Being self employed and rather neurotic, it is easy to get so caught up in things that we both forget about self care at times. Yesterday was one of those days that we just had to reset. We were sitting around, drinking coffee and talking like normal, when I suddenly had the strong urge to buy a much bigger farm and was ready to pack everything up and go hardcore. 4 years have apparently been long enough for us to forget what it was like to move and build an entire small farm from scratch, so when I started telling Jen my dreams of change and more responsibility, and actually started looking at places to tour, she realized she had to act fast to reset my urges. The Farmpit is not only a dream in the front, but it is a party in the back. We are so fortunate to live directly on the river, yet we have neglected taking full advantage of just doing nothing and enjoying it. So, we took the day off yesterday to spend it in our own backyard rather than front. And it was delightful and a day on the white sandbars of the Satilla river was just what I needed to appreciate everything we have built and protected. Our dogs played so hard that we almost had to carry them back to the house. Our Driftwood Beach bar was inspired by all the different types of beaches the south has to offer. From actual Driftwood Beach over on neighboring Jekyll Island, to our own sandbar with its beautiful, twisted pieces of cypress that wash ashore. It has been a while since it was in stock but it is back today for good. Grab a bar, reset, and fall back in love with your life. (P.S. This is one of our elusive couples selfies. We never take these but always wish we had.
