ITS OFFICIAL!!!! Me and some of my DCP besties are going to Disneyland next year! Can’t wait :)
Reading “Never Eat Alone” tonight while snuggling with Buzz. Friday nights might not consist of going out anymore, but I’ve got the will and determination to turn this journey into a lifelong career. Trying to soak up all the knowledge I can 📚📖
Pre-arrival information.
So I was chatting with Rebecca today and she reminded me that I never posted about my first week. However, before I talk about how my first two weeks have gone at work, I want to do something of a “things I wish I knew” list. Before moving to Florida, there were tons of expenses coming out of my parents and my pocket, it was hard to believe how expensive moving can be. Here’s a list of things I wish I had saved for before moving to Florida.
1. Deposit for your apartment - mine ended up being $400.
2. Pet deposit (if applicable.
3. Gas money/food money for the drive down. About $300 from Virginia to Florida in an SUV.
4. UTILITY BILL DEPOSITS. My new electric company required a deposit the amount of the past two months bills if you hadn’t been paying for utilities for at least 24 months, so obviously Sammy and myself had to pay the deposit. It ended up being ~$300 dollars! I don’t know how the people before us ended up using $150/month worth of electricity, but this was a cost I expected to be much smaller when budgeting to move.
5. Home decor. This may make me sound like a bit of a brat but I promise it’s just my Type A personality coming out. When I moved in, I wanted to have my apartment completely decorated before starting work. Simply because I knew I would be completely exhausted from working all the time and I wouldn’t want to decorate later on down the road. However, this meant spending a lot of money up front to decorate on things that I technically could have gone a couple of months without. I’m glad I decorated though because when I get home the last thing I want to do is go out and run errands all night long. And now I come home to a comfy home that I enjoy spending time in.
6. Not getting a paycheck your first two weeks. I wish I had saved more money to live off of for my first couple weeks since the first week I only worked 4.5 hours and then it was another week until my full paycheck came in. I began working on June 10th and I just got my first large paycheck for 40 hours of week today, June 25th. Again, another expense I hadn’t really thought of in the process of getting ready to move.
All-in-all, I would say that my moving experience could have been a lot worse, just ask my DCP roommate Khalee. I could not have done any of it without my friends and family so HUGE thank you to them (mom, dad, Nina, Papa, Lauren, Sammy, and Hayley for keeping me sane).
My next post will be about my first couple of weeks at work so keep your eyes peeled!

First Week.
Hi friends! This first week of my Professional Internship is coming to a close, I have so many things to post, I am going to sit down tomorrow night and write up an extremely detailed post tomorrow and/or make a vlog. I’m hopefully going to write in this journal once a week, I am so happy, exhausted (good exhausted), and reflective about where my career is headed.
Stay tuned for more info coming tomorrow.

Casting.
OFFICIALLY A REHIRE OF THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY.
It may seem so silly, but today I was so excited to get to Casting and fill out paperwork. That’s right - paperwork. Sammy (my roommate) and I both had an appointment for 1 p.m. so naturally we got to Casting at 12:30 p.m. and got in line. Most of the Disney recruiters for Internships were there and it was nice to finally put faces to names! I met my recruiter John Stephenson and he was so nice!
We were explained the process of the day - background checks, Disney look guidelines, and i-9 documentation. We moved from one step to the next and the whole process probably took an hour.
It was such a different feeling being back in that building again, not overwhelmed, just strictly excitement fluttering throughout my body. It was so surreal. I didn’t realize how much I missed being a part of this company until I was reinserted back into the culture. It truly is a Disney family and I’m proud to be a member.

I haven't been on my Disney blog in quite some time, but I guess that's all about to change since I'll be starting a Professional Internship on June 10th. This whole process has been absolutely tormenting waiting to hear if my career with Disney would begin again, but so rewarding when I received that phone call from John asking me if I'd accept the offer. I have been on Cloud 9 for the past few days letting it sink in that I am going to be working in Disney Corporate. Just when you start to lose hope, the pixie dust comes back in and proves why you've worked so hard for this. I'm feeling extra magical today and always ✨
