Hyping up my Sandman comic animatic again

Warnings for some implied spoilers, any other warnings at the beginning

look. look, hear me fucking out.

i need a corintheus edit or comic or animatic or even a FIC that revolves around "congratulations" from hamilton.

this one. just think about it.

"it was a political sacrifice" could most definitely be a corinthian line.

"i languished in a loveless marriage in london, i lived only to read your letters, i look at us and think oh god, what have we done with our lives, and where did it get us [...]" is so fucking perfect for morpheus coming back to find out what corinthian has done (it kinda villifies morpheus as well but dark!morpheus is so good).

"and you know what im here to do." "angelica..." — "im not here for you." is SO DAMN GOOD for corinthian reaching out to morpheus to try and get him to understand why he did what he did, and for morpheus to show his anger and his betrayal at his actions before he settles on unmaking him.

"put what we had aside, im standing at her side, you could never be satisfied, oh god i hope you're satisfied." 'her' could be lucienne (who kind of took the brunt of the damage of the nightmares' betrayal) or the Dreaming itself.

maybe im not even making sense but GOD i want it. i will love you forever if you do this.

I haven’t done animatics in a long while, but making this one was a really fun, but lengthy process. I worked on it on and off over two months and really like how it currently looks. Although down the line id love to do a version with color shading, and some more movement.

I’ve been really into the Sandman since hearing about its announcement and have loved doodling the characters. I thought the Hall’s part of the storyline particularly interesting. How intertwined with the plot they are, no matter how much they try to escape it and the bittersweet fate that each of them have. Lyta’s sort of an underappreciated character whose actions made through grief are really compelling. The fact she tries to protect her son so much, just to be the one who seals his fate into what he becomes and thus loses him, is so tragic. So, it seemed like a really interesting storyline to adapt an animatic into.

Originally, since this isn’t the entire song, I considered having a part more focused on Morpheus. It would have been the second chorus and possibly would reshow events from his perspective. But, his version of events already exists. It’s literally The Sandman comic. So he stayed in surprisingly brief, but important appearances and he gets a small section where he feeds the birds with Death and reminisce.
