OK but imagine- you enter Satan's room and ask him if you can touch his tail "for science" and he gets lowkey offended bc tail is considered a private part of a demon's body and is not supposed to be openly handled like that. However, MC says that Levi and Belphie already allowed them and even described the textures like Levi's tail being scaly while Belphie's is a bit prickly except for the tuft. Since he obv found the idea unappealing, MC turned around to take their leave but Satan stopped them.
He was conflicted. He still believed in his principle bc he knew it was the right thing to say, but he was also jealous of his brothers for having their tails touched by MC. It wasn't fair. Tails are sensitive and touching them is supposed to be an intimate act. It lost its initial meaning and it quite disappointed him.
Nonetheless, he tried to compromise- he was willing to allow them to touch it if MC agreed to date him for a week and see where things will go from there. He didn't want to feel used and MC sympathized.
Since MC was doing it, quote on quote, "for science", Satan wanted to give them the full experience by allowing them to sit on his lap, instructing them to touch his left sternum with one hand while the other touched his caudal bones. He warned them that the ends of his tail are very sharp so only the flat parts of spinous process were meant to be touched. The last thing he needed was for MC to get hurt and they loved the care and worry behind his words.
The feeling was smooth and solid, nothing exceptional. But the simple act made his heartbeat accelerate and his kiss on their forehead more meaningful. His softness was instinctive. He only ever used his tail in fights and the sharp edges served their purpose by causing sever damage to his opponents. Still, his smooth parts were never touched by anyone and MC was the one who assigned this part of himself a completely new meaning. He gave in to tenderness and felt especially affectionate. Kissing, cuddling, letting his walls down was never easier, his whimpers, guiet moans and "I love you's" exchanged between the two of them was a big deal for someone as put together as Satan. He did it purposely, he allowed himself to let his guard down a little, bc MC was special to him.
