I don’t want you to get cold.”
The covers were warm, but Sam’s body was warmer. As soon as she was in the sheets with him, Sam pulled her close. He kissed the corner of her mouth and reached behind her to open the hooks on her bra that she was still wearing. He lowered his head to her breast and placed a single kiss on her nipple.
She shivered from the tenderness of it. Sam moved his mouth back to hers and kissed her just as tenderly there. “This is the best New Year’s Eve I’ve ever had.” Those were the last words he said to her before she fell asleep in his arms.
The next morning Olivia awoke to an empty bed. A bubble of panic rose up in her, and she grabbed Sam’s pillow. She could still smell him all over the bed. Where was he? Last night was too good to be true. She knew it. It was too much like a fairytale, or some romantic movie. Olivia sat up and held the sheet against her chest, suddenly very aware of how naked she was in Sam’s bed, and he was gone.
That was the moment Sam came strolling out of the bathroom with just a towel around his waist, slung low over his hips. He walked over to the bed and leaned down to kiss her. “Morning, gorgeous.”
The smile instantly spread across Olivia’s face again. Sam’s hair was still damp from the shower. She reached out to touch it, wanting to know how it felt wet. It was still soft; she curled the ends of it around her fingers. His hair was the softest thing about him, other than his lips, and Olivia felt a blush beginning to creep into her cheeks, remembering everywhere those lips had been on her body.
She’d been so focused on her thoughts, she hadn’t noticed the way Sam was smiling at her. “You’re even prettier in the morning,” he said. Now, the blush that had been on the verge of happening bloomed over her cheeks. Sam kissed her flushed cheek. “Why don’t you take your turn in the bathroom? Breakfast is going to be here soon.”
“Breakfast?” Olivia sat up straighter and tucked the sheet around her like a sheath.
Sam rubbed his thumb over her bare shoulder with an easy familiarity and sensual reminder of the night before. “Yeah, breakfast. I ordered room service while you were still sleeping.”
Sam noticed the way Olivia was holding the sheet around herself. He lifted one side of his mouth in a flirty half smile. “I can look away while you walk to the bathroom. Or….” He stood up and finished his sentence. “You can have my towel.”
He untucked the fold of the towel that was holding it on his body, and it fell away from him. Sam held it out to her. She’d spent all night in bed with this man, allowing him to do all kinds of marvelous and memorable things to her. Still, the sight of him naked made her mouth fall open slightly.
Olivia’s eyes made their way from his hazel eyes that were the green of emeralds shining in sunlight right now, down over his impressively broad and muscled shoulders to the veins in his strong forearms. They moved down farther to his taut abs and the thin line of hair leading down to his cock that was large and thick even while soft and hanging between his legs. Her eyes finished their journey down his legs, as lean and muscular as the rest of his body, and back up to his face.
Sam was still holding his towel out to her. “Go ahead. Put it on.” It surprised Olivia just how well he could read her. She was not feeling nearly as bold or confident as he was on this morning after, but she could certainly appreciate, and was thankful, that he was.
The towel was as damp as his hair, but Olivia didn’t care. She liked knowing she was putting on the same towel that had been around him just seconds before, and it was true she wasn’t ready to feel his gaze on her nude body in the bright light of morning. She told herself she was just being weird to feel self conscious at this point, after how intimate they had been with each other, but it made her feel vulnerable not knowing exactly where whatever this was between them stood.
Sam did turn his back while she got out of bed and put on the towel, but he made it seem like the most natural thing in the world. He was rifling through his suitcase, looking for some clothes, conveniently facing the other direction. Olivia couldn’t help herself. She snuck a peek at his firm ass as she made her way to the bathroom.
Once there, Olivia took a deep breath. She was still waiting for the coach to turn into a pumpkin. So many thoughts and feelings had been coursing through her that more practical matters had completely vacated her mind. Things like she didn’t have any clothes. The cocktail dress she’d been wearing when she entered Sam’s room the night before was still on the floor where it had fallen when he took it off her.
Sam was thinking more clearly. There, on the counter, lay one of his t-shirts that he had folded neatly and left for her. Olivia ran her fingers over the Egyptian cotton, appreciating the luxury of it and the thoughtfulness of the man who’d left it there for her.
She dropped Sam’s towel to the floor and turned on the water in the shower. She checked the stream to see that it was warm enough before she stepped inside. Rivulets of water ran down her body, and she turned so the water could cascade over her hair. She ran her hands through it, pushing it back from her face.
Olivia closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of it. She luxuriated in the water running over her body for a minute or two before she began to bathe herself. The hotel had, of course, provided bath gel and shampoo in an almond scent that was divine; but Olivia wished she had her own that was back in her room. She wanted to smell pretty for Sam, the way she’d smelled last night.
When she was done with her shower, she toweled herself off and slipped Sam’s t-shirt over her head. The v-neck was cut so deep it went nearly down to the top of her stomach, but she was covered. Funny, she was trying to cover herself now. Fortunately, it was also long enough to conceal her lack of underwear.
Breakfast had arrived when she reentered the bedroom, and Sam was arranging food on a tray. He looked up; his eyes skimmed her body, taking note of what she was wearing. Olivia thought for a moment that she saw the flash of a memory in his eyes, or at least she hoped she did.
His smile and the accompanying dimples shortly followed whatever he’d been thinking. “Get back in bed.” His voice was smooth and suggested a hint of a request, just enough to not be an unmistakable direction he expected Olivia to follow.
She climbed back into bed and settled the covers over her lap. Sam placed the tray over her legs. Considering how much food was on it, he must have ordered everything on the menu. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and cream; sweet and savory were well represented.
The clock hadn’t struck midnight yet; the fairytale continued. “Sam, what is all this?”
He sat down next to her on the bed. “I wanted to make sure you have something you like.”
Sam noticed Olivia eyeing the strawberries. He picked one up, dipped it into the cream, and held it to her lips. She took a bite, and Sam’s eyes didn’t leave her mouth as she chewed. When she swallowed, he kissed the corner of her 0mouth and licked his lips, tasting the bit of cream she’d left there. He lifted his darkening eyes to hers and said, “Strawberries may be the sexiest food there is.”
He was doing it to her again. All her words bypassed her brain and went directly out her mouth. “When you’re holding one, they are.”
Sam picked up a pancake, rolled it, and dipped it into the cream. He painted Olivia’s bottom lip with it then kissed it off. “Maybe it’s pancakes.” His whisper was suggestive, and he tapped the rolled up pancake against Olivia’s lips.
She opened her mouth to take a bite and kept her eyes focused on him while she chewed. Then she answered, “They’re good too.”
They ate breakfast together from Olivia’s tray, alternating between feeding themselves and each other. The looks they shared became longer and more lingering throughout the meal. Between bites of food, there were sweet and sensual kisses that danced on the edge of passion until finally falling over that edge to open need for each other.
Sam’s tongue tangled around Olivia’s, the intensity of the kiss increasing until he broke it to move the tray from between them. He put it on the floor, not bothering to take it back to the table. The only thing he kept from the tray was his water glass which he put on the bedside table.
With nothing in his way, Sam pulled Olivia close and kissed her with her body pressed against him. She could feel the heat radiating from him. Her own body was heating up in response to the way he was moving against her, and when he eased his hand inside the “v” of the shirt to cup her breast she moaned.
“You like that, baby?” Sam pushed the shirt out of the way, freeing her breast, closed his mouth over her nipple and began to suck. Olivia sank her fingers into his hair and held him to her.
He swirled his tongue around her nipple and licked her like she was the best thing he’d tasted that morning, even sweeter than the cream at breakfast. Sam pulled off her nipple slowly, raising his eyes to meet hers. “Do you know how hot you are?”
Her only reply was the raising and lowering of her chest as her breathing got faster. Sam reached for his glass on the bedside table and pulled an ice cube from it. He ran it down the side of her neck, and she shuddered at the cold. Sam continued dragging the ice down her body to her exposed breast.
He touched the ice to the tip of her nipple where the heat of his mouth had been, and she arched her back into it. “You are so sensitive, Liv. I love that about you.”
Sam pushed the other side of the shirt open and latched his mouth onto her nipple while he continued to tease the first with the ice. She was clenching now, yearning to feel him inside her. “Sam, please.”
When the ice had completely melted, he moved his hand down between her legs to stroke her clit with his cold fingers. After a few seconds, Sam moved his mouth from one breast to the other. His mouth felt even hotter on her chilled nipple. “Oh, God. Sam.”
Olivia was so caught up in the sensations he was producing in her body, she didn’t realize what he was doing until she felt the ice cube touch her clit. She grabbed at his back, and when he eased it lower and pushed it inside her; she thought she might come undone. Sam circled his fingers on her clit while the ice melted inside her. He released her nipple so he could watch her.
When the ice had turned to water that leaked from her onto the sheets and her orgasm started to wash through her, Sam caught her mouth with his. He kissed her through every shake and spasm of her body. He felt her body go lax when she was spent, and he slowed his kiss.
Her soft little breaths filled his mouth. Her kiss was equally soft, weakened from the intensity of her orgasm, but her desire for him was still strong. “You, Sam. You.” Olivia’s hand closed around his hard shaft through his sweatpants. “I want you.”
Sam had no intention of denying her. He stripped off his clothes in a matter of seconds, and pinned Olivia’s wrists over her head, encircling them in one of his strong hands. He entered her with one deep, smooth thrust. Sam started to move, using the sounds she made as a guide to let him know when to speed up, slow down, or go deeper.
This time they came together. Sam grunted just before he let go with his release, and Olivia urged him on with her whimpers of pleasure. She contracted around him, milking him for everything he had.
Sam collapsed over her but kept his full weight off her, holding himself up on his forearms. He took a few seconds to catch his breath, then slipped from her and rolled to the side. He lay on his back next to her, his arm over his head. “That was incredible.” His breathing still hadn’t returned completely to normal.
Olivia looked at the ceiling for a moment before letting her eyelids flutter closed, enjoying the sound of his voice and the warmth of his body beside her. “You’re going to wear me out, Sam.” She smiled as she said it, her eyes still closed.
She opened them when she felt Sam shift position. He was propped on one elbow, looking down at her. “I’ve got an idea.”
He looked almost boyish the way his hair was falling in his face, and he was clearly pleased with whatever he was thinking. Olivia smiled up at him. “What’s this idea?”
“It’s New Year’s Day, so most everything in town will be closed, but the parks will be open.” Sam leaned down to kiss her softly, then continued explaining what he had in mind. “There’s a park by the river where I’d go to think when I used to come to Austin. I’d like to show it to you. We could take a picnic. What do you think?”
Olivia reached up to brush his hair back from his forehead. “I think I’d like that.” Her heart was fluttering in her chest. This year was off to a very promising start.
Sam walked into his office, shutting the door behind himself. He was seeing a new client today, one who had gotten themselves caught up in a twisted deal. It was an example of why you should never, and he meant ever, trust a demon and whatever rolled off of their fiery tongues.
Putting the folder onto the table, he paged Garth, telling him to send in the woman with the case. Whilst he was waiting, he took a sip out of the mug of coffee that had gotten delivered. Jo sure knew how to make a brew, it was still warm, but not to the point where he was wheezing for air to cool down his mouth.
A knock sounded from the door, it was light. Too light to have been Bobby demanding that he made an appearance in court to sentence the monster who had corrupted someone’s life.
“Come in.” He spoke thoroughly, making sure that his voice was clear enough that his guest could hear it on the other side.
Opening the door on command, you quietly closed it behind you, walking towards where the Sam Winchester was content in his office chair. When you first booked a meeting with the man, you expected him to be older, but you supposed whom you were thinking about was Samuel, his grandfather.
The whole Winchester clan was in this business. You were aware that John and Mary Winchester had a couple of children, and you supposed that this Sam was one of them.
They had a nick for helping their clients win their cases, although admittedly you had to pay a pretty penny to even get the opportunity of being in the same room as one of them. Sam was the cheapest, you supposed the reasoning behind it was because he was the youngest, and had the least experience.
Although to say that he was a newbie would be incorrect. There was a clean record behind his name, which had followed him through the current extent of his career. But a part of you were afraid that your demon problem was a little bit different.
The man with the black eyes was a little different. No matter how high your hopes were for the lawyer and their tricks of the trade which made demons weep humanly in sorrow, you doubted the damage that a man could do against him.
It seemed like every time a demon was dragged into the court, they had nothing to lose. They relished in the attention of the jury’s eyes and tried to undermine the judge, some even laughed when holy water was spilt over them.
“Please take a seat,” Sam flipped through your file to get information, “Ms (Y/L/N).” He gestured to the one tucked into the front of his desk, opposite where he himself was seated. You complied, taking time to look at the man, he was rugged in a handsome sense, and clearly comfortable with where he sat in this hierarchy.
“Call me (Y/N).” You smiled politely, tucking hair behind your ear as you nervously waited for this session to properly start. With the certain demon that you were dealing with, you weren’t how much you would be seeing this Mr Winchester.
He’d either cut you short when he heard the dreaded name, or he’d attempt to be sly, compiling every piece of evidence he had against said demon.
“Well (Y/N).” He cleared his throat, adjusting his tie as he scooted his chair closer to the desk, resting his hands atop of it. “What deal have you happened to get yourself tied up in?” It was a question that he had asked too many people too many times. It was a line that had been imbedded in him from a young age.
“Apparently, I’m going to Hell.” You spoke, remembering when the demon had told you that. The response you had given however was not the one that Sam was seeking. It was expected after all, if you had made a deal with a demon. “The hounds are going to be sent after me, and rip me limb from limb, as I was told.”
“What was that sentence in exchange for, and how long did you have?” Shaking your head, you sighed. The Winchesters were your last hope, no other firm would take on your problems.
“It’s his revenge.” You answered, everyone who questioned you on the matter expected that you had signed your life away for some luxury or fortune. No one suspected what was the actual truth. “He needed a vessel for one of his knights, and I refused. I would not say yes, and so I am doomed because of my will to live as a human being.”
He reached for his pen, jotting down notes on a pad to the left of him. This was not the average case that he was used to dealing with, no one had even came through the door without having sealed a deal with a kiss.
“And what did you say that this demon’s name was?” Now this was the bit you weren’t looking forward to. The demon was untouchable, many had tried to pull him down the chain and send him back to his painful home, but none had managed to do so.
“I didn’t, but he’s called Crowley.” At the mention of the well known demon, his eyebrows shot up, forming creases to punctuate on his forehead. “The king of Hell.”
Crowley was the CEO of the firm that tried to protect the demons that went on trial via the Winchester’s company. And he had managed to save many black eyed lives, to the family’s dismay.
Sam wasn’t sure what to do. Time and time again, they had tried to make the man stoop, but this was out of his sector. There was only one way that this would be stopped, and that would be if you just said... no, you couldn’t. He would find a way, even if he was setting himself up for his first failure.
Crowley wouldn’t get away with this. It was blasphemy.

“What is that?” Dean stared at the book in Sam’s hands. “Sammy, are you serious? Come on, man. You can’t be reading that depressing Russian stuff… No wonder you’re always moping around here lately…”
“Okay, first of all, I have not been moping. Second, this is one of the greatest literary works of all time.”
“Dostoevsky?” you asked, stepping into the library, snacking on a small bowl of pretzels. Dean immediately plunged his hand into it and stole a few and you tried to wrestle the bowl back away from him.
Sam laughed at the exchange. “Yeah,” Sam said. “The writing is incredible.” He stuck a slip of paper in the book to mark his place and shut it, turning to give you a small smile as you slapped Dean’s hand away as he reached for your bowl again.
“Ow!” Dean gave you a sour look but ceased trying to steal your snack. “Alright. We need a hunt. There has been entirely too much sitting around here lately,” he said.
“Have you forgotten that my hand is still in a cast?” Sam said, gesturing with his injured hand.
“No. But Y/N and I don’t need you,” he said with a snarky grin.
“I know. I’m sorry. I just—I didn’t know what to say even…”
“I don’t know. You probably could have started with ‘Sorry I didn’t say goodbye and just ran off’,” you said, your tone a little harsh. You thought your anger had abated somewhat over the last few weeks, but maybe not enough. “‘Sorry I lied to you and Dean and, worst of all, Sam’ for—for how long exactly?”
There was only silence on the other end of the line for a long moment. “Look, I was just calling to tell you that I’m going home for a while. So, if you were wondering where I am, that’s where I’ll be.”
“…what about this mystery man?” you asked her. “Is that over already?”
“No, but… I just need to sort through some things.”
“Okay. Thanks for telling me.”
Another pause on the other end. “I am really, really sorry that I lied to you.”
“Yeah, well… I hope you learned something from all this.” Dean and Sam came wandering out of the library, expressions of concern on their faces. “I gotta go.” And with that you hung up.
Dean’s eyebrows raised in an inquisitive expression. You shrugged. “My sister. She’s going home for a while. I mean, not home exactly, you know, but out hometown.”
The Winchesters nodded. “So, about that hunt, Dean…” you said.
Dean looked eager but Sam still looked uneasy. He didn’t like the thought of you hunting without him being there. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust you and Dean’s skills he just… the thought of sitting out helpless filled him with fear. It was just the what ifs.

Sam watched from the Impala as the door to the building busted open and you and Dean came rushing out. You were limping and Dean had your arm over his shoulder, taking some of your weight. Your left pant leg was soaked with blood below the knee. Sam threw open the door and was immediately on his feet, rushing over to you and Dean, his expression completely consumed by worry.
Dean had a shadow of what would certainly be a nasty bruise around one of his eyes soon, but he looked otherwise no worse for wear. When Sam got close he could see a large gash through your jeans on your calf. You gritted your teeth but gave him a smile through the grimace as he looked back up to you, his face clouded with unease. “Oops,” was all you said.
“What the hell happened?” Sam asked urgently, moving to your other side to take more of your weight.
“Well, I may have gotten thrown into a pile of rusty metal. Maybe. Maybe not.”
“Coven was a little bigger than we anticipated,” Dean said gruffly from the other side. “They were hurling curses at us from all directions as soon as we walked in. God, I fuckin’ hate witches…”
“Dammit, Dean! I told you this was a bad idea!” Sam scolded him, his heart racing with his anxiety. “We should have waited!”
“Sam, I’m fine. It’s not that bad,” you said, doing your best to reassure him. You tried to hide how much pain you were in. The gash in your leg was deep. It would need stitching. “If we had waited, there would be more dead people and probably more witches. I’m okay, really.”
The muscle in Sam’s jaw tensed. “You’re bleeding a lot,” he said. Dean rushed to open the door to the Impala for you, giving Sam a moment to look you over more thoroughly. You had little cuts and nicks everywhere and he was sure that you’d be pretty banged up and bruised tomorrow. The furrows in his brow deepened.
“Well, I’m gonna need stitches for sure. But I’m fine,” you said. Sam slipped his arm from around you and immediately unbuttoned his flannel. He ripped off one of the sleeves easily and bent to tie it around your leg, which was difficult with his casted hand but he managed.
You breathed in a sharp hiss of air as he tightened the fabric over the gash.
“Sorry,” he said.
“It’s okay. Thanks.” You gave him a tight smile, but Sam could see beads of sweat breaking out along your hairline. You were clearly doing your best to downplay the injury.
“Alright. Come on, hot rod,” Dean said, rushing back around the Impala to help you hobble over to the car and slide into the back seat. You leaned back against the headrest and shut your eyes as soon as you were inside. Sam slipped in next to you, his tall frame a little cramped in the back seat, but he wanted to keep a close eye on you for the drive back to the motel.
In no time the Winchesters were helping you back inside their room and Dean was pulling stuff out of the first aid kit. Sam helped you sit down on the edge of one of the beds, and you swung your legs onto it. You pressed your back up against the headboard and Sam sat down on the other bed, facing you.
You looked over at him. “Sam, would you mind pouring me a nice, big glass of whiskey?” you gave him a pleading smile. “I’d like to be a little bit intoxicated while Dean sews my calf muscle closed.”
Sam felt a pang of regret but he got up and grabbed a glass, pouring in a generous share of hunter’s helper. But he also grabbed a second glass and filled it with cold water from the tap. He brought them both over to you, handing you the whiskey and setting the water glass beside you on the nightstand. “Just make sure you drink some of the water too. Please,” he said, giving you a serious look.
“You got it,” you said, nodding. You immediately downed the entire tumbler of whiskey and Sam sighed heavily, giving you an anxious look.
Dean was ready with the first aid kit and he had filled up the ice bucket with warm water. “Sammy, would you go grab all the towels and washcloths from the bathroom?” he asked, settling on the edge of the bed next to you.
“Sure.” Sam came back with a stack of towels.
“Alright, boss,” he said. “Let’s see what you’ve done to yourself here,” he said, untying the scrap of Sam’s flannel from around the gash and shoving a towel underneath your leg.
You could already feel a warmth starting to grow in your chest and head from the whiskey. “Hey, I didn’t do anything to myself,” you retorted. “I didn’t put that pile of scrap metal there and I certainly didn’t throw myself into it.”
Dean laughed gruffly. “No, you did not.” He pulled out his knife.
“What the hell is that for?” Sam asked urgently.
“Well, I need to get into Y/N’s pants and quite frankly we don’t have time for my usual process, so—” he said, throwing a smirk specifically in Sam’s direction.
“Dean!” you scolded him, but you couldn’t help letting out a small laugh. You felt your cheeks growing a little pink. Sam threw a dirty look at his older brother.
Dean slipped the knife into the cut through your jeans and slid it around your leg, cutting away your lower pant leg so he could better see the wound. He tugged the scrap of fabric off and tossed it to the floor. “Yikes. Okay. Here we go.” Sam watched fixedly as Dean washed away the blood on your leg and poured some disinfectant over the area, eliciting a few expletives from you due to the burn. Sam watched you grit your teeth and clench a fist, shutting your eyes and leaning your head back against the headrest for a moment.
He came around Dean to your side and gently touched you on the shoulder. Your eyes shot open and met his kind, warm hazel ones. “You okay?” he asked.
You nodded. “Yeah. I think that whiskey is really starting to kick in,” you said. Your head was starting to feel a bit fuzzy and the warmth you felt in your chest was expanding outward.
Dean’s voice called your attention back to your leg. “Alright. I’m gonna start stitching you up. You ready?”
You gulped and nodded, bracingly yourself for the pinch of the needle and the uncomfortable sensation of the tug of the thread. Sam sat down next to you on the edge of the bed and held out his uninjured hand to you. You felt yourself blushing a little, and your heart responded in a nervous whir, but you placed your hand in his. Dean began.
“Son of a—!” you squeezed Sam’s hand in yours and shut your eyes, doing your best to take steadying breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Sam watched Dean work carefully.
“Dean, you gotta make your stitches smaller—”
Dean shot an annoyed glance at his brother. “Really, Sam? You know this isn’t my first rodeo? You wanna get in here and do it? Oh, wait, that’s right, you’re a cripple. So, why don’t you just be quiet and let me work, okay?” He turned back to his work, working skillfully and quickly.
You gave Sam’s hand a squeeze and despite the sting of the needle couldn’t help from giving him a small smile. His worry was so sweet… You felt the effect of the whiskey growing and let out a sigh, drawing a look from Sam.
“You okay?” he asked, more anxiety on your behalf manifesting in a small worry line near one of his eyebrows. You heart was racing from the way he was looking at you and the feeling of your hand in his.
“Mmm. Mhm,” you managed, pointing to your head with your free hand. “Whiskey,” you said. You heard Dean let out a gruff laugh.
“You frickin’ lightweight,” his deep voice said.
You ignored him and shut your eyes against another pass of the needle, giving Sam’s hand another tight squeeze. You felt his thumb suddenly passing over the back of your hand so softly it was almost as if you were imagining it. Your heart skipped a beat and nervous butterflies appeared in your stomach.
“Almost done,” Dean said. Another minute and he tied off the stitches and wiped the blood from your leg again. He grabbed the antibiotic ointment, applied it to your leg, and wrapped the whole thing up with gauze. “Done,” he announced, giving you a crooked half-smile.
You stared down at your leg, all wrapped up. “I’m part mummy now,” you said. The Winchester brothers had a comically similar expression on their faces, eyebrows lifted at the slight slur in your voice. They exchanged an amused look.
Sam was relieved, and his face broke into a small smile, deep dimples appeared on his cheeks. You were fine. “…How about some water, Y/N?” Sam asked, picking up the glass from the nightstand and handing it to you. You accepted it obediently and took a sip. Sam moved down toward your feet and untied and pulled off your boots. He tugged off the sock from your injured leg, which was soaked with blood. Dean was gathering up the bloodstained towels and throwing them in the laundry bag by the bathroom.
“Thanks, Sammy,” you said. The slur was even more obvious in your voice when you said his name.
He sat down on the other bed across from you, a little amused smile still on his face, elbows on his knees, hands interlaced a little awkwardly due to his cast. God, you loved those dimples. “ ‘Sammy’, huh?” he said.
You nodded, sipping some more water. “Sorry. Should I not call you that? Only Dean is allowed to call you that.” You were holding his eyes unabashedly. The whiskey was giving you a little more courage.
The smile on Sam’s face grew. “I’m okay with it. You’re the only other person I don’t mind calling me ‘Sammy’.” His face turned serious again though as he looked at the other little nicks and cuts on your hands and face. He grabbed a clean washcloth from the nearby stack and wet it with warm water from the ice bucket. He pressed it gently to a cut on the back of your hand, wiping away the dried blood. Your eyes stayed fixated on his face while he worked, drinking him in. There was another cut near your collarbone and Sam’s heart started to race.
“Um, do you mind if I—?” he asked, gesturing to the crimson mark.
Your eyes didn’t leave his face. He could have asked you for anything at that moment. You shook your head in answer to his question and Sam watched you pull your bottom lip in between your teeth for a moment, not knowing it was from nerves and that continued blooming feeling of warmth in your chest. He gulped at the nervous tightness in his own throat and wondered again at how intimate this felt with you, how the air seemed charged. He couldn’t even really remember a time when he had felt this with anyone else.
Sam gently pressed the washcloth to your skin, dabbing at the cut, wiping away the dried blood there. You shut your eyes at the sensation and leaned your head back against the headboard. Your leg was aching and burning, but you felt surprisingly relaxed even though your heart was racing in your chest with Sam so close to you. You worried he would hear it pounding.
“That’s better,” Sam said, drawing away from you again, feeling the space between you growing as if each inch were a mile. Your eyes flutter open again and you caught his.
“Thank you.”
Sam nodded, giving you a half-smile that had a flood of thoughts behind it. Just then Dean stepped back out of the bathroom and went to the small minifridge. He grabbed an ice pack out of the freezer and a beer from the fridge. Sinking down into the armchair in the corner, he wrapped the ice pack in a towel and applied it to his cheek and eye. He popped the beer open with another hand and let out a loud sigh. “Well. That’s that,” he said. Dean gave Sam a knowing look, obviously sensing some mood in the room, and Sam was grateful that your eyes were closed again so you didn’t catch it.
You let out a yawn and Dean stood up, his hand still pressing the cold pack over his eye. “Well, I don’t know about you two, but I’m beat. Y/N, you can take my bed tonight when you’re tired. I think I’ll just go crash in your room now…” Dean gave a pointed look to Sam whose eyes went a little wide. He gulped nervously and gave Dean a questioning and somewhat harried look. Dean only grinned at him. “Alright. Well, hope you can get some rest even with that leg, Y/N,” Dean said. “Night,” he added, opening and disappearing through the door to your adjoining room with his beer.
Those nervous butterflies flitted to life again as you glanced over at Sam. He gave you a small but bright smile, and it lit up the multifaceted hues in his eyes. “Are you tired?” he asked you.
You shrugged a little vaguely. “I can’t tell,” you said. “I just feel… warm.”
“Warm?”
You nodded. “Mhm. Whiskey.” Sam couldn’t take his eyes off of you. He was so relieved that you were alright, that your leg wasn’t worse. He smiled at the answer and slur in your voice.
“Yeah, you sound a little like whiskey,” he joked.
“Sorry about your flannel,” you said suddenly. Sam cocked his head in a question. “You ripped it. And then I bled all over it.” This elicited another laugh from Sam and he shook his head.
“I’m just glad you’re okay.” He looked thoughtful and glanced down at his cast, resting his other hand over it. “I hate this,” he said. “Not being able to be on the hunt. Being out of commission. Sucks,” he said, catching your eyes. “But I stand by what I said before. I’d still do it for you again.”
You pulled your bottom lip in between your teeth nervously again and Sam watched your eyelashes flutter as you looked away. God, that drove him crazy.
You managed to find your voice somehow. “You know, I’d do the same thing for you.”
Sam’s heart hammered harder in his chest. He wanted to kiss you so badly right then. The way you were looking at him went straight through him, straight to his heart. But your words were still a little slurred from the whiskey and it just wasn’t the time. He finally tore his eyes away and straightened up from where he was sitting. “You should rest. Now we need you to heal up fast, too.”
You nodded and watched fondly as Sam went over to his duffel bag and pulled out his book, settling in against the headboard of the other bed to read. Sometime shortly after, you fell asleep, still propped back against the headboard, your head lolled forward. Sam shut his book and got up as quietly as he could. He slipped his arms around you, one underneath your knees and one behind your back, and gently moved you farther down in the bed so your head was on the pillow. You stirred only a little as he slipped away from you again, his heart jumping at the feeling of you in his arms, no matter how brief. Sam grabbed the comforter and folded it over you, shutting off the light on the nightstand and laying down in his bed, even though he knew sleep wouldn’t come. His mind was preoccupied with thoughts of you… and whether he ever would find the right moment to tell you how he felt, or to show you.
You awoke to a cruel ache in your injured leg and glanced at the clock next to you, glowing in the darkness. It was just after 2 am. You realized you were covered over with the blanket and knew Sam must have done it, and you smiled at his sweet kindness, always so consistent. You started to slip out of bed but you immediately heard Sam’s quiet voice.
“Y/N? Are you alright?”
You smiled. “I’m okay. I just have need some ibuprofen for my leg,” you said.
“I’ll get it for you,” he said, immediately climbing out of bed.
“You don’t have to get up, just go back to sleep. I’m fine,” you reassured him, but he was already refilling your water glass and digging the pill bottle out of the first aid kit.
“I was already awake. It’s okay,” he said, handing it to you.
Your brow drew down low over your eyes as you accepted it from him. “You were? Sam, you need sleep,” you said, and the worry was heavy in your voice.
“It’s alright. It’s not like I’m hunting right now. Sitting around at the bunker doesn’t require much sleep. I’m okay.”
You swallowed a few painkillers and looked at him for a long moment. “Come over here,” you said, patting the empty other side of the bed.
Sam felt a jolt of electricity up his spine. “What?”
You gave him a small smile, sweet and warm and kind. “Just come here,” you said, laying back down in your bed, stretching your injured leg out, turning to face toward the other side of the bed.
Sam swallowed hard at the nervous bundle in his throat. His heart was absolutely pounding. He worked up the courage and made his way around to the empty side of your bed, hesitating for a moment, unsure of what exactly was happening.
“C’mere,” you said gently. “Lay down.”
Sam swallowed hard again and laid down beside you. As soon as his head settled on the pillow beside you, you slipped your fingers into his hair and ran them gently through the silky strands. Sam shut his eyes at the sensation. It was raising goosebumps on his skin and he felt his mind instantly quiet. He could have laid there forever, so close to you but not quite touching, your fingers running through his hair. He drifted off to a deep and peaceful sleep for the first time in a long time.

Dean was up quite early, checking his black eye in the mirror and frowning at the dark purples and broken blood vessels ringing his eye like a halo. He wanted to shower and change, but he’d left all his clothes in the other room. He made his way to the door and listened carefully for a moment. He didn’t hear any movement and it was still pretty early, so he figured you and Sam must both still be asleep. He cracked the door open as quietly as he could and peeked inside. He was surprised to see you and Sam both asleep on the same bed. You were separated by half a foot but your bodies were clearly angled toward one another and Dean smiled even wider when he noticed that your hand and Sam’s were quite close, and perhaps had been intertwined at some point.
Dean tiptoed in and made his way over to his duffel bag, shouldering it as quietly as he could and trying to sneak back out of the room, but he heard movement behind him as he was nearing the door and glanced over his shoulder to see Sam was now awake, sitting up and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He noticed Dean with a struck expression and rose from the bed.
Dean grinned widely at his little brother and wiggled his eyebrows at him, his hand on the doorknob to the other room. Sam looked nervous and glanced back down at you before crossing the space to Dean and pushing him into the other room, shutting the door behind them both.
Dean couldn’t suppress the smile on his face and Sam was shifting his weight a little anxiously from one foot to the other. “Did you have a good night, Sammy?” he asked through his grin.
Sam swallowed hard. “Nothing happened, Dean, so you can wipe that smirk off your face.”
“I’d say something happened. That’s the first time you’ve had a decent night’s sleep in how long? Aaaand you were in the same bed, sooo…”
Sam gave his brother an appraising look. “Nothing happened.”
Dean just laughed gruffly. “Come on, Sammy. Even just sleeping in the same bed… that’s—that’s something. That can be… intimate.”
Sam gulped at the tightness in his throat and swayed a little on his feet as Dean slapped him hard on the back and then departed for the bathroom.
