I always am fascinated by the combination of colors artists choose to put on their palette. And I don’t think this obsession with color will ever wain, but the more I learn, the more I understand that color is the least important element of the painting process. We all see color differently, light changes color, color changes depending on the color it’s placed next to on the canvas and we can’t always trust we are seeing color accurately. Value does all the heavy lifting, but it seems color gets all the credit.
