Phenomenal Black Gay Men
Heterosexual trans people get all the attention in the trans community, even though historically this community was made by bi and homosexual trans people. Trans men attracted to men and trans women attracted to women use their straight privilege to erase all the gay trans people who came before them, even suggesting they're not gay. We don't need a trans version of straight pride, please. Opposite sex attraction is always validated.
I think this is some discourse I have brought upon myself for, uh, existing, but apparently, I gotta justify my existence now.
I don’t think I can name too many straight trans people I know IRL, most of my trans friends experience at least some form of same-gender attraction. Likewise, outside the transmed community, the internet tends to concentrate on non-heterosexual trans people.
The distribution of same-gender attraction among trans people is comparable to that of cis people, with slightly higher numbers that I personally attribute to the likelihood of sexuality exploration happening in those exploring their gender.
And, to bring my personal experiences into this, I have to tell people I am straight because, upon finding out I am FTM, they automatically assume I am homo- or bisexual. So regardless of where this ask is coming from, you may be a little outdated in your judgements.
Same-gender Loving

Same-gender loving (SGL): A term coined by Dr. Cleo Manago to describe African-Americans with same-gender attractions.
Same-gender loving has been used to redefine the terms gay, lesbian, and bisexual. In doing this, Manago challenges the assumed link between sexual minority identities and the stereotypes that accompany them.
- Courtland Douglas
The brown stripes represent the Black/African-American community. The spectrum of red through blue represents the spectrum of femininity and masculinity in SGL people, with the purple, white, and yellow representing neutral and GNC presentation.

*Just thinkin' bout how SGA and SSA are different and both are no excuse to be violent towards people
*Like... if you're gay or lesbian same SEX attracted rather than just same GENDER attracted... TELL PEOPLE. And then tell people your exact preferences when asked! And don't get offended when people ask!
*It's tough to be trans and not know whether you're included in someone's sexuality cus they won't fucking specify, and to risk being hated for it every damn time you ask. Just because you're trans.
*Also, no, this isn't just about TERFs and don't make it about them. It's about cis male gays and some truscum too.
*It's not just you fucking suffering here and I will die mad about it
Reminder that gay mean homosexual meaning that you’re attracted to the same gender, and ONLY that gender. Gay doesn’t mean bisexual or pansexual or asexual. It means homosexual.
A positivity post: SGA people are so valid!
Me, a dumbass: yes, I love John Sheppard, Ronon Dex...
