Lise Sarfati es una fotógrafa francesa, nacida en Algeria en 1958. Desde 2003 está afincada en Estados Unidos. En On Hollywood, Lise retrata mujeres que viven en esta ciudad para perseguir su sueño. Son bailarinas, strippers o vendedoras con un mismo objetivo, todas buscan el éxito que parece que tarda más en llegar de lo esperado. Las retrata en paisajes fríos, solas, en imágenes que tienen un aire onírico, como si Hollywood no fuera de verdad.
