I personally stopped writing football fics bc of the engagement. I could get a 100 likes but most of them never commented. I would say that 75% of all the comments I've ever written were people demanding a part 2 or similar. it feels like you're talking to a wall and it's not rewarding at all, in the end you just stop seeing the point on all the effort.

i completely get you!! engagement seems to be at an all time low recently like uggghh. + even when you spend like a whole damn week on something, it gets like 55 notes and ur just sat there like wtf went wrong. (but when comments don’t spawn i feel selfish thinking that they should.) it’s sad because i, you, and many other writers would like LOVE having a community that js showed appreciation ykwim. it’s such a tricky one. although, when i notice like engagement on my works is low, it does ruin my motivation.

but if you ever feel like writing again, pass over your @ and i would be glad to hype you up !

At least some people are kinda on the same boat as me. But I also don’t think most of my threads have even gone past a mid-point either which I think is even worse in terms of pacing.
