The fact that this is basically canon is enough to kill me some days.

I’ve been trying to figure out what symbols I can use for Satan. Here’s what I have currently:

Goats (traditional symbol)

Fire and it’s colors (due to Iblis saying that they were born of fire)

Feathers from birds that have been naturally lost (symbolizes Satan’s fall)

The number 6 (The number of wings Satan had before they fell. However, I’ve heard that they actually had 8 or 7 due to their high status but I haven’t found a good source.)

Pressed flowers, insects within amber, petrified wood, fossils (Something of beauty that is preserved after it’s death to symbolize their fall)

Serpents (symbolizes the first time Satan became an adversary to humans)

Metamorphic rocks (these rocks have undergone high heat and pressure which symbolize the change that he takes us through)

Does anybody else have symbols that could be used?

My thoughts about Satan

I’ve been doing my research of this being for quite awhile now and I find him quite interesting within the texts that talk about him and his origin.

The Qur’an had the most descriptive tale of what could have happened. The story goes that Adam is created and The Creator(Allah) tells the angels to bow to Adam. Iblis, does not bow and says that he believes that he, a being made from fire, should not bow to something made of clay. Being the iron-fisted deity that he is, Allah casts out Iblis and allows Iblis to wait out his punishment to The End, which is essentially Ragnarok or the Rapture in other religions. During that waiting period, Iblis said that he would try to lure humanity into sin to be dragged with him into his eventual punishment.

When I was younger, I would have taken the story by fact. I would have said, “Yes, Satan would do such a thing because he is evil.”

But now I ask why? Why would a being with so much power want to mess with boring, weak things like us? 

I have a theory for his reasoning. I feel like he is trying to show that humans are nothing to bow down to. He shows his creator all the flaws that we have. The cracks within our clay bodies.

However, you can use this to your benefit. Followers of Satan can ask him to show them their own flaws. They wish to be broken. And through the breaking, they become something else. Something better than before. He can make you stronger by putting you in the ringer.

Christians will often talk about the trials that Satan has given them and how they overcame with the help of their creator and came out better than before. I believe they should thank Satan. He placed those obstacles in their path and put limits on their life so they can break them and become better humans.

If we achieve, we become something better than a pile of clay. If we fail, we show our creator how flawed we are.

Either way, Satan seems happy.

I’m a bit confused...

I’m seeing some Luciferians use the name “Lucifer” when referring to Satan but I thought that connection of “Lucifer” was from Paradise Lost which was based on a misread of a Bible text which was actually talking about a king.

Satan is a Luciferian being, but I don’t understand why they call him Lucifer. Any info for this dumb person?
