A King has Landed
The war had been long and hard and devastating. Finally, when she had lost enough, Kaura fled. It was not in her nature to do so, but this war had broken her and created her anew. She was flighty and secretive and nervous. If she was found, she was lost.
It took years for her to come out of hiding. Years to figure out that King's Landing was a sanctuary once more. The Dragon Queen had won and purged Westeros of it sickness. Life could go on.
But not for Kaura. Not yet. There was still unfinished business to be dealt with, and that business was her brother. If Daenerys Targaryen ruled Westeros, then Jorah guarded her back. If Jorah was with Daenerys, then that was where Kaura had to go. She would not be able to find peace until she had been reunited with him.
She had stayed in the Rainwood for much of her solitude, so the journey to King's Landing was much shorter than it might have been otherwise. She cared nothing for the journey itself and so she noticed little of it. Only when she came to the Lion Gate did she begin to notice her surroundings.
The city was happy again. People had food and shelter and all the whores they could ever want. Good. At least this dragon had been more successful than the last.
She made he way to the gate of the palace where she was roughly commanded to halt. She had not thought of how to get past the guards. What story could she possibly tell?
