TAKE ME INTO THE NIGHT FALL IN TO THE DARK SIDE 😈✌️
i think it's sad that a lot of new books are being reduced to "fanfic tropes", losing a lot of that nuance
in honour of the occasion (and to maybe make me finish this WIP) lemme share the premise of the fix-it fic I’m writing atm
So there’s two universes left after Chuck destroyed all the others. One is canon as we know it, and in the other Cas and Dean got together when Cas came back in s13 Tombstone. However, in both universes Cas still goes to the Empty for Reasons I Will Figure Out Later.
In both universes, Dean is distraught so once they’ve defeated Chuck, he finds a spell to resurrect Cas. UNFORTUNATELY, both Deans do this at the same time and since the Empty is outside time and space and whatever, it decides to fuck their shit up by switching the Cas-es (Casi?).
Canon!Cas gets resurrected into a world where Dean’s gotten over his internalised homophobia and is real comfortable with showing Cas he loves him, and Cas is so so tempted to just stay in this universe where he gets a Dean who loves him back, but he knows he doesn’t belong there. He almost finds it excruciating when Dean tells him he loves him and it just slips from his tongue like it’s no big deal.
Meanwhile, Canon!Dean gets a Cas who he’s allowed to get to know him inside and out for the past three years. He’s angry and grieving and still hasn’t come to terms with Cas loving him even though it’s been months, cause even though he believes Cas meant what he said about him he doesn’t believe it’s true. HE has to deal with a Cas that knows him inside and out, that he’s told all his fears to already, who knows exactly what to say to get through to him. And when he finds out that other-him has been openly in love with Cas for years, he feels so inadequate and jealous - why couldn’t he have been the one to say it first? why couldn’t he be better? why did he have to drive Cas away?
and couldn’t he just keep this Cas, who doesn’t have all that baggage?
anyone feel free to talk to me about this idea i have been stewing over it for MONTHS
So basically TFA ripped half of its plot from Star Wars and the other half from Mass Effect

Mun:
This has indeed been drawn before. I do not regret a thing.
