It's struck me as interesting that Karen (*sob*) looked much more similar to that clip of Beatrice playing peak-a-boo from Leo's memory (it's probably the hair).

I'm wondering if this was a conscious choice? Perhaps suggesting that Karen finally got to be a mother, which was the purpose she was designed for.
