You're telling me you don't remember mid 2010s bi/pan/acecourse? The hell that was all of that? (I had the misfortune of identifying as bi, pan and ace at various points in that period)

You don't remember late 2010s transmedicalism ? Being called a trender even if you were binary trans because you don't believe you need dysphoria or need to be binary to be trans? The pushback against that transmedicalism (which was affectionately called trendercore)?

The late 2010s and early 2020s rise of the self-described baeddel movement? The noticeable shift from generic mainstream feminism in queer spaces to specifically radical feminist talking points?

You're telling me some people here don't know? And if they were too young at the time, they haven't been told yet by someone else what went down and what came of it?

Like, this was only 10 years ago at most and barely 6-7 years ago at least.

Maybe I'm just old (mid 20s) but when you've lived through all the other waves of queerphobia and see the pattern, transandrophobia on this site just reuses all the same talking points.

Like I don't know how to break this to ya, but those people are right. A lot of the discourse aimed at asexuals on this site were perpetuated by radfems, ya know THE discourse. The stuff that forced people back into the closet, traumatized a good chunk of our community and left it an echo of what it once was. Maybe YOU, random tumblr user aren't any of those things but understand that a good chunk of the people you associate with are. A lot of that boils down to the ideology they hold (in general).

I get that it sucks to be a woman in society, I'm afab. I just don't think the way radfems choose to react to it is justified, understandable, but not justified. I don't see how treating all men like animals, and all women as harmless is particularly beneficial in the long run. Especially when it isn't even doing any good in the first place. When it often comes at the cost of my trans siblings.

I hope you take it as a sign to get out of there before you get sucked down a really nasty rabbit hole.

If you are overly involved in LGBT+ discourse of any kind maybe you should go spend some time in your local community spaces and see that that person that you said isn't queer enough for your tastes is an actual fucking human being who is probably more involved in the local community than you are.

Also if you think this is a bullshit rule consider why YOU are so comfortable to label with a community label without contributing to a community, and instead making it a label for all the people you agree with.

If you are reading this your special brand of exclusionary LGBT+ discourse is not holy or exempt from this. Im not even going to list everything coming to mind because that detracts from my point.

ace exclusionists have the reading comprehension of a peanut you can say "ace discourse on christmas is pathetic" and they will read it as "christmas is an asexual holiday" my brother in christ that is a whole new sentence

Both LGBT people and straight people were jumping on this black asexual women. Mainly saying she couldn’t be asexual because she’s wearing fetish gear(like since when did asexuals have a dress code). In both the quotes and replies. Plus they were asking, “what right do asexuals not have?”

Either way, I think it’s time we had a discussion about asexuality leaving the LGBT community and forming a community of our own and making exclusive organizations that just support US(Asexuals). Because it’s pretty clear the rest of the LGBT doesn’t want us, and I’m not going to waste my time around people who don’t want us.

This is gonna sound major cringe and is also a bit of a downer considering its asexuality day, but we've apparently all collectively decided to abandon acecourse and everyone has realised that bashing aces isnt that cool actually, which im SUPER grateful for, and i just wanna quickly say that acecourse and how people treated aces has kind of fucked me and other aces on here up lmao.

I wasnt ashamed of being ace until you fuckheads taught me it was cringy, immature, invasive, fake etc etc. I have seen people call aces "inherently homophobic", "childlike", "basically straight", "attention whores", "wanting to be oppressed" and worse SO MANY TIMES. Ive seen ppl who were big names on here (lmao) spout hurtful and untrue shit and be celebrated by thousands of bloggers. Ive seen people make up the wildest strawmen and the most unhinged conspiracy theories about how aces were gonna steal all the lgbt ressources (????what) and how allosexual was apparently a slur in some dialect in canada and how the split attraction model was homophobic and ive seen you fucks eat that shit up. Yall made fucking sideblog dedicated to telling aces they werent valid. Like????? How pathetic is that??? I remember some of the most vicious ~exclusies~ and some of you are still active to this day and i doubt yall have the self-awareness necessary for it, but i hope you feel at least a little bit sorry or ashamed.

This entire narrative was incredibly damaging and tbh i havent fully processed it to this day. I cringe whenever i see someone post about asexuality, i cringe when someone mentions an asexual character, i cringe when i see asexuality trending. I wasnt like this before yall decided my identity was something you could flex your debate team muscles over.

Fuck you.
