Saints and Thieves (Kaz x oc)
Anger is one of the best motivators as well as spite. At the moment Yinlei has plenty of both. She storms across the Crow Club with a purpose. The dregs recognize her angry stride. With her cleaning bucket clanging at her side sounding like an entire army is behind her, and brandishing her op like a sword they all know she was on a mission.
Yinlei’s goal was to make it to Kaz Brekker’s office. Many people were worried about what was about to happen. Only the saints can save the Bastard of the Barrel. No being could possibly stop the wrath of Yinlei.
Yinlei makes it to Kaz Brekke’s office quickly. She knocks on the door to be civil and barges in out of anger. She slams the door behind her and brandishes her mop like a sword. Pointed at the nonother than the infamous Dirty Hands, “ I am warning you now Kaz Brekker! Things better change around here or there will be hell to pay!”
Kaz just gives her a quick glance from focusing on his work. Unfazed by the threat, “And what will this trouble be exactly?”
Yinlei snorts out what was supposed to be the release of an angry breath, and makes the scene more comical, “I will fight you and take control of everything! The Dregs and the Crow Club will be mine. These streets won't remember the infamous Kaz Brekker, Dirty Hands, The Bastard of the Barrel!! They will only remember Yinlei the uh... The.. THE TERRIBLE!”
Kaz stops his work and gives his attention to Yinlei and her outburst for the moment, “When you defeat me what will be your first course of action as the new gang leader,” Kaz asks, humoring the girl.
Yinlei stares at Kaz with her face unmoving and her eyes cold, “Make them all clean not only the Slat but the entire Crow Club as well! They will all learn respect and fear! Rotty and ooh especially Rotty will be responsible for all the bathrooms!”
Kaz sighs and starts going back to his work, “Sit down,” he demands.
Yinlei drops her bucket with a clatter and rests her mop on Kaz’s desk. She then finds her favorite seat and pulls it up to the desk. Kaz knew what was about to happen and was not in the mood to be disturbed by Yinlei’s pacing and complaining when she had an outburst. He will get more work done if she sits down and complains.
“It will be swift and everyone will learn to respect and fear me quickly. Especially Rotty! He will learn who is the boss and to clean up after his messes.”Yinlei angrily mumbles.
Kaz just pushes a box to her with his cane, “If you have nothing better to do than complain then fix these.”
Yinlei lightly kicks at the box, “See this is why one of these days I will challenge you,” She begrudgingly starts pulling her work out of the box.
The box is filled with a miscellaneous assortment of costumes. Various places on the garments are in desperate need of repair and maybe a good wash. Kaz also hands Yinlei a list of what exactly needs to be done. It is all a various mixture of hemming and repairing. Yinlei grumbles about the work. When pulling some of the costumes into her lap Yinlei notices a weird smell. Against anyone’s better judgment she brings one to her nose then starts to lightly sniff it.
“Those are awful! Where did you even get these?!” Yinlei asks quickly pulling the garment away from her nose.
Kaz lets out a sigh, “What made you smell the clothing in the first place.”
“I don't know my brain said to do it, and I did it. I blame you for it.” Yinlei states.
Kaz lets out an annoyed sigh and stops his work once again, “How exactly does that correlate to being my fault?”
“Easy, you know I have little to no impulse control. Thus you gave me these disgusting clothes on purpose! Knowing that there was a good chance that I would smell these foul atrocities.” She accuses Kaz.
“Do you really think that I would purposefully waste time and come up with a plan to make you sniff clothing?” Kaz asks.
“Yes,” She says matter of factly.
“Congratulations you have the same problem-solving capacity as a Stadwatch member,” Kaz states going back to work.
“Hey, that's a new low Brekker!” Yinlei protests.
Kaz ignores her statement and continues to focus on his work. Every so often Yinlei will stop her work and make sure to complain about it to Kaz. Occasionally Kaz would make a remark or counter her complaints. Time went by quickly for the pair, and finally, Yinlei was done with her work. She retired to her room to clean herself after dealing with the awful clothes she finished and made sure to let Kaz know that if he wanted the garments washed. That it was now a him problem.
After waiting enough time for her to leave Kaz stops his work and gets up. When he makes it to the door of his office and opens he summons the closest Dreg to come to him, “Find Rotty and tell him I need to see him immediately,” Kaz orders.
The Dreg runs off and Kaz heads back into his office and sits back down at his desk with a groan. He starts doing his work and not too much later Rotty is knocking on the office door, “Enter.”
Rotty enters the room and is about to sit in the chair Yinlei previously was sitting in, but Kaz cuts his eyes to Rotty and the man freezes, “Do you know who just left my office,” Kaz asks.
“Yeah, it was Yinlei,” Rotty nervously says.
Kaz goes back to work “And do you know why she was here?”
Rotty pulls at his clothing and rubs his neck, but never moves from his spot, “Probably something about cleaning?”
“Exactly and do you know why that is a problem,” Rotty just remains frozen and looks like he may pass out, “Because it distracts me from work.”
Rotty just lets out a nervous laugh and Kaz takes this as a time to speak, “Go wash the garments in the box, and make sure to warn the Dregs that they better stay cleaner than they have been lately. If Yinlei comes in here again and complains about anything and disrupts my work there will be trouble.”
Rotty just silently picks up the box of clothing and unfortunately smells the garments in the box, “Oh Saints! This Shii–”
Kaz cuts Rotty with a glare. This silences Rotty and makes him start to leave. Kaz goes back to his work, but when he hears Rotty grab the doorknob he speaks up, “And Rotty when you're done with that make sure you clean all the bathrooms. To Yinlei’s standards.”
Rotty starts to spout profanities under his breath, but not quite enough for Kaz not to hear, “Do you have anything to say Rotty,” Kaz adds.
“No, none at all,” Rotty answers unevenly.
“Then go. Once you finish everything, come back here. I need you to do a quick job for me,” Kaz informs.
With that final command, Rotty leaves like a bat out of hella, and the door slams behind him. Kaz is left in the quiet of his office. Eventually, Kaz gets up from his desk and locks his door. He then makes his way further into the office where the secret door is. Once open he heads into the underground workings to start some serious work. There is no rest for the wicked.
