Daminette December 2025: 18-Stupid Questions
Lila put on a brave face in front of the quad and strode up to the 'couple'.
"Damian, are you really dating Marinette?" She questioned, loudly, "You can tell us if she's forcing you; if she knows something."
"Do you really believe that I would ever touch you?" He shot back.
Lila felt the invisible slap across her face.
"Why would you ask her that?" Shouted Alix.
"If she did not want a sarcastic answer, she should not have asked such a stupid question. " the Wayne heir snapped back.
The class' shock was broken by the sound of Marinette's laughter.
"Seriously. Lila was concerned about your well-being!" Alya cried out, "Why are you even with someone like her?"
Damian turned his glare onto the group, "Marinette is a hardworking woman, who isn't afriad to speak her mind. She isn't some frail nobody."
Lila flinched as he spoke his words, she felt directed towards her.
"She's the daughter of bakers." Sabrina called out, "How is that not a nobody?"
'Chloe always reminded Marinette how she was beneath everyone.'
"Her parents own a business. They are known throughout Europe. Her family are world-renowned in the food industry." Damian stated, "Her great-uncle is a five star chef, owns multiple resturants, and guest stars on shows. Her grandfather makes very traditional bread, while her parents provide Paris with gluten-free options. Her Nona travels the world, without asking for money from her husband, so obviously she has her own or is very well connected."
The class remained silent. They had never thought about her family in that light. Sure her parents bakery was well known, but all over Europe? Marinette had mentioned her grandfather was very traditional in his baking and several of them had met her Nona, who showed up on occasion. As for her Great-uncle, he had been a chef in Chloe's hotel for a while and even a judge on a show. Mari had told them he went back to China.
"Marinette is a fashion designer." he continued, "She has NDA contracts so she cannot talk about her business or clients. I have met a few of them, on accident, as they have interrupted several of our dates."
Lila gulped before she spoke, "But she's not rich. Aren't rich people supposed to marry rich people? Isn't that like….a rule?"
"Only new money like the Bourgeois and Agreste think that way." the youngest Wayne scoffed, "They need the money, now that they have expensive taste, and cannot fathom living without it."
"And the Waynes could?" Alya questioned, stepping closer to Lila.
"My father turned eighteen and travelled the world to learn about cultures so he could help people and make him a better owner for Wayne Enterprise. Several times he was robbed, beaten, ate scraps or ate cultural delicacies , such as larva." Damian stated, "My siblings are all adopted. Mother trained me in military from a young age. Myself and my siblings have been arrested for various reasons. The money just keeps us controlled. Personally, I would be with the environmental activists or PETA. I was first arrested at age ten for freeing the animals in the zoo."
Marinette smiled, ignoring the class as he continued, "My best friend is the grandson of farmers and he visits them every summer to help. I have gone with him and his family gives me tips for my pet cow."
"You have a pet cow?" Mylene asked, excitedly.
"I also own a turkey; his name is Jerry." Damian answered with a smile, "I am a vegetarian."
"How big of a home do you have?" Mylene questioned.
"I was able to build a barn on Wayne property. There is a loft, filled with hay for Batcow and Jerry has his own coop." Damian replied, sensing she was genuinely interested, "I personally clean out the manure to make sure they live in a safe and clean environment. I only wish the best health on all of my pets. My friend has helped me before."
Lila scrunched up her nose at him voicing about him picking up animal poop.
'How can he stand the thought of touching something so dirty? I can't imagine how horrible it must smell! He said his friend did it before and his family are farmers, why doesn’t he just pay him to do it? I'm sure if he threw $1000 his way, he'd happily do it.'
"Isn't that what butlers are for?" she whispered, with distain.
Lila realized everyone was staring at her.
'Fuck! Did I say that outloud?'
"I-I just meant that Adrien has his body guard and Chloe has Jean-something." she quickly stammered out.
"Yes. We do have a butler." Damian spoke, "His name is Alfred."
"So why-" began Alya.
"Alfred is indoctrinated into our family as our grandfather." the youngest Wayne continued, "He raised my father, after his parents deaths. He has raised my bothers and myself. We turn to him for guidance, more than Father. There will not be a dry eye in Wayne Manor upon his passing."
"I think Lila was asking about the other butlers and maids." Rose suggested.
"There is no one else." Damian stated, "Alfred has served the family for years and is a veteran. He is prepared to die for our lives. Father has a distaste for guns, but Alfred said he will never find them and his ready to use them, if necessary. We don't need anyone else."
"You are lucky I know how to cook and bake, while Jason is still learning." Marinette smiled, "You would all burn the manor down trying to make eggs."
"That was Father!" Damian turned towards Mari.
"Don't worry, Habibi. I will make sure you cook your grandfather wonderful cuisine." Mari smiled, kissing his lips, "If only for you to rub it in Bruce's face."
Damian's distained look turned into a soft smiled, "What should we try first?"
"Why not something your familiar with? Some cuisine from your mother's homeland and we can look for alterations and suggestions to make it vegetarian." his girlfriend answered, "We can keep notes and perfect it before you serve it to him."
"Mother is going to love you, Habibiti." He replied, pulling her away from the crowd.
